Description

IMPORTANT! This mod requires original BMCE to be installed first to function, check installation on how this and BMCE should be installed.README sections can also be found from there. Also consider checking out out official lore guide for this mod.

DISCLAIMER! BMCE and BMCER are two very different projects being worked on by two very different teams with very different goals. BMCER does use very large amount of assets from BMCE, but this doesn't mean these two projects are one and the same or associated with each other. BMCER is officially associated with only the mods included in this collection. Any other mods using BMCER assets are not officially endorced by BMCER team or affiliated with us.

Black Mesa Character Expansion Revised, BMCER for short, is expansion to popular BMCE mod which introduces new models, features and bug fixes. BMCER began its life as a simple attempt to rework BMCE's character manifest to add even more character variety and to address bugs that were present at the time, but it has evolved in to full fledged unofficial expansion/remaster of it since then. Just like original BMCE, BMCER is both its own mod and a modder's resource for anybody to use towards their own projects, Black Mesa-related or otherwise. This is to say, you may use any assets included in this pack provided and as long as us (BMCER Team) and those whose assets we have used are credited correctly.

  • EASIER INSTALLATION PROCESS - Only non subjective bad thing about BMCE is how notoriously hard time some people have installing it. This mod streamlines the process a little bit as an attempt to make it easier, just put this mod and BMCE files in your custom folder and you are done, no decompiling needed. Take a look at the discussions for more detailed installation instructions.

  • REWORKED ARTSTYLE - BMCER completely overhauls all human characters to make them higher quality and to achieve its own unique style to differentiate it from BMCE and other mods of similar nature. Our new artstyle is mix between general GoldSrc aesthetic, HL1 style and more grounded BMS style. Basically this means our models take lot more inspiration from GoldSrc HL1, its expansions and various mods such as Hard Life and Half Life Extended than the base game ever did.

  • EXPANDED AND IMPROVED MODELS - BMCER modifies every single human model from vanilla game and BMCE to add extra details here and there, address bugs and inconsistencies as well as to offer maximum amount of face and gear variety. BMCER also adds multiple entirely new character models to fill in holes left untouched by other mods to provide more immersive take on BMRF staff!

  • ADDITIONAL SCIENTIST TYPES - Black Mesa now truly is equal opportunity employer and no longer discriminates against hiring overweight scientists. Scientists can now also be given a promotion to senior scientist and get the same white shirt tan sweater vest combo Dr. Keller had, or green shirt and a skirt like HL1 Alpha female scientist. Lambda Complex Xen survey team have been given special blue off-site uniform inspired by HL1 concept art. Scientists can also copy Gordon and don a HEV suit of their own. You may even spot the legendary Einstein scientist lurking around the place.

  • ADDITIONAL GUARD TYPES - Black Mesa Security Division have been issued bunch of new gear. Examples of this include jackets for night shifts, option for mall cop style untucked pants, 8point caps for checkpoint duty and utility belts for patrol officers. Their forces have also been bolstered by new subdivisions like men in black looking SSF agents,Black Mesa Transit Authority with high vis vests, First Response Tactical Operations Unit as well as HEV security units for areas with very high security clearance.

  • REVISED HECU - BMCER offers unique explanation for having both OpFor style PCV wearing HECU and HL1 LD pack style HECU by splitting them to their own groups. OpFor style HECU Incident Reaction Force and HL1 LD pack style DOE Security Force acting as BMRF's on-site military. Both groups are greatly expanded with large amount of extra gear, such as rucksacks, goggles, combat knives, tactical flashlights, glove and headgear variety. They have also received number of reinforcements in form of HECU engineers from Half Life: Opposing Force, HECU pilots usually seen operating Apaches and Ospreys and even robogrunts from previously censored German versions of HL1 who can now all be seen during the game!

  • EXTENDED SUPPORT FOR HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT COMBAT UNIT REMASTERED - Hazardous Environment Combat Unit Remastered aka HECUR is fully supported by BMCER, and its models get even more bodygroup variety when using these two together. All of the changes from Revised HECU still apply to HECUR, but with BMCER you will also see them using MOPP hoods, arm mounted PCVAID computers, ammo belts, knee pads and lot of other gear!

  • ENHANCED CHARACTER MANIFEST AND FACIAL VARIETY - Character manifest has been expanded upon to make use of all the models and bodygroups included in the mod. BMCER Does its best to make sure every single NPC (or at least their corpses) you meet during the Black Mesa campaign is unique. In addition to the ones already present in vanilla game and BMCE, BMCER includes over 120 new faces textures! You will still see twins, especially among HECU, but you can be assured BMRF staff is more varied than ever before.

  • RESTORED PRE-RELEASE CONTENT - BMCER brings number of pre-release cut andor unused content and ideas from both base BMS and BMCE to life and making them fit the style of BMCER. Examples of this include enhanced Hazard Course entries, pens in scientist pockets, security guard shoulder mics, properly textured security guard holsters, striped shirts for office workers, consistent female office workers and dr Kleiner with closed coat!

  • EXTENDED AND RESTORED VOICELINES - BMCER doesnt just offer visual variety, but also auditory. It comes with version of CitizenFives Extended Captions and Dialogue mod that, among other smaller changes, has been edited to include F5Man's female guard voicelines.

The zombie guard chest gib is bugged. I tested to see if I have any conflicts by removing everything else from my custom folder (except for BMCE & BMCE:R related files of course) and it still looks the same
