I just added it cause I also find it strange how no other race can smith guns. Confirmed to work just fine on 1.3 ^_^

It should not require a character restart. You should be able to install and use it for old characters.

Should've been part of the vanilla game tbqh. Combining this with Frackin Races still gives Novakids unique bonuses while also making everyone be able to use guns.

fantastic to hear some custom races really need this mod imo (I'm looking at the gardevoir race as it has no weapons so loot weapons were the only thing you can use without mods specifically)

This mod doesn't edit individual races and instead edits the default recipe files. This means that it probably adds the recipes to every single character, including custom races whether they have their own custom weapons or not.
