I mean, I 've been playing this game almost since it got released. Lots of hours wasted, lots of fun stuff have happened in PUBG's battlegrounds. Unfortunately, I will have to say that it's one of the best battle royals in the market, that focuses on gun-play, and not on building mechanics, or magic spells or whatever. That says a lot, because ...

On the downsides, the game has a lot of cheaters, even with the 3-4 anti-cheats they have added into the game. Bugs and crashes are not uncommon, even on high-end rigs. For a new player, up to level 80, you will face mostly bots on your games - and there is nothing you can do about it. Finally, the company is extremely greedy, which is reflected upon their market, that is filled with overpriced digital clothing and skins, that many of them are not even marketable.

If you have friends to play this game, go ahead. Otherwise, stay away from it, as far as possible.

Overall I give it a nice 6/10.

FromSoftware built upon the foundation that made it successful, and invested in the formula that has made so many successful games till now.

Visually the game is very similar to Dark Souls 3, but with slightly improved textures. Certainly graphics are not next-gen, but for 2022 it is very decent. Music is as usually insanely good.

Content-wise the game has hundreds of hours upon hours to offer, since there are much more stuff to explore in the lands between than what meets the eye. Exploration is greatly rewarded through quests, items and new bosses/mobs/areas that you can meet. Nevertheless, it is worth mentioning that some of the bosses and mobs have been used again and again throughout the world, something which even though is not pleasant to see, it is not massively over-done.

Now, for the technical aspects, locking system and camera movement have slightly been improved since DS3. but nothing ground-breaking. There are unfortunately still fights (especially with bigger folks) where the actual fight is with the camera, and not with the boss itself. As for the locking system, it is a bit "smarter" than before, in the sense that it doesn't lock to the wrong enemy as much as it did before, but it can occasionally bug out, and lock in the wrong enemy, or stop locking mid-fight for no apparent reason. The stupid camera reset doesn't make that easier either. Furthermore, it's worth noting how aggressive the input-based decision making of some of the bosses - and especially - mobs can be. Sometimes you might start smashing your attack button in the air, and 10 meters away, there would be mobs dodging your "attacks", even though they are not even being attacked in the first place. Also AI can get stuck, or bug out in certain occasions, giving the players easy ways to cheese their way out. Ridiculous stuff.

As for the open world now. The OW part of the game is beautiful. It's aforementioned variety helps a lot to feel immersed into the game. Nevertheless, if somebody expects to see a so well made open world as RDR2's one, then you won't find it
here. In elden ring the open world is 100% scripted, and interactions between low-level enemies are usually repeated as soon as you touch grass (same as with previous FromSoftware games). Therefore the open world here is to support the game's variety in terms of space, and not to give you an 100% immersive experience.

Finally, I would like to talk about the game itself. It is certainly the ultimate playground for the Souls players. Everybody who has played DS, BB or Sekiro will lose the sense of time in this game. But at the same FromSofware manage to add mechanics that allow players that do not have any previous experience with Souls game, to enter its wonderful world. Nevertheless, the game isn't perfect. There are issues with it, some of which have been mentioned above. What FromSoftware did, was to deliver what it promised, which unfortunately in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gaming industry phase we are going through, this was over-praised by many.

So to conclude ... the game is not the best game ever made. It's not perfect, and it's not the best open world ever made. But it damn is a great game worth buying.

P.S I wholeheartedly hate Maliketh.

In the grand 2025 the game is finally at a very good place.

The writing and environment is NOT as good as Witcher 3. The RPG mechanics and importance of decisions are ALSO not as good/important as W3. In general, it's a much worse game than W3 in every aspect other than graphics.

Nevertheless, if we zoom out from the RPG aspect, it's a solid game overall. Story is decent, graphics are good, and it does feature a few different endings depending on your actions. If you are gonna buy it I would recommend to wait for a sale though, in order to snatch the DLC as well. The DLC features its own standalone story, and it also adds one more ending to the base story.

Even for today's standards, a pretty solid souls game.

Graphically the remaster seems OK, considering when the game was made. Map design is fine, but the inability to warp in the early-game is quite a deal breaker for me. Nevertheless, nexusmods can help you with that.

Boss movesets and music are amazing as usual, even though I felt that the difficulty of the bosses is lower than what it is on DS3 for example. Additionally, enemy attack speed is significantly slower than newer installments of the series, which also lowers the difficulty a bit.

All in all, I wouldn't choose it for my first Souls game (if I could go back in time that is), but if you have already played DS3, consider it as your number 2 before you jump into DS2.

A truly amazing Mafia game. It really has everything. It has good graphics, good game mechanics, a great story, and it also takes place at the most iconic and memorable period of mafia, which is during the prohibition era.

It IS the best of the 3 Mafia games, and if you are up for buying one of them, make sure it's this one. Truly a bang for your buck.

Hold on ... the game is not bad.

The game has an amazing story (excluding the end). Mission writing is equally good to the first mafia game. Gun-play is equally good, while the world's atmosphere albait a little stale, feels nice.

The problem with this game, is it's gameplay. The way the story is laid out, makes you feel more like a taxi driver rather than mafia guy. From the 15-20 hours you are gonna need to finish the game, more than half of them you will spend them inside a car of yours, going from point A to point B. At this point, I think i can go to Joe's place with my eyes closed, from any point of the map. The game unfortunately doesn't offer a "teleport" option (like in Mafia I) either, in order to skip a few known and boring rides.

And if that wasn't enough, the game has awful checkpoints as well. The developers have put very few checkpoints during missions, which is not necessarily bad, but they have put those few checkpoints at very awkward places as well. Meaning that if you die, you might need to re-drive back to the mission's location, re-watch (thankfully skippable) cut-scenes, and sit back during scripted portions of the missions. In general if you die during a heated mission, you usually have to waste a few minutes to go back to where you were.

Additionally, I would like to talk about the game's "remastered" aspects. The game has a bunch of glitches, some of them that seem to have been transfered straight from Mafia II classic as well. Additionally, character graphic glitches are prevalent from time to time as well, breaking any immersion that you might had at the moment. In general, it's not a good "remastered" game. The developers treated this remaster as a cash-grab, since they just did a reshade, repacked the game with zero changes, and shipped it back as something new, which is totally a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lie.

Finally, what the hell did they do to my boy Joe? The ending was pretty bad and inconclusive, leaving you with a cliff hanger, which is implied, but never going to be clearly laid out. Everybody can think for themselves what's gonna happen to both Joe and Vito. It's a linear game, therefore I would have liked a linear and straightforward ending as well.

To conclude, playing this game is not going to be a very happy journey. Especially after the second half of the game, in which you are going to start getting frustrated more and more with some of the stupid game mechanics. Nevertheless, if you really really want some mafia dose in your system, make sure you have played Mafia I first, and then buy this (ON A SALE) as well.

I wished I could put a "mixed" rating on this one.

Half of the game is good. The (open) world is very well made, and feels alive and vibrant. Driving around the city doesn't get boring, and vehicle handling feels pretty solid. Gunpay is also really good, and there are many weapons to choose from, for any type of playstyle you wish to choose for your mission.

The issues start with the technical aspects. There are a lot of glitches and bugs. None of them are gamebreaking, but they might make you reload to checkpoint, or break any immersion you might have. Also the game was certainly rushed out for release, and missing assets (such as weapon sounds) can attest to that. Personally I didn't have much stuttering but a few noticeable FPS drops .. but keep in mind that I rock a 3060. So some noticeable FPS drops in my case, could be much much worse in an older generation GPU.

Furthermore, the story is ... very mehh. Lincoln Clay (our protagonist in this game) doesn't have a clear path. He wants to take revenge for the deaths of his loved ones, but instead of killing the people responsible for the death of his family (the Marcanos), goes on a rampage spree to kill everybody else in his criminal organization first, so that he can take all their rackets and consequently their criminal income. After a point you realize that there is no difference between Sal Marcano and Lincoln Clay ... therefore our hero kinda becomes what he hates the most. The writers knew that this is the case. So what the writers do to fix the problem ? They just slap some racism to the mix. They make Sal Marcano a racist ♥♥♥♥, and they make his associates racist ♥♥♥♥♥ as well, with some of them having direct relationships to KKK. That way the writers give you a motive to kill these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It's clear that this is the reason that they made the protagonist black as well, just so they can somehow excuse their atrocious writing on this one. The connections to the previous title was a nice touch though, both with the feature of vito in it, as well as to the subtle show up of both Leo Galante and Joe.

Now ... let's talk a little bit for the missions. There are a few different types of missions in this game. But the main one goes as follows:
1) Drive to X place to kill Y person and cause damage to the Z criminal racket.
2) Make the under boss mad for the damage you caused.
3) Go and kill the under boss.

This setup is what you do mission-wise from beginning to end of the game. Thankfully there are breaks between them ... but the repeatability of this game is killing some of its other (really good) aspects. I think that if you are more mission-oriented, you should go for the DLC missions somewhere in the middle of the game. Their missions are much more enjoyable than the main thing.

Overall I think it's a nice game if you don't take it too seriously. It has a lot of issues, both in the technical and story departments, but I personally STILL had fun for 30-something hours, so I would certainly recommend it to Mafia lovers - but do buy it on a sale, not full price.

Battlefield 1 decided to take things differently. Instead of introducing one concise campaign, with specific characters that would accompany you from beginning to end, they decided to break it down to smaller stories, with different characters, different paths on different places around the world ... but with one common goal.

Starting off with the graphics, they look good. Even after 6 years (writing this review) they still look gorgeous on max settings. The options are good as well, and they let you customize different options of the game.

The campaign of the game is really sweet. The various mechanics of war are polished. Everything from flying airplanes to driving cars and tanks is smooth. The stories of the characters are quite short, and therefore you don't really connect with the protagonists. Shooting and gunplay has been COD'ified a lot, and it's like run and gun; nevertheless the devs have found a good sweet spot, and it's not completely ridiculous.

Going to the mutiplayer now .. things start to roughen up. The only really good thing about the BF1 multiplayer, is that it really gives you the feeling of chaos that happens on war. You might fight on a trench with your comrades, and planes are shooting and dropping bombs at you, tanks are shooting at you, enemy infrantry is shooting at you ... even boats might shoot at you. The game even has a flying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Zepelin. In general, it really feels like being in the BATTLEFIELD .. just in a more casual setting. Also playing with friends can be extremely fun, due to the squad system that battlefield has implemented, so keep that in mind if you want to go on an adventure with the lads.

Here is where the good things end though. To start things off, no anti-cheat means that on every server there is at least 2-4 cheaters per game. There are very few game modes, and most people are stuck playing conquest over and over game. You'll be bored out of your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mind within 2 hours or so max. Also, despite what steam charts are saying, you'll usually find 2-3 servers maxed out on a Friday evening (which is around 120 players), and that's about it. You managed to hop on a session in time ? Good. If not, sorry ... all other servers are empty, so you cannot play. Ohh ... and I forgot ... you can also spawn horses in battlefield in order to use them as a means of transportation and attack; the fun thing about them though, is that when you are riding them, you get a huge damage debuf from enemy players, and therefore you have legitimate god mode ... you can just run, kill somebody, and then run again to hide ... not even tanks can stop you. Amazing stuff.

To conclude, I do recommend this game mostly for its single player experience, as well as spending perhaps a few hours on a Friday-Saturday night on multiplayer. Don't take the game too seriously ... but certainly take it on sale; it ain't worth 400 bucks, that's for sure.

This game is hot-trash ... therefore lets speed-run this review.

Starting off with the single player ... what Dice (and EA) did, was to go to BF1, copy their assets, copy the original campaign ideas, and then attempt to make them different. The result was a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stories that made me scroll reddit during the cut-scenes. The missions are an absolute bad copy of BF1, with many immersion-breaking glitches such as enemies spawning and de-spawning in front of you, weapon selection being stuck and needing to restart the game (happened twice on the last tank mission). Gunplay is atrocious as well. For some reason they thought that adding more aggressive weapon spread and recoil would be better, like what ??

Multiplayer is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as well. Maps are very badly designed, including spawn points, terrain ... nothing makes sense. And to top it off, on every game there are at least 5-10 cheaters raging and shooting through smokes, ending their match with close to 100 kills .. but no biggie, anti-cheat and game servers see no problem ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't buy this trash. Save your money, and buy BF1 on sale. Yes, there might be fewer online players at times, but better game + better story + less cheaters on multiplayer.

The game lacks on several areas. The open world feels completely artificial (same as God of War). It's there to just tick a box, and If that's Sony's view of a good open world game, I pity them.

Now, combat is sluggish. Doing anything else than shooting arrows will make you bang your head against the wall. Executing special killing animations will make Aloy teleport to the location that it "should have been", like it's a 2013 game. No smooth animations to make up for it. Combat on your mount has only 2 possible moves you can do. Both are extremely buggy, and no guarantee that they will work, since you might glitch through the enemies.

Talking about the mount ... moving around with it is so damn awful. It looks like they wanted to do a movement type such as the one you see on RDR2, but they failed miserably at it. Moving your mount around is like trying to move a huge ass truck on a tiny road: impossible.

Where the game really shines though (and it's the reason I gave it a positive review) is the graphics and the story. The graphics look absolutely amazing, and it's hands down one of the best looking games (if not the best) I have seen so far in 2022. As for the story, even though it starts in a very stereotypical way, it does surprise you, and it makes you anticipate as to what's up next. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that bow customization, clothes, upgrades ... are all really well made, and I liked the "character" progression elements as a whole.

Overall I think that the game is nice, but not good nor great. It looks more like a shined demo of an open world game, where the company has setup everything else BUT the open world part, and they are ready to give some footage out for the people to pre-order. In any case, not bad. Worth a buy ... but do yourself a favor, and don't get it full price.
