DYING LIGHT 2 a beautiful gorgeous decimated world with stunning views of sunsets, sunrises and other jaw dropping weather patterns in a rotting putrid decayed landscape. Fantastic looking mixture of architecture along with the commonsense rooftop community living which are overgrown with vegetation giving a certain quality of nature reclaiming the city landscapes.

Building interiors can be downright creepy having a sinister malevolent character all their own alongside the rotting putrescent presence of the zombie plague thanks to the excellent use of lighting, shadow and color. Type of place one expects to get murdered in or worse. From the neon blue of safe zones to a zombie going up in flames in a dark building at night where a mural of flashing colors and shadows dance violently everything is spectacularly done.

Zombies are grisly and quite gross to look at in a good way like something out of a 1970's 80's gore flick ala DOCTOR BUTCHER MD. Their attacks feel quite weighty as one would expect from a dead slab of flesh. Sound effects are blood curdling as their many varied moans, growls and shrieks pierce the air. Makes for a most interesting experience when playing late at night. They have also been improved with a recent update where they are now much more of a threat latching on to the player with more frequency thus ramping up the threat factor.

Dialogue is very well done with plenty of character capturing the many personalities of DYING LIGHT 2 from the strict yet caring Peace Keepers to the down on their luck Bazaar folk with a huge mixture of characteristics from over the top attention hungry show offs to some down to earth person telling a story at a campfire. No matter the dialogue good or bad the voice acting is always top notch.

Music is a immersive work stirring up relaxing reflective moments to intense fight for your very life periods. Also the music in the credits and i think at the Bazaar by METRIC (HELP I'M ALIVE) is great. When i went to look it up on Youtube found out the song was from years ago after just hearing it on the radio a few weeks ago thinking it was unique to DYING LIGHT 2. So here is to Techland for introducing me to something i missed. Great game soundtrack i will definitely pick up if it is ever available. There is also plenty of dark menacing moody music playing as one explores the rotting environment mutilated into a rotting land of corpses.

Interacting with the world is very stress free as things are displayed on the world hud from containers in the world with loot to safe zone locations where i can sleep for the night aswell as areas with ingredients to create healing balms and stimulants all made easier to track down with the radar like vision which when activated allows Aiden to detect things in the environment similar to THE WITCHER series and BATMAN ARKHAM ASYLUM in Detective Mode.

I also love all the painting murals one finds in the world with a small crate describing their background rich with lessons on life while not sounding preachy. Plenty of great looking posters and artwork also decorate the city ruins with a sense of hope from the past of what was and may yet be again. There is also a nice focus on healthy healing food choices such as chamomile tea/honey which in real life is great for things like heartburn and indigestion.

Here is to the five years of incoming support to what is already a ghoulish creation of dark grim survival.

DYING LIGHT 2, BUY IT! PLAY IT! Enter the gore drenched ghoulish blood dripping world created by the master craftsmen of unspeakable horrors TECHLAND.

Excellent tabletop style fantasy wargame. Love the voices when they die. Very final in a morbid horror movie kind of way. I found myself with a big grin out of just how cool they sounded.

Plenty of nice ideas such as mutators that can enhance combat units abilities. Kind of thing one would find in a tabletop setting. It also has some unique movement choices such as leaping and jumping which really comes in handy when it comes to getting at the enemy such as archers on high terrain. Another interesting mechanic is the lead character Urtuk being able to heal other units at the expense of his own health. You can empathize with his suffering as he sacrifices a bit of himself to help his wounded units.

Music is excellent fitting in with the setting perfectly and goes well with the ghoulish gore filled comic book art style of the story cut scenes which go all out when it comes delivering the grimness of what Urtuk and others have suffered and are suffering at the hands of the evil forces in the land.

Game graphics are very detailed with a strong full of life colorful comic book style where the action is visually satisfying bringing it home in all its violent glory across the detailed hex filled map covered in traps and terrain which can damage units. Combat units look great emphasizing their strengths and personalities well.

Combat is turned based and i believe also initiative based as not all the units on one side go at the same time. You can equip them with weapons and mutators which you come across after battles. As you travel about your army will grow as you rescue others from the clutches of the tyranny that is terrorizing the desolate desert like landscape giving your character and his army a sense of heroic noble purpose.

URTUK: THE DESOLATION, a world fraught with danger that beckons you to save it. Dare you take on this great quest my heroes and heroines?

Yes that was the other thing that had me choosing BATTLETECH over WARHAMMER because of the mind numbing high cost which would have slowed down and limited my enjoyment. Those minitures were also humongous. Was overjoyed when i saw an ad for WARHAMMER 40,000 LIBERATION in a issue of PC GAMER as i was now frothing at the mouth to finally experience the game as i was heavily into pc gaming pretty much having put to the side my tabletop gaming days for the infinity of space and no setup needed time saving hobby of pc gaming.

Who would have thought a BATTLETECH tabletop gamer like me from back in the day would be fanatically playing WARHAMMER 40,000 video games with it being my second choice for tabletop gaming in the 1990's but it would have demanded more space and finances than i had at the time. Life always finds a way :dqchalice:

You too ^1BigBossMan1978 [BE] and be safe here in New York its in the blazing 90's with a real feel in the 100 degree range. Thank goodness i got out the past few days so am all good for chilling indoors gaming and watching movies with the air conditioner on when needed to keep things cool. Reminds me of when i was visiting my sis and my bro inlaw last year in Florida. Still there is something different about New York heat ha ha.
