PLEASE READ ALL OF THE BELOW

This is my refined Amalgamation modlist, after many changes and testing it live on stream for many months. I might still make some changes and adjustments over time (especially to the tweaks mod), but likely nothing major anymore.

Keep in mind you have to use Alternative Mod Launcher[github.com] if you plan to use this modlist - this is not optional. You also have to own War of the Chosen, as well as Shen's Last Gift, Alien Hunters and Tactical Legacy Pack (the modlist WILL NOT WORK without all of them).

NOTE THAT ALTERNATIVE MOD LAUNCHER WILL SHOW MISSING DEPENDENCIES, ETC. - YOU CAN AND SHOULD IGNORE THEM. The reason it's showing them is because the functionality provided by the missing dependency was moved to a different mod, therefore the original one is not required anymore (and adding it unnecessarily might even break things, because you are now duplicating the same functionality in two different mods).

ADDITIONAL MODS
I have an extra, separate modlist with additional mods that I also use. They're not part of the main modlist (this one) for various reasons, but you can use them if you like (some, like the Hive, can be a bit imbalanced, while others, like MOCX, can cause various problems).

A WORD OF WARNING
This modlist was designed to start out relatively easy (in March/April and before Force Level 5), but will get progressively harder later on. It might also get a bit easier around Force Level 12-14 (depending on the state of your research), but once you get to the late game (Force Level 15 and higher), missions can get VERY challenging. Pyrrhic victories are enabled, which means you can complete the objective and leave without killing all the enemies (the downside is that you won't get the corpses, because you left). There can be a lot of variance in how easy or hard various missions will be, which means skipping a mission will sometimes be the reasonable thing to do. If you never played with the Requiem Legion mod, I STRONGLY recommend turning on the Gentle Requiem Second Wave option - it will disable some of the more punishing mechanics and make the game considerably easier. Finally, keep in mind I only tested the modlist on Legend difficulty.

Second Wave Options
The modlist config will enable multiple Second Wave Options by default, but before you start a campaign, a few important notes. There are a few specific options that will make a huge difference for the overall difficulty:
- A Merciless Alteration (disabled by default): this will enable Requiem's Hard Mode and make the Requiem enemies significantly more challenging (by giving them some new mechanics / abilities, that they do not have outside of Hard Mode). I do not recommend enabling this, unless you have significant experience with Requiem Legion already, and really know what you're doing.
- That Perilous Yearning (disabled by default): this enables the Beyond Legendary difficulty. I do not recommend playing with this, unless you're completely fine with running into borderline impossible situations and losing the campaign. This option exists for the sole purpose of making the game unreasonably difficult (this is a direct quote from Reshi, the author of the Requiem mods).
- A Gentle Requiem (disabled by default): this will make the game significantly easier by disabling some of the most punishing Requiem mechanics. If you're worried things might get too hard, or it's your first time playing with Requiem Legion, you might want to consider enabling this.
- Scamper Exhaustion (enabled by default): This disables Requiem reaction mechanics for ONE TURN after Scampering. Requiem enemies can react one time per turn when you attack them (unless Gentle Requiem is enabled), with this option enabled they will not be able to react on the turn you trigger the pod on. This only works if you attack them during your turn - if you ambush them with overwatch during the enemy turn, reactions will still be active.
- A Golden Requiem (enabled by default): this affects enemy squad compositions in some specific mission types, which can potentially make them harder (Golden Path missions, but also alien facilities, chosen strongholds, etc.).

Other Notes
Once you're subscribed to all the mods on the modlist, I suggest unsubbing and then re-subbing to the Tweaks mod (on top of the list) to make sure it runs last. (this shouldn't be needed, but it doesn't hurt doing it anyway)

Finally, when switching between big modlists, it can generally be helpful to do one or all of the following things (to avoid various issues):
- Verify file integrity (via Steam, XCOM 2 -> Properties -> Installed Files -> Verify integrity of game files),
- Delete \Documents\My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\SaveData\profile.bin (this file stores stuff from other playthroughs, and can have undesired effect on all kinds of things),
- Delete everything in this folder: \Documents\My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config
