Description
This collection includes all ships of the Royal and later Imperial Charisian Navies from the Jayne's Fighting Ships of Safehold exhibit on Charisian Jihad Era ships hosted at the Imperial Aeronautical War Museum. The majority of these ships are meant for pure multiplayer skirmish mode, although they date from when unarmored spikes were considered vital components by AI targetting. They're all pretty good ships. The last two, the torpedo boat destroyer and the battleship, are just meant to look pretty.

Charis. The greatest power in the history of the Safeholdian Region. Their empire spans from frigid Chisholm to balmy Emerald Island, from Tarrot Island in the west to island Duchy of Zebediah in the east. Their navy dominates the world, and their merchants are an omnipresent force in any port. Of the great innovations introduced shortly before, during, and after the Great Jihad, almost all can be attributed to them. Yet how did the Kingdom of Charis stand against the wrath of Grand Vicar Zaspahr Clynahn, and grow to become the mighty Charisian Empire of today? In this article, Jayne's Fighting Ships of Safehold hopes to inform our readers of how it was that Charis turned aside the spear of the Jihad which Vicar Zaspahr hurled at them, and in doing so broke the power of the corrupt Church of God Awaiting forever.
As an island nation, Charis had always had a strong navy. Their galleys dominated the seas around their kingdom, and their merchant ships dominated the region's carrying trade. In fact, their dominance of the carrying trade was nearly their undoing. The wealth they accumulated because of it, combined with their distance from the Holy City of Zion, made them an object of natural--and in this case, more than a little paranoid--suspicion on the part of the Grand Vicar. When reports came in of their experiments with simple craft held aloft by that forbidden substance, Suspendium, object of the Archangel Jwo-Jeng's ire, Vicar Zaspahr decided on a final solution to the Charisian problem. The fleets of the mainland realms, and more than a few island realms, were called up like common hitmen to slit the throat of an entire kingdom. Had they succeeded, the history of Safehold would no doubt be far darker. Fortunately for us all, they did not succeed.
