Destroyer class Frigate

Destroyer class Frigates can be considered a dividing point between the age of sailing airships and the age of the ironclad. Originally intended to destroy the new fortifications with rifled artillery being fielded by Church-aligned forces, their underslung 8-inch breech loading guns proved unable to deal with heavy fortifications at ranges that were safe for the inherently fragile wood-and-canvas frigates. Only a few were ever made, as by that point Charisian technology had advanced to the point where there was little need for such a ship. Their first and only hurrah was the orgy of mutual destruction over the Shipworm Shoals.
