New changes:
- The ability of militia units except Pikemen to upgrade to Rifle Infantry has been temporarily disabled.
- State Militia is now the main US line infantryman, witn Continental Marines now reassigned as an elite unit. They will be converted over to a Mercantile Era-only unit in the next chapter -- if and when it is ready.
- Slots prepared for KGV Agent (A Wrong Turn continuation unit) and Terrorist.

Cleanup continues...for my copy:
- A few NULL entries were inserted into Machine Gun slots. They will stay there until I use them later, for various arty units.
- Cleaned out entries that referred to Archers/Bowmen since these units are now spear units and now archers.

OUTSTANDING

- Fusiliers, Musketeers (and Napoleon's Young Guard) alongside Agents not fixed, we need to deal with them in some capacity....somehow.
- I need breakfast.

Changed model of Foreign Legion, it didn't look good. The old model has been set aside and will be used for the Malays once they are coded in.

Began the process of revamping the unit slot system.....
Pikemen and Spearmen now occupy archer slots, and are treated chiefly as militia units.
- In the Industrial Age, they upgrade to Riflemen.
- For Rise of Napoleon/Ultima Ratio, several militia units (Grenzers, Lantvarns, Native American warriors, etc) are trained from cities, but only Towns (not villages) can raise gun units.
- Other militia units (swordsmen, archers, Chinese stealth Tiger Men) outstanding. Still dunno how to treat them.
Hopefully this will have eliminated any area for mid-game CTDs although I suspect that spies may be the cause of them.

- soundtypes.xml was busted - fixed it, it works and doesn't crash the game no more.
- quick test of <CHEAT SAFE> works, now to begin fixing spear infantry

- Integrated Foreign Legion into the mod. Not meant to be playable yet, just a CHEAT_SAFE debugging tool. There are two versions: a pre-WW1 version, with a blue tunic, and a post-WW1 version clad in the khaki preferred by colonial French troops.
- Checked through the unit slot hierarchy, we will need an overhaul. A MASSIVE overhaul. For now,

- BOWMEN slots will be replaced with spear units - Pike Levy, Spearmen, etc. They eventually upgrade to become levy/militia class units.
- SLINGERS slots will be occupied by line infantry
- HOPLITES will be elite infantry - halberdiers, grenadiers, the works. I gave considerable thought to this, and decided that this was best. American State Militia can be moved in to take over the void left behind by the Marines' "promotion".

Schedule:
- Finish adding future units to this mod - Halberdiers, Pikemen, Spearmen, the works. Do whatever is necessary to get them in position.
- Afterward, check for corrupt animations. However, my suspicion is that the crashes are being caused by agents. Best to check them out - Spies, Terrorists, Partisans - and to figure out what is causing exactly what.
