Projectile Reflector

This mod introduces a unique defensive mechanic: use your own weapon's projectiles to intercept and return enemy fire. Create a defensive screen with a rapid-fire weapon or swat a rocket out of the air with a single sword swing.

This mod is about reflecting projectiles with other projectiles. If you're looking for a classic weapon parry system (blocking with the weapon itself), check out my other mod: Parry, Deflect and Riposte.

Press the Reflect key ('V' by default) to activate your defensive shield. How it works beyond that is entirely up to you.




⚙️ A Fully Customizable Experience
This isn't a mod with a fixed playstyle. It's a sandbox for you to create your own. Head into the Mod Configuration menu and build the reflection mechanic that you want.

  • Toggle Mode: Flip a switch to turn reflection on or off at will. You can set a continuous Mana Drain Per Second to maintain the shield. Set it to 0, and it becomes a free, permanent defensive aura.
  • Buff Mode: Prefer a more tactical approach? Disable Toggle Mode to turn the ability into a temporary buff with a cooldown. You can set the Reflector Duration from a momentary flash to a long-lasting barrier, and adjust the Reflector Cooldown to match.
  • Control the Interaction: Decide exactly what happens when projectiles meet. Configure the fate of your own projectiles: should they be destroyed on impact (default), do nothing, or even be reflected back at you for a high-risk challenge? Do the same for enemy projectiles: reflect them back for massive damage (default), or simply have them destroyed if you prefer a purely defensive tool.
  • Full Control: Adjust the initial Mana Cost for activation and the Damage Multiplier for reflected projectiles. Make it a high-risk, high-reward glass cannon tool or a reliable, low-cost utility. The choice is yours.

Теперь в конфиге можно настроить, что происходит со снарядами при столкновении.

Чувак, у меня есть пару интересных идей для конфига!

1. Режим где снаряд врага не отражается, а уничтожается.
2. Так же: должен ли уничтожаться снаряд игрока.
3. Реверсировать отражение. Снаряды игрока отражаются от вражеских, либо вражеские снаряды уничтожают снаряды игрока.

Если что-то ещё придумаю - напишу.

You're absolutely right, I completely forgot The Destroyer's body fires lasers.

My main concern with a "reflections only" run would be the frustration factor. What happens if your own projectiles accidentally hit an enemy and deal damage? Does the entire run become invalid? It seems like it would be incredibly difficult to manage, especially in chaotic fights.

But if you're looking for a "parry only" style of challenge, that's definitely more viable. My other mod, Parry, Deflect and Riposte, is built exactly for that. You can just take any weapon you like and focus entirely on parrying for your damage.

I meant intentionally missing with the player's own projectiles.
Also, you seem to have forgotten that the Destroyer body itself fires lasers too.

Funnily enough one could only even consider such a run on Expert+ since Skeletron only fires projectiles on that difficulty.

Plantera would also be trouble since her only projectiles in phase 2 are technically enemies and thus probably not able to be reflected, but you could bring other projectile shooting enemies into the arena and slowly drag her health down.
