I understand a lot of negative reception this game received. It's not the same devil may cry that fans were used to. Everytime this game does something right in a certain field, it does something else wrong in that area.
-Aesthetics; very bland and generic, yet used quite well in the aspects of gameplay, enemies pop into the foreground, interactables are easily visible etc.
-Combat; really good combos and the weapons can be fun to use, but even on hard difficulty this game is laughably easy.
-Dialogue/writing; great when the actors are hamming it up, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ when it tries to be serious.

I have never seen a game this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bipolar before. In the end I'd say the positives outweigh the negatives. I know that pisses off my fellow DMC fans but it's the truth.

DMC 1 and 3 are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing. They have the perfect blend of challenge and combos that will make your pp hard.

I probably have more fun with this game than I should. Its got shockingly good gunplay.
Do yourself a favor. Go to instant action, set it to point match. Set the bots to something like 300. Turn off vehicles. Set the weapons so that Raven only has sabers. Move the balance bar about 3/4 of the way to the right. Start the match and try to survive the horde. Bring an ammo pack.

Good fasts, good booms, good times.

Surprisingly not bad. Though I would easily drop the campaign for a return of Galactic Conquest from the original BF2

You really just had to add some characters from FF14+15 and call it a day. The 3v3 is really neat addition too. But rather than expand on the amazing framework that duodecim 012 built, they tore it all down. It's not bad, it's just not nearly as good as the previous game. Real shame. You can definitely see Koei-Tecmo's handiwork in it too. Big ole tiddies and costume DLC everywhere. The former is nice, I guess, everyone likes knockers. But the DLC is pretty absurd, especially considering the "Deluxe" edition doesn't even come with all the characters.
It's a shame I have to give this game a thumbs down. I was really looking forward to it.

Eh, I would say get this game if you DO NOT have civ 5 + dlc. Otherwise skip it. It's so similar to civ 5, and it's new features aren't distinct enough to make it stand out. In fact the only way to tell you're playing civ 6 is by looking at the god awful leaders. They looked weird but unique in civ 4, and nice, clean and realistic in civ 5. In this one, they just look like ♥♥♥♥♥♥ disney characters.

It's exactly what I wanted. Just Warband with better graphics and few new features. They left the core gameplay (mostly) untouched.
