Description
🎯 Headshots: Precision Rewarded

Why swing wildly when you can aim with purpose? This mod adds a clean, skill-based headshot mechanic to Terraria, rewarding accuracy with satisfying feedback and bonus damage.

With a bow, wand, or dagger in hand, landing a shot on the upper part of an enemy’s hitbox turns precision into power.




⚔️ Core Features
  • Precision Damage: Shots to the upper part of a humanoid enemy’s hitbox are considered headshots, dealing bonus damage.

  • Satisfying Feedback: Every headshot is confirmed with a distinct sparkle and a sharp "tink" sound, so your aim always feels rewarding.

  • Smarter Targeting: The logic intelligently distinguishes humanoids from beasts, excluding enemies like spiders or crabs while automatically supporting most humanoid enemies from other mods.

  • Authored Design: Headshots are enabled only for weapons that reward aim: Ranged, Magic, and Summon projectiles, plus select aim-based melee weapons like Starfury, throwing knives, and boomerangs. Spammy swings (like Terra Blade beams) are deliberately excluded.

  • Mod Compatibility: Built-in support for Calamity Mod! An option in the settings allows you to enable Rogue headshots (on by default).

  • Fully Configurable: Adjust the headshot multiplier, toggle summoner headshots, and fine-tune balance through the in-game config menu.




🎯 The Philosophy: Aim Matters, Not Spam
The design goal is simple: precision should be rewarded.
Weapons that require careful aim can land headshots, while screen-filling spam cannot. This makes combat feel deliberate, skillful, and satisfying.

Riyango, just wanted to let you know the update is live. I've added the toggle option for Rogue class support as requested, and it's enabled by default in the mod's settings.

Regarding the Archery Overhaul mod, I'll look into its compatibility when I get a chance. Thanks again for all the comments, they're a huge motivation and help a lot with improving the mod!

Great . Btw is it compatible with the archery overhaul mod ? They have custom animation and sound feedback for critical hits and some other archery related things .

That's a great point. I've just released a patch for this. Summoner headshots are now disabled by default, but you can re-enable them in the config if you want. Thanks for the feedback!

Summoner weapons should not be able to land headshots. They basically never miss.
