that's super weird, it shouldn't cause any crashes o-o
disabling read only on the video.txt file should cause settings to go back to normal, which s h o u l d also let you change your resolution in game and have it save for the next time you launch. and in case that's what's making you crash, also fix that.
however, it will likely remove the brightness fix. :/

Yo, i need help with the l4d2 brightness bugfix. I did exactly everything you said and now my game is screwd up. every time i open it, it has the worst resolution possible and when i try yo enter a match, the game just crashes. help me plsssssssssss
