I really can't understand this point of the gaming culture where unoriginality, copycats, faux-sequels, and simply poor design gets praised so much. I mean, come on. You can make a 2D game but with better graphics, modern story telling, and such. Controls for this one are AWFUL. Dialogues are tiresome.

Its been a while since I've played something... like this one.

Do yourself a favor, stop playing after the 1st half, this is an amazing game this far.
after that, it become annoying and not fun at all.

To elaborate on this:
I really liked the 1st half of the game, amazing level design, incredible chiptune old school music, challenging but fait platformer. Even when I die, I laugh & continue. Bosses were a nice touch at the end of each level.
So basically, it was an old school linear level by level game, nothing wrong so far.

After that, you face the final boss, or who supposedly be the final boss, but no, the game doesn’t show you credits, instead it shifts the gameplay from a linear game to self-acclaimed metroidvania.
It forces you to go back to the same levels, from different entries , a lot of unnecessary backtracking, poor checkpoint system & unrealistic metroidvania!
Nope, that’s not a metroidvania, I like the genre & played most high profile game, old & new, this one is definitely poor imitation, nothing more.

P.S. pick it up on sale, play the 1st half & convince yourself that you beat it. Have fun.

This is a crappy platformer with some Metroidvania bolted on to make it seem deeper than it is.

I took off Sea Of Stars from my wishlist cause this one is so bad.
