Mineable Megaroids

In 1 collection by SirCampalot
Extended Tech Tree Mod.
32 items
Description
Replaces all empty asteroids with large asteroids which contain iron AND copper and often also contain trace amounts of carbon, hyperium, tritanium, uranium or gold.

I like to use Mineable Megaroids together with one of my other mods Less Dense Asteroids which reduces the density of asteroid fields and the asteroid belt, which makes for an overall more pleasant mining experience with more resources and less pathfinding issues :) .

Less Dense Asteroids can be found here:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2888975911

If you want no default asteroids, Mineable Megaroids is compatible with my mod No Asteroids, which can be found here:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2895267769

If you just want fewer Mineable Megaroids, you can use the tweaker addon to reduce the amount of Mineable Megaroids by around 50%
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3473184275

-----

Please keep in mind that these asteroids will only appear in star systems you have not visited yet due to game limitations.

-----

I've created 6 resource add-ons for Mineable Megaroids. With these add-ons you can tweak the ratios of the minerals you can mine, to a certain extent.
If you want more mineable megaroids containing trace amount of a certain material, you can download and activate any of these add-ons:
Mineable Megaroids - Hyperium Add-on: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2921573132
Mineable Megaroids - Carbon Add-on: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2921557973
Mineable Megaroids - Tritanium Add-on: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2921565367
Mineable Megaroids - Uranium Add-on: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2921567827
Mineable Megaroids - Gold Add-on: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2921570359
Mineable Megaroids - Sulfur Add-on: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2934174200
As it is fairly easy for me to create more add-ons, I can create more add-ons featuring certain balance chances if the demand is there.

For people using Mineable Megaroids and the Star Wars a Cosmos Divided mods, I've made a compatibility patch which you can find here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3128546442

-----

Feel free to try out my other mods, which includes Mineable Dwarf Planets which can be found here
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2893554386
Some of the other mods that I made:
Mineable Gigaroids - Lite Edition (larger than megaroids, smaller than dwarf planets, lots of resources) https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2907238729
and
Compacted Storages (store huge amounts of resources in tiny buildings) https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2942154504

Extended Tech Tree Mod (extends the gameplay experience of Cosmoteer while seeming like it could be part of the base game).
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2946411143
If you use Extended Tech Tree Mod and Mineable Megaroids, I highly recommend to use this compatibility patch
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2946444012
Please note that ETTM is no longer in active (public) development.

For people who are looking for a more resource rich version of this mod, you can use my Mineable Megaroids - Cheating Edition instead of this mod.
Mineable Megaroids - Cheating Edition is meant as an alternative to Mineable Megaroids and are not to be used at the same time. It can be found here:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2898692028

-----

My mods can all be used at the same time unless stated otherwise.

Furthermore I'd like to express my gratitude to the people who supported and use this mod. This was my first 'big' mod ever on the steam workshop and I never expected so many people to end up liking it.
I will keep supporting and improving this mod and am open to questions and suggestions :) (including from other mod authors).

Legacy version is up! You can get it here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3565807116

This legacy version is for people who want to stay at Cosmoteer 0.30.0 (it should work down to version 0.26.2 afaic), for whatever reason and is provided as is.

I'm providing this previous version as a legacy version as a service to the people using my mods.

Do not use this if the current version of Mineable Megaroids works!

of course, thanks

@HrochosUwU: I have older versions of the mods I updated today, but won't have time to upload these as legacy versions until this evening due to time constraints.

is there any way of getting an older version of this mod? Most of my other mods are not yet updated so i wanted to play on older version, but as you said i cant.

@Poison Wolf: Your second reply only appeared after I had written my previous reply.
It's up to that mod author to provide support for features of his own mod.

At any rate, if something is wrong with any of my mods, pleas let me know so I am aware of it.
Afaik Cosmoteer itself made no changes to the hard portions of asteroids for its latest patch so this should still work fine for Mineable Megaroids.

@Poison Wolf: Could you please elaborate on what you mean?
Crew shouldn't be able to mine hard parts of asteroids. If this is due to this new update, then it may not have been part of the Release Candidates I based this update on.

Since this would obviously be a bug, I'll start working ona fix once I've finished updating my mods so these will at least work with this version of Cosmoteer (tbh updating to this version of Cosmoteer was even more of a pain than updating to Cosmoteer 0.30.0 was with hundreds of edits needed to get things working again).

Thanks for the bug report :)

From "Crew can mine hard asteroid resources" "The "mineable" propperty is attached to the asteroid type.
The "Minable Megaroids" mod introduces new custom asteroid types, these don't have the appropriate property set."

Can this be fixed in your mod? It would be great since I love to watch my crew chew up your asteroids. It's kinda relaxing.

Version 1.3.0

Updated to support Cosmoteer 0.30.1. Pevious versions of Cosmoteer will no longer work with Mineable Megaroids due to certain changes made to asteroids.

@264155249: it only requires Platinum as a modded resource, which is a modded resource from Extended Tech Tree Mod.
You can find it here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2946411143
