If you did want to go the rework route, deflecting bullets with your claws in the direction you're swinging would be fun. Maybe this has "health" like a shield, or consumes energy with each bullet deflected, so you can't just charge into heavy fire all the time.
I agree that it makes very little sense for it to be that way.
I've made the claws by taking vanilla 'Fist' weapons and modifying them to the best of my extremely limited ability and understanding - so being invulnerable from all sides isn't intentional, but rather inherited from the way vanilla SB does it.
I'd greatly appreciate any help in adjusting the way it works, which seems like something that'd require a certain degree of additional scripting, because I genuinely wouldn't know where to begin with it, nor do I currently have enough free time to properly figure it out T-T
Ignoring shotguns and flamethrowers to the face to close the distance is amusing the first time, less so the twelfth time. If you could find a way to fix this - distinguishing damage sources, making the protection directional like a shield, or whatever have you - I'd be the happiest cat in space :3
