FRance managed to work again. We don;'t know but it must be due to our decision to remove as many artillery and naval units as possible.

Having said that,
- Ships - cannot progress. This mod uses Rise of the Moderns' stats for naval assets and should stay that way.
- Infantry - still not resolved. Must compare current rifle infantry with curernt AXP lot before we can make a decision.
- Macheine guns - Learning to bake anims makes our job somewhat easier but not quite. Need to identify what slots will use them.
- Tanks: The big 3 - GT, TCM, A1E1 - have no graphics.
- Artillery: still unfinished business, light and heavy artillery have not had their appearahces harmonised.

SUGGESTION?

Hang back from work on this mod:

- Take time off to attack the matter of ships - cruisers, destroyers, battleships all need theri stats tweaked. DO SO ASAP.
- Infantry - MGs and grunts need to be amended, so get this done ASAP.
- Cavalry - this too although we expect this mod to prefer the use of those units of Rise of the Moderns.

Buildings?

- Wonders need auditing and assignment, now.
- Mainstream bnuildings - mnamely warrior halls and merc posts and possibly villas not properly done, fix this ASAP.
ALSO note - this mod is being used to test and prepare animated buildings for other mods, so take it easy.

Artillery should be working for this mod but....

AMERICAN entries for bulding_graphics needs an audit.
GPIECE error killing games with France needs fixing.

EDIT: Cleaning and removing bits and pieces of this mod, as well as shutting down naval and siege units worked. France loads without trouble. Surprised how easy taht was.

Now if only I could marry Dhanishtha, get a multi-$ trust fund, have a home of myself and a quiverful of sons.....

Heavy arty needs rationalisation. Not accessible, becausee the Fortress and Citadel are not available. Need to fix ASAP.

- tech reqs need to be recast.
- items from Age of Darkness need to be asimilated, pronto.


We need to settle the following items:

- Riflemena,
- Machine Guns
- Heavy cavalry (armored cars)
- Tank placements,
- Artillery
- Issues with France crashing RoN.

All items listed here are toi be transitioned from Age of Darkness.

Clean version. Experienced a computer-freezing bug with this mod. Trying to see if it's related to artillery..... or not.

Tanks from Age of Darkness added:

- Japanese:A T-89 (I-Go)
- British: Whippet, Mk V, Mk VIII, A1E1 "Independent"
- French: St-Charmond, FT17, TCM 2C
- German: A7V, LK-2, Grosstraktor

REMAINING TO DO?

- France causes crashes, unknown why. We will probablty attempt to pick this one up as we go.
- Artillery needs to be rationalised, light and heavy arty stats not properly done (highly likely to be next).
- Wonders not properly coded in, stats not finalised.
- Appearance of civvy units - peasants, traders, patriots - still pending stuff to be transferred over from AXP (maybe).
- Riflemen skins still untested, no assault infantry, or MG models done.
- Naval units also still undone - but these just use the same units as vanilla, except the British have a more powerful navy. And France, Japan and Britain get aircraft carriers.

French arty with Kegresse tractor revamped, crewmembers now wear Adrians.

Did a quick test with 9 factions, so far only the Romans (French) are throwing errors. Reason for issue is still unknown.

Some good news, and some bad news .....
- Went back to blender.org to learn more about animation. Apparently, baking is what is required for problematic animations. Many of these related to the new French artillery going into this mod were causing issues and have been dealt with.... permanently.
- Unfortunately we have run into a snag, France causes the game to crash with a GPIECE error. The reason for this happening is still unknown but it's likely to be caused by crappy unitrules.x coding. May still need to check Rise of the Moderns to confirm this crash since this mod is still at the stage of being a fork of that one.

Tanks need to be added from Age of Darkness but this isn't done yet, either.

Politics research system, not implemented.
Machine guns are not quite ready.

EDIT: As expected the animations for the new French artillery have gone awry. Packing and unpacking is a problem.
