Insane Warrior Build - Blood Berserkers
By Lost Sinner
This is a hird/team build focus around warriors/berserkers on Insane Difficulty which team is composed of 2 berserkers, an executioner (who oneshot anyone), a shieldmaiden, a witch and an archer.

Unlike the Rogues who can deal crazy damage with the right setup (250~400), the Berserkers can constantly deal a high ammount of damage from time to time (130~200) which allow them to dominate the battlefield right from the start.

Berserkers will be the first to charge into battle, taking the fight to your enemies, using Berserk Tonic at the right moment and the battlefield will soon turn into a bloodbath in favour of the Zerkers. Then there is the Executioner whose expert is in handling the big bad: one hit one kill.

Shieldmaiden & Witch will provide support everyone with sweet buffs while your Marksman eliminating enemies key targets like (healers/archers) from afar.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
★ Berserkers:
  • Attributes: 10 - 8 - 4 - 6 - 1
  • Weapons: +Dmg
  • Skills: Axe - Dualwielding - Shield - Charge - Throw Rock - Backstabber - Bloodthirsty - Fortune Favor - Keen Eye - Sexist - Sneak Attack - Strider - Nimble - ...
  • Playstyle:
► Use Charge to engage on your enemies, most of the times you will one shot someone, you have 2 berserkers, make that kill counts up to 2 right off the bat. Use One-Two whenever you can, dont hesitate to hook enemies shield off, this team is full of damage dealers so its alright for the berserkers to play like a team player when they are needed. When you are outnumbered use Parry, you may be able to oneshot some unlucky dude and get Blood Thirsty for the next turn.

► Stack Tyr + Thor Favour and you will be unstopabble. Using Berserk Tonic also boost your damage up like crazy (x2 base dmg & reduces base DR to 0%) but you have to wait for the right moments. Only use the Tonic when you can finish all the surround melee enemies, doesnt matter if thier archers are present, just let your teammates create a human wall around you before ending the turn.

★ Executioner:
  • Weapons: +% Extra Attack ( easier to proc Relentless )
  • Skills: Shield - Sword - Throw Rock - Charge - Taunt - Hardened - Evade - Thick Skin - Nimble - Strider ,...
  • Playstyle:
► Another front liner whose expert is in one shotting everything and made to deal with tough individual swiftly. Using Execute from Sword (rank 5) , to mark a target for execute, if that target get damage by Asleifr, he/she will instantly die, combo it will Throw Rock (free attack), Asleifr can put down anyone you want in one single turn. Keep in mind that if you miss the rock or the attack is blocked, it wont execute the target, so you have to hook thier shield off first.

► Other than that, you can play him like an off-tank, use charge/shield-bash as a gap closer tool, use Taunt to pull key enemy to your hird, and make use of that shield to block enemy archers line of fire for your hird.

★ Witch:
  • Weapons: Any + Shield (+%block)
  • Skills: Heal(3) - Shield(2) - Galder(5) - Leadership(3) - Hardened - Evade - Low Profile - ...
  • Playstyle:
► Always stay behind, later on once you think she is tanky enough with shield and some passives, stay on front with others so Aife can proc her Lone Wolf passive. Heal teammates when they are injured.

► Always buff the team early on, with the help of Nefja. You should be able to get 2 buffs up early on I usually go with: Thor & Loki for offensive (20% dmg + 10% crit) and Tyr & Balder for defensive (25% DR + 100% Physical).

► Keep in mind that +25% DR from Tyr can help you bypass 100% DR which will make you extremely durable BUT:
♦ Any immobilised will reduce base DR to 0%. So if you are stunned or knocked down , you will die horribly even when you was having >100% DR. So dont go full aggresive without +100% Physical Resistance from Balder.
♦ Enemies with high Armour Piercing or Poison/Fire can still damage you. I've seen one hit me with +40 damage when i was having 108% melee DR.

★ Shieldmaiden:
  • Weapons: +% Extra Attack ( easier to proc Relentless )
  • Skills: Shield(2) - Galder(3) - Leadership(3) - Witchcraft (1) - Spear(5) - Charge - Hardened - Evade - ...
  • Playstyle:
► Nefja is a hybrid in this build. Only attack if its a confirmed kill for Nefja , otherwise help Roskva to support your team with sweet buffs, buff Tyr for defense, Thor for damage output, use Demoralise to shut down enemy archers and Inspire your ally.

★ Archer:
  • Weapons: +10% Dmg to Uninjured enemies
  • Skills: Bow - Walk your shot - Sharpshooter - Keeneye - ...etc (pretty much any offensive & ranger-related passives left)
  • Playstyle:
►You can replace Kentill with Aife , she is a little better in dealing damage with 2 Finesse higher than him. Unless you want a hybird ranger/healer then Kentill is your choice because he has 6 Sense , which allow him to use most of the Support skills.

► Stay behind & snipe key targets like archers or healers. Quickshot is your main damage dealing skill , Aimed Shot for long range targets. Most Archers/Healers wear light armor and have around 100~110HP , eliminate them!

► Use Ranging Shot to get enemies out of cover, dont hesitate to reposition for Aife safety then use regular attack, if lucky you will proc Relentless for an extra attack.

► Dont hesitate to attack in close combat either, you'll crit at melee range thank to a bow passive, you might want to use your shield fighters to proc enemy opportunity attack first, no reason to let Kentill eat that opportunity atk..

Isn't such low sense "crippling" the main character in terms of dialogue options? ive only seen it a few times but im not far into the campaign, currently in the marshes.
Started a new campaign based on your really interesting build guide but im already worried after i got no armor from the smith in skjern

Also, one question:

Other than variety, what is the appeal of using dual knife-wielders instead of dual axe-wielders as primary melee damage dealers? I tried both per your guides, and the dual axes are far superior. They 1) seem to do more damage in general; 2) add utility that knives lack; and 3) create builds that are far sturdier, because of the investment in Strength.

Just a comment:

For the bersker build, I tried both your build and the one outlined here that opts for no Perception but 10 Endurance and some Sense:

While your build did slightly better damage due to the ability to access Keen-Eyed, it felt generally inferior to the alternative because the alternative was so much sturdier and versatile due to the ability to access the blue tree. Just a friendly comment - do not take the comment the wrong way, as I profited enormously from your guides.

Where's the hardened skill?

my bad i mistyped, it should be just Nefja.

Good guide; however, it seems unclear to me which character is which class: You say the shieldmaiden is Asleifr and Eydis but you also say it's nefja.

this is certainly a decent party build. my preference would be to eventually make the witch good with a sling (grenade and fire work together nicely). also, if you plan to keep your shieldmaiden fairly well protected, you can make her a dual wield (dagger primary and axe offhand), and that will add even more offensive damage, especially to immobilized foes (stunned, knocked down, grappled).

"Is there a reason in particular why you suggest 6 perception on the main character?"

I can think of a couple:

perception comes into play during not a few dialogue interactions and in noticing things while marching around on maps. this is probably the main reason.

also, since they nerfed the damage bonus on harried to 20%, you actually get more benefit from eventually filling out the throwing line. it does decent damage for a free shot.

I've not yet actually played the game, but was planning on following your build for my first playthrough. Is there a reason in particular why you suggest 6 perception on the main character?
