for some reason this mod makes nobara sell only common rings, none of the green ones (i managed to get 1 playtrough that i actually didn't had that problem, dk what is causing this now)

For anyone using the Script Extender to get Achievements working again with mods, if you're getting the "Couldn't create Story" message, by turning mods off 1 by one, this turned out to be what was conflicting with it.
Dove of light 5 Jun, 2023 @ 2:19pm
Can anyone perhaps confirm or deny if this works for everyone getting it while in multiplayer?
Z-Rabbit 24 Apr, 2023 @ 7:24pm
When I turn on the sneaking feature, all players sneak, regardless if they're chained or not. Does that happen for everyone?
Savacheone 21 Apr, 2023 @ 10:49pm
Hi all,

I'm using Definitive Edition and loving the game so far.

1. But despite enabling this mod through Steam and the Main Menu of the game, it doesn't work: both the joint bartering and joint sneak functions simply don't exist. I've also put this mod as the top priority for loading (as you can determine order in the Main Menu).

2. Where do I access "Settings" to enable these? There isn't a "Settings" option when i press ESC to get the in-game menu up.

3. I've also disabled "Haggler" in the Gift Bag, as it doesn't work as well. I also thought it may be incompatible with this mod.

3. Would be grateful for some help. Thanks :)

For future players, the attitude sharing of the mod is done by updating the attitude of traders when their attitude changes (i.e. you donating gold to them).
Thus if you install this mod halfway through a playthrough, some of your traders will obviously have different attitude towards different characters, so you must manually fix this by changing the attitude of that trader with the character of the highest attitude with that trader.

Is it safe to uninstall this mod?
Will it break my save?
Thanks!

Bartering working on multiplayer but persuasion does not unfortunately :( anyone aware of a mod that does work for persuasion?
hook catcher 4 Dec, 2020 @ 6:04pm
This has been working fine for me in single player but my friends and I can't seem to get it to work on our coop/multiplayer game. We tested it by comparing prices and our friend with the highest bartering still had the lowest purchase prices for the same goods.

I lost the settings book somehow. Is there a way to get it again? I tried disabling the mod, loading, saving, enabling it and loading again, still no book.

How I enable the tweak in the game? can't find the option
Derpy Moa 12 Sep, 2020 @ 4:36am
@kratos105 While LL's initial response was slightly annoying it did make me learn basic mod editing.
The experience was very dreadful initially due to DOS2 editor and documentation being outdated, hard to find, buggy and just straight up annoying.
Later on someone told me I can just unpack, edit files and repack without ever touching this garbage editor and then I finally did my own edits to this mod and few others.

So yeah, the outcome of LL's reply was pretty useful to me in the end.
LaughingLeader  [author] 7 Sep, 2020 @ 11:15pm
@kratos105 Except there was nothing to fix, as it was all a preference/request ("hide the leaderlib trader, remove all BT books"). The books one in particular is easier to do if you don't need to support people that do want the books, so it's better off as a simple personal mod (and is literally one stat entry). Your comment unfortunately is more awkward than anything.

@SpaceMilk Bartering Tweaks has more options, including sharing persuasion in dialog, group sneaking with one button (for chained members only), and additionally sharing attitude bonuses in trade alongside bartering (an extra option). Hagglers reporting has issues in multiplayer as well (traders reacting to trades negatively and lowering attitude).

Whats the difference between this and Haggler from the gift bag?
kratos105 16 Jul, 2020 @ 5:35pm
That awkward moment when the author of a mod spends more time telling someone how to fix his mod then actually fixing his mod...

Used on a new playthrough and it was not working, but now that we are in Arx it's working.

How can I get another copy of the settings book?
Derpy Moa 21 May, 2020 @ 9:42am
I guess I'll try that, sorry for bothering you and thanks.
LaughingLeader  [author] 21 May, 2020 @ 7:38am
Additionally setting characters off stage (like the LeaderLib trader) could be done with a basic story script:

// Fires when a level or save is done loading
IF
GameStarted(_,_)
AND
ObjectIsOnStage(S_LeaderLib_LeaderTrader_61ae5acc-1537-4970-82bb-d408a3334574, 1)
THEN
SetOnStage(S_LeaderLib_LeaderTrader_61ae5acc-1537-4970-82bb-d408a3334574, 0);

// If the character is set on stage again later on
IF
CharacterWentOnStage(S_LeaderLib_LeaderTrader_61ae5acc-1537-4970-82bb-d408a3334574, 1)
THEN
SetOnStage(S_LeaderLib_LeaderTrader_61ae5acc-1537-4970-82bb-d408a3334574, 0);

@Derpy Moa Tbh at this point, I recommend learning some basic mod making, as it would allow you to adjust mods to your liking. For instance, you could override the Bartering Tweaks books treasure table and simply leave it empty or make it spawn nothing, so when the game goes to spawn that table at the various traders, no items are generated.

The table is called "ST_BarteringTweaks_Books", and overriding it would looks like this, in a mod's text file at Public\ModName_UUID\Stats\Generated\TreasureTable.txt:

new treasuretable "ST_BarteringTweaks_Books"
new subtable "0,1"
object category "Gold",1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0
Derpy Moa 21 May, 2020 @ 5:03am
In other news, after removing the books the traders stock shows with 2 empty spaces every time it refreshes.
Reopening the trade window fixes it but still it happens every time the stock gets refreshed.

Could you please add a workaround for this? If even possible.
Derpy Moa 21 May, 2020 @ 4:56am
If the feature was enabled prior to attitude adjustments then they will be shared properly.
I could reproduce your issue but it only happens because attitude wasn't changed in the game.
So just keep the features on and future attitude adjustments will get updated correctly.
Custom Phase 16 May, 2020 @ 4:51am
Attidue sharing doesnt seem to actually do anything. Even though enabled, the attitudes and prices still vary based on who you got selected when trading. Am i missing something?

Hiya, Just wondering what the diff between this and the Larian version are?

Thankyou :)
LaughingLeader  [author] 31 Mar, 2020 @ 6:10pm
@Gadal Manna No other mod required.

@Liam The highest persuasion in the party is used, if persuasion sharing is enabled.
Madethara 31 Mar, 2020 @ 5:55pm
what other mod is required for this? It doesn't seem to be working
Liam 28 Mar, 2020 @ 7:42pm
Hi, regarding persuasion, do we use the stat of the character with the highest persuasion ability, or the character who is speaking (assuming it's not the character with the persuasion ability).

Thanks
Derpy Moa 1 Mar, 2020 @ 11:18am
Yeah I heard how other Larian mods overwrite stuff which is horrible for modders, it's why i avoid them too.
Also, don't think you should feel bad if x player picks Larian version over x mod. It's not like Larian would've made these "gift bags" without the ideas from you guys.
The modders from this game added countless hours of enjoyment and QoL and only reason certain Larian mods and more immersive/better/whatever is because the modding tools available aren't exactly Skyrim level.
I'm sure that if you guys had the proper tools the polish level would be on par if not better than Larian.

Anyways, thanks for considering an alternative to the books even if nothing changes.
LaughingLeader  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 9:07am
Anyways, for the books spawning, I'll see if there alternative I can work up. I don't necessarily see how a book or two on one trader ruins immersion, but it may be possible to provide an option to prevent them.

Honestly I wish we just had proper UI/menu modding support, so we wouldn't have to use dialog menus for this kind of stuff.
LaughingLeader  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 9:07am
> I never said any of your mods are no longer needed.
Oh yeah, I was necessarily implying that either! Just that what you said, "after the Larian Pet Pal mod there's no need for it." when presented with an alternative to the gift bag, is a bit sad from a mod author's end, as unfortunately many players will now choose the Larian version of the community one, since it's from the official devs, regardless if it's better or not.

Sorcerous Sundries for instance overrides every single weapon stat (even NPC weapons) to add a crafting category, while the original Level Up Equipment mod does not. Inherently this is a huge compatibility concern, as gift bag mods always load after regular mods when loading a save, so Sundries in this case is reverting any changes mods may make to those weapons.
Derpy Moa 1 Mar, 2020 @ 6:40am
My issue/problem is that those two mods didn't have this before so it felt like I played vanilla but better.
I'd use the books at the start, config everything then throw them in a bag in my inventory and enjoy the improved experience without ever touching the books again.
Now they're in vendor stocks and feels like improved vanilla but with clutter added that serves no purpose to me personally.
That's why I love options, to fit what I enjoy which is mods that feels like they're part of the base game.

I get that this is some immersion/OCD level of issue and really wanted to mention it.
But at the end of the day they're your mods and you decide what gets added/changed and compatibility is more important and regardless of what changes I'll still use them because can't play without them.
Derpy Moa 1 Mar, 2020 @ 6:40am
I never said any of your mods are no longer needed.
I've been using Bartering and Sprint mods since they got released as they're such a huge QoL that I can't play without them.
The Pet Pal part is not needed anymore since Larian version can't be exploited and therefore is better in that regard. That's a side feature of the mods and not them as a whole. Sorry if I wasn't clear before and made it seem disheartening.
I never used Pet Pal mods before either because of them being exploitable, that's a separate thing and not related to the purpose of Barter and Sprint mods.

As for your last comment, I didn't think about B and after trying it you are indeed correct that the book can't be used with the Larian mod on and can't disable it either which removes the exploiting part.
LaughingLeader  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 5:55am
Transferring the books is a little tricky, as they don't exist in mod-added traders, but rather appended to a select few existing tables. I can't really disable that in a simple way, but I'm also not really understanding the problem. Is it that they exist? Or that it's too tempting for you to use one for a point?

The book should be blocked if you:
A. Have the pet pal talent.
B. Have the pet pal tag.
C. Have already used the book.

So if you're using the Larian mod, that satisfies B, and you shouldn't be getting the talent from the book. If you are, that's a bug needing to be fixed.
LaughingLeader  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 5:52am
Currently, if DU is active, the book grants the Pet Pal tag. Otherwise it's a free talent yes, like the workshop mod, but it only works once. You can't keep adding talent points.

I could simply add an option to make it be in tag-mode if you enable it, and LeaderLib would preserve that as a global settings, if the extender is active.
LaughingLeader  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 5:51am
@MagicalPubes Saying a mod is no longer needed, because Larian released a mod version of their own, based on the original, is a bit disheartening to hear my friend. They're not inherently superior unfortunately, and they were designed with console players in mind, rather than made to replace what's already in the modding community.

There's a valid place for community mods to remain and continue to exist, as not only do they tend to work better, but mod authors can update them quicker if needed.
Derpy Moa 1 Mar, 2020 @ 5:15am
My feedback is that after the Larian Pet Pal mod there's no need for it.
It also isn't a "Pet Pal book", it's a free talent book. You use it, respec and get a free talent for gold while the Larian one can't be exploited.
I DMd you ages ago on Discord and you said there could be a way to make the Pet Pal appear only during dialogues then disappear to prevent exploiting it but you had no time to change it.

I fully get that it's impossible to please everyone and that's why options exist.
For example Odins mods have an option to remove his traders and transfer their stocks into the vanilla games traders which is a feature that I really like because it makes his overhauls feel like part of the base game.

Would it be hard/time consuming to add a similar option for your mods too?
Like "Enable Pet Pal book to appear on certain traders: Yes/No"
LaughingLeader  [author] 1 Mar, 2020 @ 1:09am
@MagicalPubes When it comes to the books, pleasing everyone is basically impossible. Some people don't want the books on anything and use the mod menu (which is easier on me), others don't use LeaderLib and post comments about them losing the book and needing a way to get another one, so there isn't really a way to satisfy everyone here unfortunately.

The pet pal book existed long before Larian's mod, or the free pet pal one. It was there since Civil Auras. It's there for those that don't want to add an additional mod (or open up the gift bag menu and deal with that whole process). It being something you have to buy instead of get for free is offers an alternative playstyle (the price could even be increased quite easily). Finally it has Divinity Unleashed support.

Not sure what your feedback is here. It's just an alternative option. The books don't spawn on every trader - Just specific ones separated by Acts.
Derpy Moa 29 Feb, 2020 @ 2:50pm
Not trying to be a dick because never removed this mod since you released it but the books on straders make no sense to me.
It's more of a Leaderlib feature imo.
Like if I get this mod and toggle sprint i want what they do, not added items onto traders and if I lose the config book then I'll quickly get leaderlib and problem solved.
Larian Pet Pal works (from my experience) without any issues with mods so don't understand why a book is needed, especially in a Bartering/Persuation mod.
LaughingLeader  [author] 2 Feb, 2020 @ 11:07pm
Thanks, looks like one or two of the tables may have been shared by a few traders. The books should now be appended to unique tables used by one trader now, but this won't retroactively remove them.
Derpy Moa 2 Feb, 2020 @ 10:37pm
Yeah my bad, didn't scroll much. Now reading it, it states only 1 merchant per act has it but in my game at least 3 in Driftwood got it.
LaughingLeader  [author] 2 Feb, 2020 @ 5:24pm
The Change Notes tab also lists what changed in recent updates by the way.
LaughingLeader  [author] 2 Feb, 2020 @ 5:23pm
@MagicalPubes Yep. I added them to specific trader's treasure tables, as described in the mod description tab on the workshop here.

It's so people aren't required to have LeaderLib if they need to buy the books.
Derpy Moa 2 Feb, 2020 @ 2:23pm
Is it normal that traders sell Pet Pal Book and Bartering Tweak Settings Book? Didn't happen before latest patch.
LaughingLeader  [author] 5 Jan, 2020 @ 1:35pm
@donkeykon6 It does not. A dedicated black cat mod was made after Civil Auras, so I figure that's a better solution nowadays. Here's the link:

does this mod come with the black cat bait and cat bag
LaughingLeader  [author] 3 Jan, 2020 @ 4:42am
@Брендон Фрейзер Might be worth trying with a mod that adds story scripting (LeaderLib for instance(, as when you load an older save or begin a new one, the game merges story scripting from your various mods / the game into one file for your save.

If that process is failing for some reason (does your Windows username have non-Ascii characters?) then that could explain why some mods would work and others not. Some mods are just stats / item changes without any story scripting.
Hee-ho! 3 Jan, 2020 @ 2:57am
Yep, i can load without any mods, when i remove all of the mods, but this one i cant load anymore

Im playing in multiplayer.

I also play with mod that unlocks achivs, but it doesnt break my game
LaughingLeader  [author] 2 Jan, 2020 @ 11:20am
@Брендон Фрейзер May need to check if you can quickload in a normal, unmodded save, then see if you can in a new save with 1 mod, just to rule out that it's not an issue with the game and your system.

I can definitely quickload/load on my end with Bartering Tweaks.
Hee-ho! 2 Jan, 2020 @ 9:59am
Seems to break my game, cant quickload/load(only when started)
