Easily one of my favorite games :)

VERY SOLID game. Recommended for old school platformer lovers.

I liked:

- Beautiful graphics
- Soundtrack
- Switching between 8 and 16bits graphics is a very cool gimmick
- Mix between Ninja Gaiden and Metroidvania gameplay (first part of the game is pretty linear just like a standard side scroller, second part is more metroid-ish because you revisit some areas with 16bit level design/graphics)
- LOVED the story-telling, good balance between lighthearted humour and serious/dramatic tone.

What I ''Didn't'' like:

- Gameplay feels imprecise on some of the tougher platform sequences
- Though the 8/16bits gameplay gimmick is very cool to see, I would've hoped that the game showed more differences between the two. The change in graphics mostly is a change in terms of path/level design, but not really in terms of gameplay.

A lot of fun! Action platformer/Metroidvania with a vintage feel but a lot of modern sensibilities. The movement is really fluid, and using all the tools in your kit to navigate the levels feels great. Difficulty is in the sweet spot for me, where many of the tougher fights took me a few tries and I felt like I was improving on each attempt. Music and pixel work both fantastic. The tongue-in-cheek writing might not be for everyone but I enjoyed it.
