Odin promised to rid the earth of Ice Giants, and kept his word.
There are no Ice Giants.
Have we been under threat from Ice Giants? No, we haven’t.
Any terrorist acts by Ice Giants? No.
I have never seen one, and don’t know anyone who has. I like a God who keeps his word.
Praise Odinn!

Introduction and Tips
A lot of thanks to gatico_muchacho(Sam) for gifting me the game (you're awesome, dude)!

Man, what a ride, I love tactic games. This one was very challenging but not as stressful as some permadeath, I delete your savefile ones, it was nice, very hard at the beginning but once you get your skillset going, gets easier and easier.

Some quick tips:
  • You can resize the game's UI in the video options to make the Interface and all text bigger.
  • You can double click items to equip or click and drag.
  • The game gets easier as you get more skills and equipment, dont give up.
  • Quests and Cairns give skill points to all your party members, each one has its own pool of SP to spend, if the member joins later, it will still have the same SP as the others when he joins.
  • There is a time limit, but the game only passes time after quests and some limited actions that you can manage, dont worry too much about it.
  • The game is hard at the start but gets easier as you get skills and equipment, focus on physical resistance, you dont want to get knocked down or stunned often.
  • There are missable achievements, sidequest and ending related.
  • You cant use restore/heal on yourself.
  • Surprise rounds: you can move around enemies as they dont have opportunity attacks.
  • Recycling weapons and armor is influenced by the repairing skill of the party member who has the highest rank.
  • AP on a weapon is for Armor Penetration
  • Everyone should try and grab Leadership for resistances and Inspire.
  • Execute+Shield-Hook(or Excalibur)+Inspire, 1 turn kill, any boss.
  • Traps and items mostly use a free action to use(some dont), traps are great to create chokepoints, the AI will try and avoid them once spotted.
  • Someone with a shield can provide cover for someone else behind/next to him, depends on the attacker's angle and stuff.

The game has a wiki: https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Expeditions:_Viking_Wiki

When you are creating your party, check out this page to better understand what the stats do:
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Stats

I recommend you read the hints section after you do the tutorial:

Edit: Thank you very much for the awards! :)✔✨🙂🎂
Ending & Difficulty Achievos
+7 [7/40]

Before you start the run, you can decide difficulty options, for these achievements you need to set them up. I suggest you play your first game on highest difficulty with lots of saves in case you mess up, once you get the difficulty achievements at the end of the game, run an easy and quick game with ironman on.

Beowulf
Complete the game in Iron Man mode

Only one save file, it gets overwritten.
With careful research and a good build you can pull it off on your first run along with Bloodaxe, easier than you think. (See my walkthrough in the last sections)

Because of the 3 different endings, you might want to make your first run without Ironman, save at a point of no return (Around Dun Phir decision), do an ending, reload, do a 2nd one, then a new run for the 3rd one on Ironman.

Quoting: https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Ironman_mode_(Viking)
The game make a savefile when you enter:
  • the world map;
  • an area;
  • a campsite, no longer able to indirectly influence the special property of a crafted weapon or armor.
  • leave the campsite automatically after the fourth shift has ended.

It does not save the game when you take a decision during quests, so you can change your decision if you want a different outcome of a specific quest. The game also doesn't make a save after a battle.

Remember that if you quit the game or go to the main menu, the game wont save then!
There is also no permadeath, meaning you can just reload the last time the game saved if you lose or rather, didnt win.

----------------------------
These 3 unlock at the same time if you do the hardest one, recommended to go for Bloodaxe without ironman.

Boneless
Complete the game on Medium difficulty or above

Shaggy-Breeches
Complete the game on High difficulty or above

Bloodaxe
Complete the game on Highest Difficulty or above

*To unlock these, you need to get to the credits.
----------------------------
Endings
In your run, work for both factions equally and be careful not to decide Dun Phir's fate, make a save and go for each faction ending, reloading the save where you decide what ending to go for, do note you will still need to do an Ironman run later (Probably a Prosperity run).

If you're going for the Danelaw ending(Power 100+), check out this useful page:
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Homestead_strategy_guide

Hero of Northumbria
Help Northumbria conquer the Picts

Hero of Pictavia
Help the Picts defeat Northumbria

Wrath of the Northmen
Conquer Britain for the Norse and establish the Danelaw

*The Hero achievements pop after the victory feast, you must finish a side's questline then ally with with them for conquering the town of Dun Phrim.

*For wrath, you need 100 power for this ending and do both city fights to conquer both cities.
OR side with the village against the two powers of Britain.

The achievements unlock before the Althing, so you dont have to do the final Viking battles for these.
---------------------------------
Point of no Return
The quest (Fort of the Thicket[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]) is a good point to save a game then decide which ending you'll go for.

There, find some graves and this achievement will unlock.

Ashes to Ashes
Bring justice to the arsonist of Ribe

In Riba on the site of the ashes, there is a hatch, we climb into it, inside we find the key.
We go to the house, in the north-east of the city, which "has the smell of sulfur." Look at everything.
With 70+ Power in Orkneyjar, the wharf merchant says that a new carpenter from Ribe has arrived.
Save here in case something goes wrong, go to the man by the big campfire NW of the area and talk to him, accuse him of being the arsonist then sentence him to death.

The Isle of Apples

This starts at the Ravine (Pict questline), look at the stones and you will start a quest to find 7 tablets which are hinted by 7 menhirs around the game, some are in endgame locations.

My Playthrough
So, I did feel daring and went for the Ironman/Insane run on my first playthrough.
These next sections will record my choices and consequences as I go for it.

Remember that if you quit the game or go to the main menu, the game wont save!
Also, there is no permadeath, most battles, if you lose, you can continue with some penalization (check out the mission in the wiki), at worst, you could lose like 20 minutes or so as you reload the savefile of when you restarted the area.

The wiki will also help with research: https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Expeditions:_Viking_Wiki

Check out this guide if you want to do some research on what build is right for you as you tackle Insane difficulty: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=923967921
Its also an excellent guide to optimize the skills of your main party.
You can also check out the classes page in the wiki:
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Classes

To maximize and plan your resources and reputation, you might want to spoil yourself using the data written down by others about dialogue options and rewards: https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Quests_(Viking)

I will go for a tank/support build.
Its high Finesse, Sense and Perception will help with Dialogue/Stealing to get more valuables so I can trade for items/prosperity.

I will play as a female, it saves on 10,000 valuables eventually.

Skills: Knive, Shield, L2 + Leadership, Healing, Good patient L1
*Good patient can be replaced or passed, since it only works when someone else heals you and you wont get a healer until later.

I will try to do a 100+ Power, 100+ Prosperity ending because, why not.
To plan this path, I used https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Homestead
Ill track my progress during the walkthrough.

Prologue

The Feast
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/The_Feast
* Grabbed the correct option with the White for the reputation +1 point with Ribe

Me and the other warrior tanked the enemy warriors, sent the spearwoman against the archer and used our own archer against the enemy medic. Remember to use flanking if possible.

Something To Prove
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Something_To_Prove

Talked to mom to get the 3 optional quests, Looted everything around the village, including the enemy corpses (you might need to move the mouse around a little until the hand icon appears).

The game will not tell you, but you can start building now with the resources you get from the start plus the ones you have looted around town, go to the Homestead tab and check what you can build, in my run, I chose the Training Ring without thralls. Using a thrall to speed up a building consumes the thrall.

Got a SP (Skillpoint) from the Cairn at the cemetery. Denmark Cairns (1/10)
It is recommended to not grab any of the flowers until you trigger Hulda's quest for them.

Spent SP: Backstabber and Healer L2.
*Backstabber is an amazing combo with Archers and Stone Throwers (who use Strength)
*Charge attack is also great for extra damage while seeking enemies.

Using Leadership, grabbed the armor from smithy, asked to set the trap but skipped on the poison so I can recruit the guy later without him having morale penalties.

After going to bed, the game will finally save.

1 day passes

On the island, the trap is set, dont forget to equip your armor.
I moved back and buffed myself, on his turn, he got snared (the trap is right infront of him) then I used the Knive ability Deathblow for double damage. To win this fight, you must defeat him 3 times, you lose if you get defeated 3 times. if you lose, you can reload the last save to try again, but dont let the scene move away from the island.

I decided to recruit the guy but your decision here wont affect you too much in the end.

Before you take the boat back, loot the two places in the island, one on each side.

Power: 10 / Prosperity: 10

Cleaning House
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Cleaning_House

Using a stone, you can access the travel map.

This is the first time to see the world map, do note that there is a game time limit but its often generous but dont underestimate it.

Remember that making a camp spends 12 hours, the time limit is 1 month, but its not to the end of the game, just Act 1. The advice here is to put a long construction project in the village before the timeskip at the end of Act 1.

Travel to the farm, you gotta be ruthless in this one, examples must be made.
I highly suggest you do the fight before looting, in case you need to reload.
I personally did the finesse check to assassinate the guy and then killed everyone for more loots, ofc. Most of them will flee and cower. man.. killing innocents is.. I felt bad but my clansmen loved it somehow. (+10 Clan Rep)

If you go south from the area entrance, youll meet an old thrall which will give you a sidequest. (Old Debts), Do not talk to him yet, you can get him as a thrall only if you talk to him after killing/exiling Erlingr, east of there, you can find a Cairn (2/10) which gives you 1 SP.
Behind a burned barn, there is a schematic (Hardened Leather) and another north of there in a crate, (Armor Padding) among other goodies scattered around.

3 days passes
Training Ring is built = +2 Power.
Power: 12 / Prosperity: 10

The Northmen's Raid
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/The_Northmen%27s_Raid

Grab everything from inside your house before leaving, including the invisible sword in the chest (if you got +1 Ribe rep with White), the game will save when you exit the house.

You can equip party members even if they are not currently with you, so go ahead and equip Asleifr with the new sword.

This scenario will pit you against 3 fights, you cant save between fights, you need to win at least 2 of them, the easier fight is south on the bridge with the spearwoman, try and use demoralize to mess up their archers/healers while you hold the bridge and kill their attackers one by one, using chokepoints and the spear ability to attack from 2 hexes away.

Demoralize is your best friend against archers.

After that, go north and survive the waves, you can try a defensive position using a bottleneck between houses, every 3 turns 3 more enemies will arrive, be careful of the axemen that can remove your block ability and the healers can fully heal enemies or demoralize your archers.
You can also use venom, interrupt or ready while you wait for an enemy to reach you.
If the enemy is 2 hexes away, even on the other side of the wall, you can hit them with spears or longaxes but they can do the same to you if they have those.

Remember that dudes with shields can block arrows sometimes, the healers are archers and they will be a pain in the butt, use demoralize.

The 3rd fight against Gunnar is tough, the archer is a pain, use demoralize if you can, focus fire on Gunnar, if you have a torch, you can break a nearby vase by the stone and throw the torch there to ignite it. Gunnarr moves 6 squares and can attack, so in the surprise round, try and move out of his reach, protect you own Archer, they like to focus on him.

1 day passes

Part 2
The Plot Thickens
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/The_Plot_Thickens

You can talk to the Smith to repair things or craft but dont, its super expensive right now and you need the valuables for buildings.

Interrogating the giant, I suggest choosing:
"That is superstitious babble"
"Tell me why you attacked my village..." and then following up with "I will do so gladly"

You can enter the house NE of the homestead now (Lojtr&Ketill's) and loot some stuff, this also saves your game.

Talking to Mom:
"We cross the sea and plunder..."
"I do not intend to do any trading..."
"It's worth looking in to..."
(Optional) "I have no interest in letting that man join our crew"

and after a few hours of playing the game, you finally get your first achievement: Thegn

Act 1
Preparations
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Preparations:_A_Motley_Hird
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Preparations:_The_Longship
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Preparations:_Tomb_Raider

Before leaving, you can talk to your brother Rurik for an extra quest. (Frail one[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])

Roskva will ask to join, let her, she can help make medicine out of herbs and be a healer for your team as well as demoralize.

Go to Gunnarr and let him join, you will lose some clansmen Rep but its fine.

Go to Hulda, the witch and read the funny dialogue.
She can heal your team if some of them are wounded.
Ask about foraging herbs for her, you'll start a sidequest (Wilted Flowers).

Go to the graveyard to grab the herb there, go west to the pen, then SW by the beach, return to Hulda. (Wilted Flowers)

Your reward: 3SP and 5 Rep.

SW from homestead youll see people training and can get a sidequest (In Fighting Trim).
This gives 3SP and 10 Rep, but just once, you should do it now.

South from there, you can talk to Eydis about the tomb and let her join your team.
You can go into her house for some loot.

Go to the house NE from the smith, this is Nefja's house to start (Frail One), you can steal items from the containers here if you have enough Finesse, reload if you get caught.

Now go east from the homestead where the ship is being built and talk to Torfinn.
At this time, Sigridr came to me and started (Unwanted Guests)

Time to head out.

Ok, we have 1 month to do the 3 Preparations quests and all the side quests we can find.
Camping takes 12 hours, traveling takes a few hours depending on the location, we should not go carelessly back and forth areas and waste time.

First stop: Skejrn Forest, 3 hour trip
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Skjern_Forest

Uncle is near, talk to him about wolves to start (Pack it up)[expeditions-viking.fandom.com], ignore him and continue SE.

Exploring to the SE will lead you to a merchant looking for his brother,
(https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Leifr_Hakonsson), completing his quest will give you an awesome spear, an armor and a helmet, the sword you found in a corpse must be unequipped in your inventory for the option to return it to appear.

Close to him, there is a Cairn 1SP (3/10), going west from there towards the center you can find a better bow for your Archer.

Now that you had an equipment upgrade, exit the map to save then go talk to your Uncle to help him with wolves.(Pack it Up)
*3 hours pass*
You have 2 turns to kill as many as you can, after, they will begin to flee.
Surround them if you can, Charge will help a lot in the opening round.
After the fight, you can grab loot from corpses and exit the map to save, then come back.

You can go of the map to the well and retrieve some sweet loot and as a bonus, you get to murder several bandits for their stuff! Aww yeahh! (Old Debts[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).
They will get the first round, move back a bit while you position yourself so they dont get a free hit on your team. Next round, shut down their Archers with Demoralize and make a V formation to take on their 4 warriors.

Afterwards, if you look near where you fought the wolves, there is a small path to a camp with "merchants", (Unwanted Visitors[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]) if you talk to them peacefully and then tell them these are your woods and they should pay you a tax, you'll get 50 valuables and 3 hides. Afterwards, dont let them go, instead, look around the camp, the sword inside a tent, the shield at the back, spear behind a tree to the right, talk again and start the battle, its surprisingly easier than the others.

The final event in the forest involves some Thralls, you can find them directly south from the area's entrance, around the middle of the map, avoid killing them by enabling non-lethal mode and after you win the fight, you can decide to keep them, Gunnar will lose morale but you will gain 5 Thralls!

Before leaving, talk to Torfinn and choose a timber (doesnt matter which).
Time to continue heading for Ribe

Marsh Campsite
This might be your first time camping, so before you come here, read up on https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Camping and upgrade the party members you will take to camp, see the link above to plan your camping strategy.

But when should you camp?

Well, every character has a stamina stat, this resets when the character rests.
The fatigue condition will trigger if it reaches zero, you dont want that, so I suggest you camp when one of your hird is around 10 or so stamina.

You dont have to camp at every site, it will actually often waste a bit of time, however, if you find an occupied camp while you travel, you should definitely try and conquer it since its part of an achievement. Simply leave the camp after you win to avoid wasting time or stay and scout/hunt to get extra resources, your choice.

i did spend 1 night at two camps to scout and get extra resources, this let me grab enough wood to start the Herbal Glade, spending 2 thralls for it to complete in 3 days, I did this so as soon as I get to Ribe and get more wood, I can upgrade the smithy, I also got 50 rations for Ribe's Temple.

Ribe
There are a whooping 8 additional quests here, read about them here:
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Ribe

Bring Gunnarr

Hoboing the town, looting everything.
If you go NE from the entrance, you will find a Cairn (4/10)
Another Cairn behind the temple, middle north of the map (5/10)

Sacrificed rations at the temple to get the +1 move amulet (Odinn), who also gave me +1 power.
If you lack rations, loot around town and/or buy them at the market.
[Power: 13 / Prosperity: 10]
You can also continue the quest (Frail One) here by asking for medicine.

Going to the Jarl's House, one can start the quest (Guard's Duty[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]), since I have 10 Endurance, I won the challenges, check the link for details.
[+1SP, +10 Ribe Rep]

South from Jarl's you can find a woman named Branna, talk to her to start (Hel Hath No Fury[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])

There is a trapdoor nearby, if you dont have Strength, you will get fatigued but going down there is necessary to start (Ashes to Ashes) which is needed for the achievement, you can leave this part for when you plan to go to camp next, you'll be returning to Ribe after the marsh.

Part 3
Nearby, to the west, you might find the Smith, free helmet on a dummy, near him you will get ambushed (Assassins!)[expeditions-viking.fandom.com] (+3SP, -1Rep)

The last Ribe's Cairn is in a yard west and a little south of the Smith (6/10)

Going towards the center of town, at the market, talk to Ingimarr for (One Last Drink)[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]
and also grab (Kill the Rats) from a dude named Jardarr and (Monsters in the Marsh) from Ida the Loud.

Going to Ingimarr house near the smithy, fun event.

There is a chokepoint you can use to the left of the room

but it might be best to simply get close to the archers instead, use Gunnarr's abilities, they hit hard.

(+3SP and loot)

Going west, you should find a house with people arguing outside, this is (The Halfdansons and the Mardolsons[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]) Rule for them to keep the pig. (+10 Ribe Rep, +40 wood)

Go west from there and talk to the ship's captain, intimidate him about the medallion (-1 Ribe Rep +3SP). You might want to go to the jarls house or exit the map to save.

Going back to the market, west of market, talked to Skallagrimr about mercs and the marsh.
NW of there, by the docks, you can find (Rikulfr[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])
Buy everything, you can make a profit later when you recycle the equipment with a Rank 5 Repair skill and you might be able to upgrade your hird's gear with them. (When you recycle, you use the highest rank of your hird)

Going south from there starts (Best Served Cold[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])
You might want to save first, then come back to the docks for this event.

After the talks, go to the market:
500 valuables can buy you around 42 wood
50 wood can sell for 416 valuables
1500 valuables get you (42*3= 126 wood)
Paying 500 valuables gets you (200 wood = 1664 valuables-500=1164 valuables)
I went with the 200 wood, I can get more valuables later, selling medicine and stuff.
*You get better prices after returning from the Marsh and getting more Rep.

After that I went to the temple to save then east of there to continue the (Kill the Rats[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]) quest.

Enter the yard from the north then send 1 or 2 members to cover the west alley.
Dont fight them in their turf, move back north and block the NE street, they will come to you.
Sending the kids to your town gives you +10 Ribe Rep but you lose 5 Prosperity.. so thats a big no-go. Violence is the only answer. Im sorry.. Im so sorry ;_; (I did toggle non-lethal attacks)

(+20 Salvage +3SP)

Before leaving Ribe, I talked to the jarl about the marsh then opened the trapdoor (Ashes to Ashes[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]), got the key and the amulet, unlocked the house to the NE with it.

If you have more than 15 meat, you should sell the extra, as it will probably spoil in your next camp.

Before reaching the Marsh, I unoccupied a nearby camp to get rid of injuries and the exhaustion effect.

Ribe Marsh
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Marsh

The first quest I encountered was (Hel Hath No Fury), directly southwest from the entrance.
Recruiting him will not give you Skill points, so Capture or Kill him.

Next, (The Hunters in the Marsh[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]) (SW from entrance, other side of creek)
Because greed, I fought, walk to them and Finesse if you can.

You can control the Thralls, they can grapple, use it, dont let them die, they are valuable!
Watch out for traps!
You can let them go free or capture them, we need them to speed up constructions, Im afraid.

Go back to the north entrance then a little east to find a cabin you can enter, you can trade 1 Thrall for 3 Armor webbings and a slightly better conscience, after all the evil deeds I've done, I yielded to this one.

Keep going south and find a tree (Frail One).

Leadership 2 makes you share, which works and everyone gets saved, you'll get rewarded for this in Act 2

Going West of the tree will lead you to another cabin, nearby there are enemies.
(Monsters in the Marsh[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])
You can enter the house to SAVE and loot it for a substantial amount of valuables.
Go out to the campfire and if its nighttime, trigger the event, win and grab the loot!
Save at the house, the go SW from it to fight some wolves (+3 SP)

Go west and a little north to grab the area's Cairn (7/10)

That's it! Quick and easy, back to Ribe we go!

Ribe Return
Jarl talk, get handsomely rewarded. (Monsters in the Marsh)
Deliver quest to Brana, recruit her by giving her stuff back. (Hel Hath No Fury)
(Prosperity+3,SP+3)
[Power:13 / Prosperity:13]

Since now most merchants have generous prices, you should try and get rid of extra meat/medicine but not too much since you will get better prices back at your town, however, Brana has only a finite number of things to trade.
Check https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Homestead to see how much of a resource you need to complete construction and sell the rest unless you want to keep some for crafting.
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Crafting

Going to the temple, deliver the bark to continue (Frail One)
*2 hrs pass*

I then went to recruit mercs, I made a camper, someone specialized with Dane Axes and the last one was sword and shield, both warriors with a little hunting to deplete food stores in camps.

Ok, one main story mission left: The Tomb.
I still need to liberate 6 more campsites fo Eviction.
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Campsites_achievements_guide#Denmark:_Eviction

ok, I have around 20 days to complete the last 6 mainstory quest, time to camp and get all the food/wood we can while evicting plebs.

Make sure your hirdspeople eat meat before rations by clicking on the meat button then assign all.

On my way to the tomb, cleared out two more occupied campsites (4/8).

Skerninge
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Skerninge

If you dont have a way to disarm traps yet, skip the heirloom side quests for now and go to the Tomb to get SP.. well, you cant sell traps or recycle them so.. anyway, if you need resources, its time to go full murderhobo in here.

So, cuz I dont have disarm traps and want some, I went to the hamlet first, from the entrance, go east and try to avoid getting close to the men in front of the house.

When you get there, talk to "the Godi" about sacrifice (I feel a lil bit better on what Im about to do).
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Preparations:_Tomb_Raider
Talk to his son Grettir, he will approach you after Godi leaves, agree to the plan.

East of the hamlet, by a campfire, talk to Arnulfr.
(The Scoundrel's Flight[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])
If you go north from the campfire, following a road, youll find a Cairn (8/10) and your target will be all the way north in another camp.
I chose to stab the dude and let the woman go, proceeded to steal everything.
Return to the merchant his equipment to get (+5 Jelling Rep, +2SP, +5 Hides)
Part 4
The crusade is on!

Went to Godi to talk about a purge.
Going to the tomb entrance without the totem.
Stabby, stabby

West of the entrance, by a fork on the road, youll find a Cairn (9/10).
If you have found 9 Cairns, You'll get the Wayfarer achievement, the last Cairn does not count for the achievo.

Going back to the tomb entrance, I go in.
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Preparations:_Tomb_Raider
Grab your butts cuz its gonna get intense.
The waves come from diff directions and they attack the same turn they spawn, be careful.
Up, Right, Left, Up.
Getting the treasure will net you: Rite of Passage, 6k Val and 10SP.

(The Stolen Heirloom[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])
Alright! As you enter the map, follow the path east and see some people in front of the house, when you get close, some wlll run away, follow the pair to the NW.

Beware traps!
Using smokebombs/demoralize will force them come to you.
Going back to the house, talking to the guy, go find blue man, got it.
He is north from the hamlet (Meeting Site).
Try not to move too much during the surprise round, lots of traps here but do get near him, so he doesnt easily run away, try to stun lock him with Rebuke+Powerful Kick while you fetch the traps.
I got 9 traps out of 10, most are blocking the west entrance/exit.

Delivering the quest: (+5SP, +5Ribe Rep)

Its done!
My time: 3rd march
Act 1 ends when you talk to your mom about your trip after finishing the 3 storyline quests.

Do not do this yet!

You have until the dawn of March 18 to get back to your mom to end Act 1.
Use the time you have left to get resources from campsites/deliver the last sidequests/conquer the remaining campsites
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Campsites_achievements_guide#Denmark:_Eviction

Here are 5 of the eight camps, the other 3 are close to Ribe.
Winning all fights will net you Eviction

Spend your time clearing out occupied camps while hunting/scout for 2 days or until food runs low.
Remember that camping consumes 16 hours!

Dont forget to build stuff on your homestead page!
Thralls all the way to build except the last.
I was able to fully build the herb garden(had two upgrades already so 3 days), and the armorer (6 days). Built the first stage of the market(3 days) and before the time skip, started the first stronghold upgrade. (2 weeks). In total, I used 12 thralls since after the training ring.

Went to Ribe to sell medicine and rations to buy 5 Thralls for Act 2, had 9.5k valuables left, you dont really need to do this, but I wanted to have some just in case.

The prices at your homestead are determined by your prosperity not your reputation.
I had like 6 hours left before deadline :S

Grab your extra hides and herbs or whatever from your town before ending the act.
I also finally named the ship and got The Dragon achievement.

End of Act 1!
Act 2
So here we are, ready to sail.
You should talk to everyone to say goodbye but first go loot the town and if you were building something (hopefully the 2 week stronghold) you will find its completed!
So start a new one, since we have already built the things that give us bonuses like herbs or hides, we dont need to use thralls anymore unless you feel time runs short around august and you still need points fast.

[Prosperity:27 / Power:31]

As you sail off, you will achieve Viking.

Act 2 goes from April the 27 until 19 September 789, which means that you have 146 days to explore Britannia and build up your homestead. The endgame is available when you reach 100 power or 100 prosperity.

I suggest you focus on your planned prosperity buildings first, so you get better prices at your market if you decided to build one. The extra revenue from buildings get automatically added to your inventory, this means you dont have to come back weekly to grab your extra herbs or hides or whatever.

Scarborough
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Scarborough
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Parsley_Sage_Rosemary_Thyme

There is an achievement here, I decided to be peaceful and help the village.
Besides, helping out nets a cooperative translator which will be good in the longrun.

I decided to see if I can negotiate peace between the factions, while exploring the village I found a cross so I destroyed the pagan symbol (1/10), near there, you can go into a building to save your game and loot it, ofc.

A cairn can be found near the middle east map exit (1/14).

Near the bandit/merchant camp there is a pile, with enough finesse you can grab some loot without injury and start (The Wearh in the Woods[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])

In any case, you must decide to murder the "bandits" or the villagers, seems there is no other choice, I went with the villagers since they will give me more skillpoints. ah, the tough life of a Viking.

After talking to the mayor, the monk will ask to travel with you, allowing him gives you: The Travelling Monk

You also get 10SP for resolving this issue, this should put you around 175SP+ so you can upgrade to Rank 4 of several skills soon.

After this, you can now move around and do the rest of the area's quests.
If you see a name without having to put your cursor over the person, you can talk to it.

In the village, giving 20 wood and 10 salvage to the smith will give you (+5 Rep) (Fire and Steel).
Talking to the mayor will start (Wreck And Ruin[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])

Outside the wooden walls, you can find Esyllt to continue the Wearh quest and if you keep the jewels, you unlock (The Final Expedition[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]) which has an achievement tied to it.

Nearby, a guy named Osgar will come to start (The Seventh Commandment[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]), the guy is closeby, he had a better deal and like the greedy bastard that I am, i accepted, after a non-lethal fight, I got my silver.

Going down to the beach to continue with the Wreck quest, I decided to kick their ass, for profit, you know but then, they offered me free stuff, but it sucked, so I reloaded my save THEN kicked their ass, not for profit, but for honor. Returning to the mayor, refused the reward to get (+10 Rep)

Then, outside the village by the river, close to where Alvina is, found a corpse to start (An Axe to Grind[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]), grabbed the stuff off the small boat, talked to Alvina, kept the loot, got (+5 Rep)

Going west of the village, you'll see two women talking, they are directly left of the mayor's house, past the wall, wait a bit to start (Earth and Weald[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]), find the herb garden near the monastery entrance to grab the herbs and return to unlock a trader.

Finally, a very tricky act.. an exploit if you will, that will give you thousands of valuables.
From the monastery gate, go north and to this cliff, try to move around to remove the fog of war, move the camera until you see a rectangle highlighted, click on it and you will move a bit then you will load into the church! loot, go out, destroy the cross (2/10), then move your camera to an exit (stone or your boat or the mayor's house) click on it, and you'll exit the map.
https://youtu.be/honGSd2ZGXQ

Ok, time to get an island under our control, get to da boaaat!
*Note that using the boat to exit or the exit stones take you to different destinations.

Orkneyjar
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Orkneyjar

Sail north on the left of the map to Orkney.
Getting there, accepted the leader's invitation and near his house, got a shovel then went in.

North of him, there is a mound of dirt near some ruins, cuz shovel, got axe. noice.

Time for some treasure huntin!
Getting on the boat, I sail to the cave to get meh treasure. Treasure Hunter achievo.

Well, back to land. First stop, camp to the NW of Scar, get fed, healed, rested, then occupied camp south then York.

It might be best to go to Perth first to recruit Aife so you can have 1 more person during camps, but meh, ill go to York.

Market 2 Complete (+4 PR)
[Prosperity:31 / Power:41]

York
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Eoforwic_(York)

I wanted these guys on my side so I played along.
The Cairn (2/14) can be found NE near the entrance on this side of the bridge, going a little east, there's a mob. (Forbidden Tribute[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).
Non-lethal to get (+5Rep) and (3SP and +block amulet) and sweet loot from the defeated.

In the King's hall, we steal everything since we cant come back after talking to the king, we discuss politics and get rejected.. they will pay for this. Before you leave, talk to Leofric, this is the only time you can start (Champions League[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])

Exiting, Wada greets us but we aint following some chump yet, we got things to do.
Kyre can be found in the middle north of the map to start with (Lady Favours[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]), a quest! for a m'lady!

Grab your fedoras bois, we gonna go fetch item questin!

Now that's outta the way for now, Wada is nearby, might as well talk to him. Hope this isnt an ambush! Oh wait, it totally is. If you are having trouble with the fight, talk to wada coming from the other side (where only 2 spawn), so you force the others to get to you.

NE of the King's Hall there is a house you can enter but only with 3 people.
You'll come back here later, for now its a save point and a good dagger is here if you move the camera around for it.

Exit the map then come back in to spawn near Leofric and his quest.
Fight him, the bastard has 100% block chance make sure to bring shield hook.
Your reward? (+3SP) and a shiny new spear.

A2P2
Eventually, you will be pickpocketed, follow the girl and agree to join her uncle's crew to start (Unsavoury Dealings[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).
Be ware, every item you hand over to th uncle will give you -5 Rep in town, so, just dont do any of it for now, you will eventually get lots of Rep later which you can balance out with this.

A little south of there, you will find a burnt house and (From the Ashes[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]) will automatically start.

Found him south on the bridge and with a brisk slap, was generous enough to get him pay-free employment.

On the SW part of the city, near the docks and Edgar, there is a cross, vandalism! (3/10).
Bought the rights to dock for 2k valuables with Diplomacy 3, got +3PR.
[Prosperity:34 / Power:41]

On the NE side of the city, near the church, you can start (Red Wedding[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).
Its -10Rep for around 1.5k valuables, I decided to skip it.
Went inside church to loot, not bad.

Alright, time to go.

Yngilwood
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Yngilwood

Well, lets help Wada so we can conquer York.
(+5SP for talking to Waka waka) Starting (Ghosts of the Empire[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).
On 2nd thought, I wont be going to back to York just yet, so this quest will have to wait.

Outside the tent, talking to Cater starts (The Hunting Party)[expeditions-viking.fandom.com].

West of there, you can talk to tara to start (Snakes Among the Trees[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).

There is a cross in the center north of the map (4/10).
The cairn is west of the trader, outside the camp (3/14).

Going to the SW corner, you will find a fireplace, this is for the Snake quest.
You can set up traps if you want, with Diplomacy 2 you can get additional info on who the spy is.
Healing him (need Heal skill) after getting the info gives you (+5 Northumbria Rep)
I found the spy and let him go, man, Im getting soft.
Going back to report the spy is dead gave me (600$, +5 more Northumbria Rep, +3 SP)

Exited the area to save, then went SE of the camp to find the hunters.
After solving the mystery, go save because the next fight is tricky, since the little ♥♥♥♥♥ will try to run away. You can maneuver yourself to start the fight between them and the exit if you exit the map and re-enter. (Bow, +5 Northumbria Rep, +3 SP)

Done here for now, let's head north towards Perth, try and unoccupy occupied sites on the way.

Market 3 completed. (+6 PR)
[Prosperity:40 / Power:41]

During this trip, I finally romanced Ketrill and got Freyja's Touch.

Man, those wolf ambushes, if you get bad luck and get them, dont even go into the fight, close the game and reload, ironman will save as you enter the battle and you will probably will have a bad time, if you win though, sometimes you get SP and the hides/herbs of the event.

During camp, after a 3rd dream, you will start a fight and if you win, you'll get Einherjar achievo and a sweet spear.. oh boy! (Charge of the Einherjar[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])
Do not sleep in.

On my way to Perth, I got ambushed by Grianne, she pissed me off so I applied some nonlethal violence on her crew, her archers 1 shot me several times, had to reload a bunch until my demoralize worked and had a superb turn using a charging berserker and inspire, also.. bring waterskins and tonics.

Farm 1 completed. (+4 PR)

Perth
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Perth

SE from the King's Hut, infront of a house you can enter, there is a cross. You know what to do. (5/10) The house has nice stuff you can steal.

Talking to the King, he was pretty pissed I kicked Grain's ass, oops.
Read on the wiki, the outcome of being peaceful would be the same, maybe, I had fun winning the tough fight. OK, so...

Outside, you talk a bit then Aife approaches you, we let her join of course!
Following her to the middle north of the map, we speak with Suthen and the achievement for letting Aife join pops! The Tribal Huntress.

In the NW side of the map, you will see two captured men and start (Just Deserts[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])

[Prosperity:44 / Power:44]

Bought docking rights for 2000 valuables using [Diplo 3]. (+3 PR)
[Prosperity:47 / Power:44]
Found a shovel somewhere near a bridge.

Following the river south, found a guy who had the horn for (Lady Favors), [Diplo 2] gave me the horn free of valuables or violence.

Talking to a dude by a small boat, he took me to the other side of the river where, nearby, I met Uallach, bought 1 herb then that triggered (Witch's Curse[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).
Read the wiki for the locations, which are around town.
Reward: (+3SP,+5Rep, a morale amulet, better prices and some other goodies)

Talking to the Smiths apprentice about work with [Diplo 3] will get you (+5 Rep).

West of Peth, a new location appeared!
MacDomnaill's Farm
(Mac Taidg Must Die[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])
I could go all Assassin's Creed on this one but Ill go God of War instead.
The entrance chokepoint is great and theres plenty of cover, easy fight.
The 2nd fight is in a small space and you can only take 2 members with you.

Before you go, dont forget to grab the Cairn here in NE corner (5/14).

On my way back to Perth, while camping, Nefja started(The Helsott Curse[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).
I will do this quest along returning the talisman after I get it from the swamp.

Here King, have some head! (+5SP, +10Rep)
To find the druid we go!
Seahenge is NE of Perth by the coast but on the way you'll find:

Aberlemno Kirk
Anothe church where you lose reputation if you fight or steal, you can ignore.
Well, you can loot the rooms without people in them but its meh.

On my way to the coast, i camped and started Ketill's quest (Buried Past[expeditions-viking.fandom.com])

Seahenge

In the homestead, Ive never delivered such sweet swift retribution, man, i loved it.
Did you know you cant loot children's bodies? Well, i didnt until now.
Didnt kill anyone though.

Good old infanticide Skyrim jokes

Doncoirre Homestead
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Donncoirce_Homestead

You can find a cairn (7/14), a cross(7/14) and a runestone(1/7). The runestone and the cairn are close to each other and be found near the spawning point south in the area. The cross can be found in the centre of what was once the homestead, there is a nice amulet among the rubble.

Reward: (+3SP,+20Rep,Cool Sword)

Raider Camp
Going directly north, you can see the Raider Camp where we will finish with (A Gaelic Alliance[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).

Starting with some Dishonored shenanigans thanks to my high finesse, 2 men down and we sneaky sneaky around. If you hug the right side of the map, you'll find some thralls with [Leadership 2] you can convince them to join in the fight, but dont! Instead let them go to get reputation.
(+5 pict, +10 Gaels)

There are traps right infront of you in the first fight, be careful.

After the fight, smashed a head by throwing a huge rock onto the unsuspecting Viking below.
Going down to the beach and to the right, you can find an awesome shield, grab it, equip it, love it.
Went back to exit map and save, came back to kick butt, the two archers are a pain but if you have demoralize and waterskins for emergencies, they are not that serious of a threat.

Grab the king, lets get back.

After talking to the monk, went back to the entrance and followed the road.
At the gates, I was friendly to get entry but first I wanted to explore outside, so I went right from the entrance to meet Amber who gave me a quest (Time-Out[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).

Continuing north then east, grabbed the cairn (8/14) then went back into the fort to ask the merchant about Amber's bro, went south to Severina guarding the dungeons and using magnificent [Diplo 3], went down without a prob, down there, click on the walls to destroy them and dont forget to grab the ancient helmet.

You can miss this if you mouseover the skeleton and only get a description, you need to aim for the head.

Reward: (1374$, 3SP)
*Finally got enough SP for Repairing 5, so I started Salvaging everything I could.
At Rank 5, you get half an item's durability in Salvage/Hides (rounded up) when you recycle.

Going back inside and through the south exit and past the bridge, I ignored the soldiers for now and went east to find Beatrice to start (Seeking_Sanctuary[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).
Sorry my dudes, this is for the greater good and proceeded to incapacitate some soldiers.
West of that place, found the menhir for a tablet.
The tablet is near some square ruins in the northeast side of the map.

After that, went outside the map to save and came back, now to find the kidnapped in the SE part of the map (east of the refugee camp), remember to turn non-lethal on, move back and bunker down. Grabbed Rhea and returned to Fabian. (+3SP, 420$)

The tablet can be found near the Great Oak tree west in the area.

On my way to the campsite, I finished Piers. (+3PO)
[Prosperity:76 / Power:53]
Having 50+PO, during my next campsite I started (Ravaging of Wretched Heathens[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]), but I'll go do it after the Swamp.

Roadside Camp
A very special knife northeast of the map, its in the ground so you can only see, like a line.
its very close to the cairn (9/14).
One Massacre later, we are off to...

Swamp
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Swamp

The cairn (10/14) can be found southwest in the area near the abandoned tent, while the cross (8/10) can be found near the tower in the middle of this area.

Going south from the entrance, theres a camp and the menhir is here.
The tablet is NW from the tower

North of the camp, a wounded man asks us to help and we start (Roman Key[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]). Roskva heals him and we get (+5 Northumbria Rep).

Using a shieldwall and demoralize, its a long but easy fight.
Prioritize killing the axemen, caltrops work to keep them from surrounding you.
After the huge fight, we grab the key, the stash is in the tower.
Dont go to the tower yet, we have things to do.

West of there, we can fight several wolves, but if you approach from the north, you can use a chokepoint and two defenders for an easy fight. (+3 SP)

In the NW side of the map, next to the exit stones, a corpse holds your father's medallion to continue (The Final Expedition[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).

East of the marker, on the north side of the map, you can fight and dispatch two scouts.

I ambushed the Osred delegation on the west side, then massacred the Mercians because I couldnt recruit them. Got the achievement False Flag.

For example, we can now start the (Bounties[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).
Talking to Sicga outside, will start 5 new objetives.

At this point, go buy/sell stuff at the markets with your monies, we will lose Rep when we hand over the stolen items in a bit and raid the monasteries, so we might as well use our reputation now while we have it. Bought wood, valuables, herbs. Had around 53k valuables at this point.

Anyway, went to deliver the stolen things (Unsavory Dealings) and got even more money and (+5SP) but got -15 Rep.
Well, what do you know, 85 rep STILL gives us generous prices... huh..

Do NOT continue the Fort quest, we are just here to pick up some stuff.

The Menhir is in the southwest side of the map, close to the area entrance.

The tablet can be found in the north east of the village, you can click on the stash and you will get it without having to go inside the village, if you cant see it, go around the cliff until you do.

The cairn (12/14) can be found near the river on a rocky surface.
The cross (9/10) can be found in centre of the town, even though you cant get close to it without talking to the town's leader, if you click on it from far away, it will break.

You can grab a key off a corpse in the river, then go close to town and open a chest with it, you dont need to be able to get near it, if you see it, you can open it from afar. (see spoiler image above)

After going out, you will notice a new occupied camp to the west, we'll go there, (Got Hostile Takeover achievement) then if you head out west from there to another campsite, you'll discover Chapel Finian.

Close by, talk to Skallagrimr, the scheming lil ♥♥♥♥♥, to start (Ravaging of Wretched Heathens[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]) and access to Lindisfarne!

Lindisfarne
Do not leave this area without the cairn, the cross and the tablet.

On your way to the objective, you will be able to see a cairn (13/14) and the last menhir.
After the fight, destroying the last cross nets you Mocking the Cross achievement.

As you loot the church, breach the basement and come back on the other side, you will notice a new spot behind the church that is now highlighted. The last tablet is near there. Once you get it, a new quest will begin (The Isle of Apples[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]) and you will be awarded. (+5SP)

Back with Skallagrimr you will lose a lot of Britain Reputation but get (+10 PO).

Dun Phris
https://expeditions-viking.fandom.com/wiki/Fort_of_the_Thicket
Ok, here's the deal, we will take the hard way and help the town against BOTH invading forces.

But first, find the thralls for (No escape), we need those last +3 prosperity.

**If you are set in supporting only 1 faction now and get only 1 ending, you can do it now**

After that, go to town and talk to Aiblinn and secure an alliance with them.
I decided to attack the Northumbria camp first, then fight the Picts at the gates.
(+5SP, +10PO)
[Prosperity:97 / Power:112]

From this point on, you will be unwelcomed in York AND Perth until you side with one or conquer both. Time to go end this run, going to Scarborough to sail north.

Orkneyjar
Talking to the thrall merchant, we get rewards (+3SP, +3PR)
[Prosperity:100/ Power:112]
With 100k valuables plus a lot more resources, I could have bought 20+ Prosperity back at home, meh..this is the end and I had time to build everything with 5 or 6 weeks to spare.

Going inside the house, I can talk to Skallagrimr to choose a mission (100+ Power and sided with Dun Phrir), because we need to get to Hadrian's wall (for the last Cairn), we need to fight the Northumbrians (Punching Through[expeditions-viking.fandom.com]).

Since Im on ironman mode, the ending will be set in stone and I wont be able to complete the other endings, Ill go for the complete control of Britain. On my next playthrough, Ill speedrun Power 100 to get to this point again, save then choose one mission, win, go to the party, get the achievement, load to this point, choose the other, go to the party and thats it.

Hadrian's Wall
Lots of fights, the last cairn is on the other side of the area, you have to go around the fort.
Cairn (14/14) Pathfinder achievement.

After the big fight, you'll get the achievement Rats in the Wall.
Leofric has good loot if you killed him.

You can now choose to go to Perth or York, I want to defeat both, so York first.

York
Big fights! Big fights! Just great, death everywhere, this is war!
After the win, you can decide to ignore Skallgrimr and go to Perth to get the Pict Ally ending OR talk to him, then get on the boat and continue your conquest.

Perth

Once you report to Skallgrimr about your success and decide what to do next, you will unlock Wrath of the Northmen achievement.

Time to heal up then go back home to the Althing to end this.
