A true classic of the Metroidvania genre. Narration is top notch, with interesting characters to follow and a very good world building. Antagonists, like Agent Black, Chrome, Mother or the final boss, are very well written.

This is a must play if you are a fan of the genre.

Surprisingly depressing. It really takes you through a journey that I wouldn't recommend for everyone (depending on mental fragility), but if you want to fight to save the world and are okay with fighting through some personal darkness, dig in. It's a good game, and certainly worth the time.

A 90%-puzzle 10%-combat metroidvania. The bossfights have gimmicks that make them their own puzzles. The level and puzzle design feels good, but as is typical with metroidvanias, I was confused at a couple points about where to go next, thankfully it resolved with a bit of luck and combing around.
The world and character art is very detailed without sacrificing playability. The upgrade (tweak) system was not gamechanging and I didn't even touch it for the second half. Animation in gameplay and in-game scenes was some of the best ever. The distracting character proportions, in my opinion, tailor towards a less-respectable audience, limiting who I would recommend this game to. The designs are more than just that, thankfully.
The game is very story-centered, and has a lot of dialogue-only scenes. I think it succeeds in its comedic and dramatic moments, and I was captured by the world's conflict. The story involves numerous warring ideologies (separated from any real-world religions afaik,) and goes deeper than just those who erect idols and those who destroy them. The character drama and negativity was nonstop, but considering the world's state it didn't seem over the top.
Not the kind of gameplay I would get in to but everything else the game had to offer was enough to keep me having fun and eager to see the conclusion.
