What some lovely work you managed to come up with @Rocket3497.

It's sad that the AI doesn't make use of your new enhancements. I hope that's something we can look forward to in the future.

Below a few thoughts and ideas:

Idea1: I think the new buildings and their upgrade methods are fantastically made. How about enhancing upon that?

Personally I think the idea of returning barracks and a pilot number counter like in bz1 might work rather good for your mod exclusively. Seeing how the main aspect focusses more on actual base building and eventual upgrading and researching things. The current ISDF Scrap Silo downscaled for example would make a fine barracks building. Just needs a little door. While that water tower looking building from Pluto might make a fine scrap silo. Ofc it remains to be seen how well all of that would work. Not every map has an unlimited amount of base building space.

The new ISDF units are also very lovely. Though I believe the smaller tank with chain guns and plasma could need some additional texture work. The way it looks now doesn't look very ISDF like not to mention rather low quality - texture wise. Also don't forget to pin a little ISDF logo on these new comers. If memory serves there's an ISDF logo on each and every unit?

I think the ISDF heavy scout and possibly Scion counterpart could require a speed nerf. Seeing how massive these units are the current speed feels unreasonable. Not to mention that it is out of sync with remaining units. Eventually also don't call it heavy scout as this unit is way beyond a scout class.

As for the Furies. Up to you whether you wanna keep em or not. But I feel they are totally out of place. If I were in your shoes and had your time I rather scavange the story bz1 & bz2 ancient buildings. Retexture them and enhance upon them a little with animations and form real Furies faction. Possibly with some additional minor custom units to fill the gaps. It could then harass both sides. But that would be a huge amount of work. Still somebody already converted most these buildings perhaps you can join forces or get permission to use them. What makes me dislike them is their speed the fact that the Fury fighter clips through the hills while flying which just isn't very good for the immersion of your gaming experience. They weren't even that fast in the original game.

Anyway all in all I do enjoy this mod of yours a lot. In my opinion it's the only mod thus far that really adds something new to the table to play with. Like most of us I'm still waiting for the conversion of Forgotten Enemies, Flesh Storm, VSR with Deadlian and Hadean returning etc. Perhaps some day even CP2 http://www.moddb.com/mods/bz2-community-project-2

Good luck and thanks.

There's always room for improvement so i appreciate that you took the time to give your perspective on the work that i've done.

there is an ISDF symbol on both the Rover and Heavy Scout already actually. I could tone down the amount of time that the heavy scout can boost for, i figured adding the boost would be nice as there isn't a single unit i've ever seen anyone create for bz that has boost so i thought it would be a unique addition. (and not really overpowered at all, considering things that i plan on adding in the future)

The AA assaulthover scion unit was not designed as a counterpart for the heavy scout, instead i made it because of the lack of anti air units on the scion side. I won't be changing the name of the ISDF heavy scout as i based the design off an original battlezone concept art piece so i feel that the name should stay the same to honor that concept art piece and whomever created it.

The reason why some of the things i create 'feel out of place' is because the things i create were designed to be used against other players or against alien races that are even more powerful than your own units. (the work i'm doing now is eventually leading up to a giant mod including multiple powerful alien races, and if i'm really lucky, a really good campaign as well.)

as for bringing back barracks from bz1, i thought it was a good thing that they got rid of them in the first place, as running out of men doesn't make sense because you build more barracks which makes more people? yeah, it's kinda weird. If they were robot pilots then yeah, but i thought it made more sense to get rid of the barracks in the first place. After all, the training facility is the barracks building anyhow.

As far as the AI, i hope to create an insane AI plan that people will struggle to beat, i always play on insane as i don't find the other difficulty levels fun, i've never created or modified an ai plan so it may take awhile of playing around with it to get it right.

I look forward to forgotten enemies in particular, it was one of the only expansions that truly felt like an expansion on the bz storyline, it was however quite unpolished and a little childish so i hope the story gets changed a little and gets a new shiny polish on it, the story at the beginning of the mod was a wall of text which i never really got anything out of, so i hope they try to spread the story across the missions and give it a professional touch, but of course i know i'll probably get the FE i remember, lol.

Also, for the furies, they travel extremely fast in the original bz1 game, i imagine they also travel extremely fast in BZ98R as well.

Hm it certainly sounds good.. And I wish you best of luck for the future..
I strongly recommend you to enter the official battlezone discord channel.. There are tons of modders and Rebellion devs alike spending their time in there.. I bet you'd find invaluable help in there to safe yourself both time and trouble while figuring things out for yourself.

I Agree in regards of FE... The humor attempts were medicre at best but those were also different times back then... Lets hope & wait and see what the future holds up for us..

I personally wish that someday once all the former and new shining mods are here that somebody will take all these tons of races and through em into 1 huge mod - both with intention for campaign making as well as Skirmish sp fun. I remember FE had not just 3way battles but also maps that supported up to 16 ai bases.. Gosh that was such fun.
