Thank you for updating.

Version 1.6.3
Reworked colour gradient setting
Syrus  [author] 6 Aug @ 2:16am
Yes, it has been implemented in base game.
But this mod allows adjusting the ranges of the colors and the colors themselves.
It also adds a widget to display the outdoor temperature and numbers over the rooms.
And itoffers a finer range of colors for the comfortable range of temperatures, making cool or hot rooms more noticeable.

It's mainly a thing of preference, I'd not want to miss this mod even with the vanilla implementation. Just used to how it works
MadMage 5 Aug @ 5:01pm
This might be a derp question, but... is this mod implemented in the core game? I was testing some things with this mod off and I still had a 'heat map' option with this off and no mods whatsoever.

Is this redundant/obsolete?
bigfoot3.1415926 22 Jul @ 2:19pm
Good news, I figured it out and it was a real facepalm moment. Somehow the heat overlay had become unticked in all those icons in the bottom right. I swear I don't remember turning it off. I knew it had to be something on my end. Thanks again for trying to help me.
Syrus  [author] 22 Jul @ 12:50pm
@bigfoot3.1415926
You could also try verifying game files.
Also, can you post a screenshot of your settings?
bigfoot3.1415926 22 Jul @ 12:41pm
Tested a new game with just Core, Harmony and this mod running and it still doesn't work. I tried unsubscribing and resubscribing, I even tried the (1.6 temp) version and nothing seems to fix it. I'm just going to forget about it for now, since it is obviously something on my end and not yours because no one else seems to be having this problem. Thanks for listening and trying to help.
bigfoot3.1415926 21 Jul @ 3:31pm
I'm playing normal base map crash landed scenario. This is a good idea with adding/removing mods to see what's conflicting it, I'll try that tomorrow and report my findings.
Syrus  [author] 21 Jul @ 3:17pm
@bigfoot3.1415926
In what specific circumstances? Normal base map, space, second colony, ... ?
Any errors in the debug log?
If using other mods, check in a new game if it works (using the same mod list). If it does not work, try without any other mods and then readd the mods until it breaks to find any incompatibilities.
bigfoot3.1415926 21 Jul @ 2:08pm
Anyone else not having the indoor overlays show? I've flicked every option I can think of and nothing seems to work, the only thing I get is the temp widget in the top right corner for outside areas
Thank you for making this update. Love having this back.

Version 1.6.2
Fixed widget and room temperature displays not drawing in space
Biggie 17 Jul @ 12:18pm
Sorry for late response: Hero for Fun has clarified the error I am encountering. Thank you both for responding
Dirigible 17 Jul @ 6:52am
I've got the issue Hero for Fun describes but on the ground. It was working earlier today, too. Only thing I remember doing is switching some mods around so I think it's a conflict, maybe not anything wrong with this mod itself
NuanKi 16 Jul @ 8:59pm
HugsLib removed? :steamhappy:
Thanks for that
tokara 16 Jul @ 4:31pm
Do hotkeys not work in space maps, or is it just me?
Syrus  [author] 16 Jul @ 2:53pm
Not sure what may be causing that. Got some suspicions, but in the end I will need to test it directly. Not today though
Hero for Fun 16 Jul @ 2:41pm
No it's both. The widget in the top right and the values in the rooms. Only the icon in the bottom right and color scheme in the rooms is present upon clicking it. This is all in space mind you, the mod seems unaffected on land.
Syrus  [author] 16 Jul @ 2:35pm
So...it's not the widget in the top right corner that's missing but the temperature display over the rooms?
Hero for Fun 16 Jul @ 2:34pm
@Syrus None that I can see. You don't see values for rooms, but the colors are still there so if you know them you're good.
Syrus  [author] 16 Jul @ 2:21pm
Do you get any errors?
Hero for Fun 16 Jul @ 12:54pm
@Syrus Can confirm the icon in the lower right works to display heat zones, it's just the widget on the top right that is no longer present in space. Thanks for updating!
Syrus  [author] 16 Jul @ 11:21am
What doesn't appear? The thermometer widget? The heat map icon in the lower right?
Does the vanilla temperature map work on asteroids (when disabling this mod)?

Don't own Odyssey, can't test these scenarios myself.
Biggie 16 Jul @ 2:16am
Not sure if it's been asked already: But this doesn't appear when in space on asteroids, etc. Is this a bug or WIP? Thank you for your hard work o7
Insanococo 14 Jul @ 4:42pm
Thanks so much for this and Light Map:lunar2019coolpig:
Pablo Kickasso 14 Jul @ 3:29pm
Thank you so much @Syrus! I genuinely thought they'd be adding this in vanilla and only had a very sad "oh no... no..." when planning out farming zones and didn't have the Heat Map.
Jordan Davis 14 Jul @ 1:32am
thank you, this mod is a god send when they added it as a vanilla feature they forgot the most important parts that this mod adds
Carlie 13 Jul @ 6:57am
Works fine! Thanks mate!
robotic 13 Jul @ 6:56am
Thank you!

Version 1.6.0
Removed HugsLib dependency
Overhauled settings & code / project

---

Let me know if anything breaks.
Smiley Face Killer 12 Jul @ 5:34pm
Yea it's so rough without this. Base game's implementation is god awful in comparison.
Can't wait till you get time to get around to updating this one
BigAl 12 Jul @ 10:20am
No idea how people play without this. Took me a while to work out how to see Temps on vanilla HUD
Kham 12 Jul @ 5:20am
I would love if hugslib dependency got removed in the update. This is the last mod in my list that still need hugslib. Take your time on the updates though, really appreciate your work. :)
Osium 12 Jul @ 12:24am
@Syrus dew eeet. ;)
p1 12 Jul @ 12:15am
Only now that this is missing, I remembered that this is not actually a function of the base game ... I didn't play a single hour Rimworld without it and years later I just forgot about it.
Worst Player NA 11 Jul @ 8:08pm
Good to hear this will be potentially getting an update, I honestly use this a lot!

Syrus  [author] 11 Jul @ 4:29pm
I was thinking on removing HugsLib considering it is not updated and I'm unsure when or whether it will be. I'm aware of the updated "unofficial" updated HugsLib, but I think it'd be a good moment to remove this third party dependency altogether now.

That's the major obstacle for updating most of my mods currently, besides time, of course.

I'll update them one by one over the next days as I have time,. Heat Map being high up on priority.
Doing the non-HugsLib mods first, though Customize Animals turned out to be more troublesome than hoped...
The Blind One 11 Jul @ 4:05pm
nvm I saw there's a temp for the moment.

o7

thank you for your service all these years.
The Blind One 11 Jul @ 3:35pm
I don't usually ask for updates but ...

I am Commander The Blind One and this is my favorite mod on the workshop.

I really really really love this mod :lunar2019grinningpig: been such an amazing QoL feature for me for so long.
Syrus  [author] 13 Jan @ 9:48am
I have not updated the original version. Due to how Steam handles mods, I cannot do so, so when the author was absent for a while I decided to update this version instead and the original author returned some time later, updating the original.

Unless something changed, this version here is different in such that you can change the colors...iirc
Trivia Vanille 12 Jan @ 4:24pm
I see you've updated the original version of this mod a little more recently than this version... is it better to install the original now, or this one?
Kham 7 Sep, 2024 @ 2:15pm
Ah that's a shame, thank you for the confirmation though! :)
Syrus  [author] 7 Sep, 2024 @ 2:00pm
It does require HugsLib, yes. I'll add the dependency here
Kham 7 Sep, 2024 @ 10:28am
Does this version still require HugsLib? It's not listed as a dependency on Steam but is in the original description section and about.xml?
SilentStorm 17 Jul, 2024 @ 4:38am
@Syrus yes
Syrus  [author] 15 Jul, 2024 @ 11:54am
@SilentStorm
"What do you mean by another map? One game with two settlements, or two different games?"
Multiple colonies, caravan event maps, etc. Thought it might have been an issue with the widget showing the wrong temperature from another map or such.

I assume the temperature in the lower right display differed from the widget?
SilentStorm 15 Jul, 2024 @ 5:28am
@Syrus
- Where is the temperature displayed wrong, just on the widget?
Only the widget
- Are the room temperatures correct, both the color overlay and the small text display?
Yes overlay is always correct, only the widget is incorrect
- Is the mouse-over temperature in the lower right correct, both for indoors and outdoors temperatures?
Yes
- Is there an offset, or is it wrong by a factor, for example does it always show 10° too much or 1.5x more than it should be or is it a constant wrong value? Example values are probably helpful.
Let me get back to you on this one
- Does this happen when using either Celsius and Fahrenheit?
I only know Fahrenheit, so that's where I've observed the issue
- Do you play on only one map, two or more?
Only one

What do you mean by another map? One game with two settlements, or two different games?
Enlonwhite 7 Jul, 2024 @ 8:45pm
@Awesome, I hadnt been back on rimworld for a bit, and when I heard/realized vanilla has one, I was like, huh so this mod is different how?. but you did explain that very well, thank you!

I only asked, because as a person who loves and usually uses over 350 mods, I do like to see where I can trim down at times. But based on your notes of differences, and a trail vanilla game load in compare, I agree this mod is better still.
So its here to stay for me!

I was ignorant of information and stupid :meepdrool:, Thank you for fixing some of that. :meepstarry:
