Future Plans
This is a beta release and there are many things that are incomplete, or in an unsatisfactory state. for the 1.0 release, I plan to:
  • Finish the partially completed items.
  • Add a number of new items. And rework some others.
  • Address imbalances
  • Completely revamp localisation
  • Move more variables out to configs.
  • Ensure there is proper balancing for Legendary difficulty.
  • Fix bugs, broken or missing interactions and other such things.
  • Make compatibility patches for major overhaul mods (especially CI)
This plan is subject to me finding enough time in front of my computer to get it all done though so please be patient.

NEW for 2025
So it's about time I updated you all on plans for this mod and my mods in general. Here are my plans for the near future in planned order of completion:
  • Release a work in progress mod, Strength and Weight, which has been in a state of near completion for about a year.
  • Update my Sitrep mods.
  • Release 0.6.1 which will be the bugfix and balance update prior to moving on.
  • Start 0.7, Future updates will be broken up into three phases to make things more manageable and reduce the time between updates..
    • 0.71 - will focus on a major rework of tech which will make things work nicer with LWOTC and clean up some tech branches which are not up to standard. Researching Xenotech will be more rewarding.
    • 0.72 Finally implement the Cybernetic Xenotech branch, Cybernetic Warfare.
    • 0.73 Various items, weapons, fixes and compatibility stuff.
    • 0.74 Fix up patch prior to starting on 0.8 series.

Hudson is this update also going to include plans for making the mod more compatible with LWOTC?

Overhaul compatibility is something that I consider a separate project, something i might outsource to others even. See the compatibility thread for more info.

Released 0.3 today Likely to be one more update before the winter holiday.

0.4 Goal: Item additions part 2 Nanotech Warfare and Serums 2. Difficulty and cost balancing. Esp. legendary. Start pushing more values into configs and more fixes.

I might only get some of that done though because of tight time constraints.

Is possible to change socket position of expendable holotargers to r_hip, plus little edit their models (like stims), same models causes visual confusion

0.4.1 Goal: Nothing clear here - A bug fixing update most likely

Planned list for 0.5, though that may not get done until summer.
0.5 Goal: The Nanotech Warfare 2 (which got pushed back), and engineering update. More values into configs and more fixes. Compatibility with PGO and Tesla Loot mod improved.
  • Engineering Items - Items that work in a similar way to the Improvised plating items.
  • The Medical AMod now provides a version of Medical Protocol.
  • All medical items can be used at with gremlin,
  • Engineering items can be used with the gremlin if a unit has the Engineering AMod
  • Extension of the Cache and crate system with more ways to get caches, more cache types and more items you can get from them.Sources: POIs, Covert Actions, Sitreps, Mission Rewards
  • Proving Grounds Overhaul - make the 2 AMOD projects compatible. Armor mods and vests available in TeslaRage’s armor mod system.

Can a future update techgate the items in this mod so they unlock gradually as the research is complete and all have small prices attached to them so you can't just break the game from the start?

Have you ever considered making a portable sentry turret? Something with limited damage (maybe akin to that of an assault rifle or a cannon), but deployable on the field and original in design.

Something small to be used for ambushes in a way similar to mines, and perhaps something that requires an "autopsy" of the actual ADVENT turrets for unlocking's sake.

I've had plans for something like these ideas for years, but other mods provide something similar and it would be a fair bit of work, so if it happens it is still a long way off.

I hope it does, as while it's true that there have been some similar things before, making an original XCOM Sentry Turret would be a lot more immersive and exciting.
