there is an ISDF symbol on both the Rover and Heavy Scout already actually. I could tone down the amount of time that the heavy scout can boost for, i figured adding the boost would be nice as there isn't a single unit i've ever seen anyone create for bz that has boost so i thought it would be a unique addition. (and not really overpowered at all, considering things that i plan on adding in the future)
The AA assaulthover scion unit was not designed as a counterpart for the heavy scout, instead i made it because of the lack of anti air units on the scion side. I won't be changing the name of the ISDF heavy scout as i based the design off an original battlezone concept art piece so i feel that the name should stay the same to honor that concept art piece and whomever created it.
The reason why some of the things i create 'feel out of place' is because the things i create were designed to be used against other players or against alien races that are even more powerful than your own units. (the work i'm doing now is eventually leading up to a giant mod including multiple powerful alien races, and if i'm really lucky, a really good campaign as well.)
as for bringing back barracks from bz1, i thought it was a good thing that they got rid of them in the first place, as running out of men doesn't make sense because you build more barracks which makes more people? yeah, it's kinda weird. If they were robot pilots then yeah, but i thought it made more sense to get rid of the barracks in the first place. After all, the training facility is the barracks building anyhow.
As far as the AI, i hope to create an insane AI plan that people will struggle to beat, i always play on insane as i don't find the other difficulty levels fun, i've never created or modified an ai plan so it may take awhile of playing around with it to get it right.
I look forward to forgotten enemies in particular, it was one of the only expansions that truly felt like an expansion on the bz storyline, it was however quite unpolished and a little childish so i hope the story gets changed a little and gets a new shiny polish on it, the story at the beginning of the mod was a wall of text which i never really got anything out of, so i hope they try to spread the story across the missions and give it a professional touch, but of course i know i'll probably get the FE i remember, lol.
I strongly recommend you to enter the official battlezone discord channel.. There are tons of modders and Rebellion devs alike spending their time in there.. I bet you'd find invaluable help in there to safe yourself both time and trouble while figuring things out for yourself.
I Agree in regards of FE... The humor attempts were medicre at best but those were also different times back then... Lets hope & wait and see what the future holds up for us..
I personally wish that someday once all the former and new shining mods are here that somebody will take all these tons of races and through em into 1 huge mod - both with intention for campaign making as well as Skirmish sp fun. I remember FE had not just 3way battles but also maps that supported up to 16 ai bases.. Gosh that was such fun.
