The Hung – Lords of the Steppes brings a new playable race galloping into Total War: WARHAMMER III — complete with a bespoke roster, original characters, and unique mechanic representing the infamous nomadic Hung tribes of the Eastern Steppes.

Playable Factions
  • The Mung — Led by Ur-Khan "The Swift Fury", starting in Ironfrost Glacier, Naggaroth
  • The Man-Chu — Led by Zao Korr "The Thrice-Damned", starting in the Eastern Steppes

  • The Host of Shaarnor
  • The Chi-An
  • The Aghol
  • The Dreaded Wo
  • The Wei-Tu

New Race
  • "The Hung" - Playable in both the Realms of Chaos and Immortal Empires campaigns, this mod introduces a fully fleshed-out race similar to the Warriors of Chaos, Beastmen, and other factions.
Full Custom Roster
  • A cavalry-heavy roster supplemented by powerful archers and fearsome monsters, the Hung army is a fast and deadly threat which can roll over the unprepared.
New Playable Horde Factions
  • Led by Ur-Khan, a former slave of the Druchii, the Mung follow a path of vengeance as they burn their way across Naggaroth, expanding the Endless Steppes in honor of the gods.
  • In the east, the avaricious Zao Korr leads the Man-Chu in a war against Grand Cathay, seeking to crack through its Bastion and conquer the fertile lands beyond.
Five Minor Factions
  • With plans to expand each, in time, into a playable major faction.
Custom Mechanics
  • Deceive enemies and manipulate situations to your advantage with the Hung's Treachery  options.
  • Recruit powerful units using pilfered knowledge and captured monsters by razing regions across the world in the Adaptive Warlords feature.
  • Choose where to place Tribal Gatherings , tent cities which can generate great wealth and allow recruitment of powerful units, based on seasonal Fertility  in local provinces. Strike a balance between exploiting the landscape and becoming more firmly entrenched in it.

Known Issues
  • Since 5.0, campaign effects will show units your faction does not have access to (if another Hung faction does, such as the Host of Shaarnor's access to certain Slaaneshi units)
  • Tribal Gathering building costs will display in red even when you have sufficient treasury to purchase the building. This is related to Omens of Destructions Ogre Camp update.
  • Very little attention to audio and voicelines. You can expect a lot of Wulfrik the Wanderer and various Chaos marauders until I can eventually implement some custom audio in tandem with the Audio Mixer team.

Overall great mod, just wish the other mods that add new factions could also support multiplayer like this one, truly a winning factor

Great mod! Do you plan on making other minor hung factions, such as the Kuj or the Yusak, also part of the race? Or even kurgan ones? Maybe minor factions that can occupy settlements.

is anyone else not able to do the quest battle with the guy that start at the basion

So yes, this is when I'm using other mods but this is causing a ton of instability when I have it active. I get constant mid-turn and end turn crashes, I can't get a campaign past turn 20 with this mod active before the save becomes irreparably corrupt.

So to anyone looking at this mod I would give it a wait for now. It has a really solid foundation and has potential to be one of the better fan-faction mods. But it has lots of bugs, balance issues and the above mentioned instability when combined with other mods. And for reference all I'm using is New Faction mods like OVN and SCM, New LLs, and more battle map mods like GCCM. Deactivating this specific mod turns my game completely stable.

Cool idea but not the best balance. You can make like 5 camps but dont get enough plunder to even max out one by turn 63...

Hi, i know its a minor suggestion but it`ll be great to vary archers look a little bit, they all look very similar, hard to find differences without closer look. Other units look fine and have distinct appearance.

Just like most cavalry, it's made to charge, not to fight in melee for long period of time (unless it's archer like infantry), norscan marauder are pretty tough
