I want to recommend this game so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad. But the bullet sponge enemies that start plaguing it half way through the campaign is just ridiculous. There are excellent light and medium enemies throughout the whole game, with good enough AI that will punish you for camping a piece of cover or spread out if you go guns blazing. But the big ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who just sit in front of you and soak 40 shotgun shells casually really bring the game's pace and style to screeching halt.

Perhaps the most asinine setup for a fighting game ever. To see such a venerated franchise fall so low is truly disheartening. Capcom dropped the ball with this one, utterly pathetic.

Early Access Review
A surprisingly good puzzle game, it's also good for... other things.

I spent most of my DoW1 time on the physical version of Dark Crusade, probably about 200 hours, and however much time I played it back in high school with friends. This really is a RTS masterpiece, and there are plenty of mods that keep it alive in this modern era (especially the camera mod, a must have). A few balance hiccups don't keep this game from getting an A+. Good for single player or multiplayer. It's a shame that it was wasted on the childish WH40k setting, with an even more childish fanbase. I swear, WH40k fanboys are worse than sonic fans with how rabid they are. Still, it's master class RTS, you'd be hard pressed to find better.

As a 4.1 veteran I can appreciate the changes and QoL improvements they made. They certainly are paying attention to what needs to be addressed and what should stay the same. All classes have broader capabilities now but their roles are still well defined and fill different needs. Ranger doesn't suck anymore too.

This game is fun. But it isn't very good. I know that sounds weird. Now there are a lot of elements and core mechanics in this game that are solid and spot on. They function, they do what you expect them to do, and are understandable in consideration of the aim of this game. That said, a lot of that stuff isn't really fleshed out. There's not a lot of meat on this game's bones. Can't complain too much given the $40 price tag, a very, very fair pricing. Outward is one of those games where one moment you're all like "hey that's cool that they have that kind of thing in here!" but then you turn the corner and go "you know they should add a X or maybe they could use a Y instead of a Z".

In the end, the game's charm and originality seal the deal. I'd put it up there with Kenshi, Mount and Blade, and Morrowind, yeah one of THOSE games. You know what I'm talking about it, but you just can't give it words. I hope they use this game to learn and create an even better sequel.

Don't buy this for the story. The generic voice actors and loads of text don't do it any favors. However, the character creation and stylish combat are top notch!

A Hat in Time is an excellent 3d platformer. Fluid and logical controls conditions your mind to understand that any failure is your own. A wealth of levels with all sorts of challenges (greatly augmented by the expansions) is properly supported by character customization in different hats and badges with different abilities. The only blemish on this otherwise squeaky clean game is the occasional bug or two, especially with split screen.

Most of this stuff is great, I was looking forward to multi-crew the most though. It was broken at launch, not only does it hardly ever work, but there are almost no rewards for the other players. It's absolutely a waste of time. It really upsets me.

Pretty darn good game. Lots of customization and build options. The weapons are all significantly different from each other, yet all are pretty fun to use. Most people tend to gravitate towards 2 or 3 weapons they use most of the time. I've sunk a load of time into this game and there is still some stuff I have yet to do. This game is worth more than its asking price.
