Oh dang, there's a third box here.
Hell, let's do an infodump.

Before we start...

I'm not trading. This includes just offering to buy my items (this skirts Terms of Service and will be used to report you) or really, anything that means you want my TF2 items. No, not even if you're weally sewiously nice about it. Your comment will be deleted and you will be blocked. Instead, please consider playing a different game. For recommendations, check out the " Game Collector " tab below this text. Thank you for reading and understanding! Though if you still tried to ask about my inventory anyway, feel free to choke on some eggplant.

Basic Info

• Guides aren't happening for a while - the potential is difficult to tap at the best of times, and whilst I know folks liked the 1.2 guide for Hardmode, it's difficult to get something similar hammered out without feeling like I'll burn out like a damn fool.
• I record and edit videos a fair bit. I also like doing music extends. Feel free to comment on 'em. Just remember the key rule: don't be a ♥♥♥♥ .
• If you have some questions, feel free to ask! But also, remember the above regarding trading.

So what's happening now?

Whilst I'd been knee-deep in the aether of FFXIV :bartz: I've been making concerted efforts to get through my Steam library, either to work through gifts I've been given, hammer out stuff for games I bought in 2011 or so, or to break away from the "usual" games I've been wont to play over the years. Spelunky :spelunky: and Isaac :isaac: are good time-killers, but ya never know when you might have something like CrossCode :leacheese: lying in the library that absolutely needs a run-through. Even if such a run takes two working weeks to run through without taking screenshots.

FFXIV itself has successfully resolved in my mind. I've played through to Endwalker when it was new, I tried going back to it in the post-patch releases, but I think it's safe to say that Fflamgoch's journey has ended. That li'l spitfire's retired, having successfully saved the known universe, and whilst I'd like to get my White Mage Au'ra through Endwalker too just so she can punch Zenos in his stupid face, I'm just not feeling the direction the game's taken since I stopped playing. Off the treadmill after six years, and suddenly there's just so much time for other stuff! I wouldn't say for a SECOND that the time was wasted, given how many friends I made over the years, but I can definitely appreciate getting my time back to play other games.

Part of my free time has been spent furiously filling out a Backlogg'd page. It's not utterly comprehensive, as I've only added games I remember beating or dropping, and everything before 2010 is a bit of a haze, but there's over 270 games listed on there so far, and there's more to come as I try and work through the library some more! Give it a look here if you're interested: https://backloggd.com/u/Jakebob/

Oh and if you're interested in peering through the big ol' Screenshots folder, there's unmarked spoilers for a LOT of games in there. Not for lack of trying of course, but Steam removes the spoiler-tag things after a fortnight, and not only can I not re-add those tags, it's too much work to go digging for things that may or may not spoil story stuff in some games. You Have Been Warned.

There's some more Worm customization in the form of silly hats that you can post to Steam (one of my friends' hats is still high-up on the Most Downloads list last time I checked!), but the downside is you can't add voice-banks and custom graves in the same way as you can silly hats. I wanna say I imagine you could do the old Armageddon thing of just putting the files into the folder and having it work that way, but I've never really tried to modify it much.

I will say though, W.M.D. is definitely head and shoulders above Worms Reloaded (which was generally alright for the time), and one of the main gimmicks (craftable weapons) can be disabled, if that's not your bag.

W.M.D., no contest. The 2016 dev-team at Team17 saw one of Armageddon’s favoured mechanics (the roping) and aimed to emulate those as best as they could, whilst giving a bit more leeway in how they work. No more of Reloaded or Revolution's limp-noodling; you can see some truly off-the-wall flings and tricks in W.M.D. because they made parachutes more freely usable whilst roping (as opposed to needing to break the fling with a wall)

It's not flawless , of course. My group encountered desync here or there, and had softlocks when carpet bombs decided to just be carpet, whilst Armageddon was built with packet-loss as just part of online gaming, and could easily deal with the odd mess-up here or there. And softlocking Armageddon requires fiddling with internal values not usually accessible to casual players to really cause a breakage, like when we softlocked because of high air friction and arrows not exploding: https://i.imgur.com/UtIDKmh.png
