Since I dont see much recent info about what works and I want to start a playthrough with this mod, I want to start a thread for people to post what mods work in the current version or to get an idea of what might work alright.

I tried several mods to see what worked, what was broke, etc. Too my surprise some mods managed to work and seemingly enhance the game.

More Criminals adds a number criminal events, which is a lot of fun

Ecology Reborn mod was lots of fun and feels very lore friendly to the setting, most of the basic parts work except a few advanced buildings which require vanilla strategic resources. Managing pollution and building preserves felt very much in line with Trek.

Criminal Worlds syncs well with More Criminals, adding more depth to criminal events. Between the two, frontier worlds will feel like the wild west if not managed well. The same goes for overpopulated core worlds turning into hives of crime.

Technology Ascendent seems to work, the AI will take advantage of it. Lore friendliness is debatable.

Star Wars weapons mostly works, some later weapon systems cannot be used due to strategic resource requirements. The ship weapons may give a slight edge in the early to mid game, but are outclassed as you progress. The structures seem to work well. Not lore friendly maybe, it doesn't feel too out there though.

Antarrans Attack works, its painful until you can build better starbases. I would only use this if you were a masochist.

Social Decline is a slightly older mod, but nicely compliments More Criminals and Criminal Worlds. These criminal mods and Ecology Reborn together give the setting a more gritty feel in line with Wrath of Khan, Deep Space Nine, etc. I highly recommend them.

Mostly compatible mods:

Partially or semi compatible

Transformers will spawn Cybertron, energon deposits, Cybertronian technology that depends on energon will appear, and archaeology sites/relics. The civilizations though are not compatible and you will die if you try to start as them. Not lore friendly lol.

All that is Grim Dark surprisingly has some parts that are still functional, don't play Chaos though you will die at the start. You can start as the God Emperor, but you will lack ships and suffer from major resource shortages for at least several decades until better technology and edicts are researched. You will need to secure ships from trading post deals. This will make the game much much harder, but not impossible as I am about to beat the game at 3100 as the God Emperor. Probably not lore friendly

Star Wars Universe Army types has a some bits and pieces that are compatible, but a good chunk is not accessible. Nor really lore friendly, but the most lore breaking parts are not accessible.
