  • Updated for 1.10.x.

Overview
  • Countries that don't wear western style clothes can change the outfits of their characters and pops to European styles via a journal entry.

  • Customize general and admiral uniforms as well as late era uniforms (requires SoI DLC) according to colors and accessories (image 2 to 10).

  • This mod is inspired by @Snori and @1230james's Western Clothes: Redux and uploaded with the permission from the authors. It has less flexibility but it's more lightweight and use different outfit templates. For more details, please see "Comparison with WCR" below.

Details
  • Use the decision to activate the JE when the conditions are met.

  • The decision is available to countries that have at least one primary culture whose characters and pops don't wear western clothes.

  • Select different uniforms via JE buttons.

  • The selected styles can be changed anytime before the JE is completed, so you have enough time for a "try on".

  • The dressing habits will change gradually as the JE progresses. Additionally, Japan and Great Qing will also change their hairstyles.

  • It only affects characters and pops that don't wear western clothes, e.g., European characters in an Asian country are untouched.

  • AI countries might also take the decision. The chance depends on factors like literacy rate, IG clouts, overlord, etc.

  • AI countries will choose the default styles or a few fixed combinations. If their overlords are westernized, there is a chance they will choose their overlords' styles.

  • The following AI countries are excluded, as they are westernized via vanilla events:

    • AI Korea, if Korean Empire has been declared.
    • AI Japan, if Honorable Restoration has been completed.
    • AI Persia, as it has unique modern uniforms.

Sub-mod: Customize Uniforms
  • Allow player to customize uniforms anytime.

  • Non-western countries must finish the above journal entry first.

  • You need to subscribe this sub-mod: Customize Uniforms

Comparison with WCR
  • This mod has less complexity, flexibility and game rules, e.g.:

    • You can't customize AI's behaviors.
    • It doesn't have special rules for other mods.
    • It checks less unique outfits.
    • It doesn't have special events, etc.

  • This mod uses new scripts and texts:

    • It's more performance friendly.
    • Vanilla redundant and nested triggers were removed or optimized.
    • It uses different outfit templates with only vanilla texture.
    • The conditions for the journal entry to be activated and be completed are different.

Compatibility
  • No vanilla files were overwritten, so it should be compatible with most mods.

  • However, it might not work well with mods that have similar features.

Localization
  • English, Chinese.
    Other languages use English text.

Please make sure the mod has been updated to the latest version. Steam often doesn't download updated mods.

Both mods work like this:
Remove current clothes -> Apply new clothes
So using both mods won't cause any errors but only one of the two outfit templates will work at the same time.

Can it be use alongside Western Clothes: Redux (WCR)? I saw that this mod is an inspiration of WCR, just want to know if I can use both without issues.

quick issue, this seems to mess up character-specific accessories, bear with me as it's highly specific

since sphere of influence there are certain characters that wear modern/western style clothing that have their own unique character-specific accessories

the one specifically i'm referring to is Reza Pahlavi, he appears in 1915-19 in Persia, and leads Armed Forces IG

once i begin westernization, all of his character unique accessories disappear.

@ks.kyisin It should have been fixed after today's update, try unsubscribing and resubscribing the mod.
