For anyone having problems with saving asstes multiple times without restarting the game:

I believe either Unified UI 2.2 or Skyve v3.3.2.1 are the problem. More likely the former one, but removing those two mods fixed the Extended Asset Editor not wanting to save a 2nd vehicle without restarting the game.

I tried it again and realized: I was the problem myself. ;-) I didn't click save in the mod menu, I saved through the game. That seems to have been the problem.

Your mod works without any problems! :-)

I've tested it by creating a new passenger train asset with various trailers, the save screen works multiple times and I don't see any errors. Are you using any other mods, they may be conflicting?

I can only save asset for once, the save botton doesn;t work after saved once. I have to restart the game to save more than 1 asset after the update. strange

Did a rebuild against the current (1.17.0-f3) game version, seems to work now from what I've tested

In your mod generated name for trailer variation and in option set in the zero submesh, m_variationMask have zero. Vanilla asset set this by default is one.

A fix is ​​required as the workaround is redundant: This increases the size of the asset.
This causes the game to not correctly use the lighting textures in the lod.

Please fix it.

the degree of compression probably varies depending on what kind of asset you import. i have no experience on this but i think when you use "appropriate" texture sizes you wont notice it that much.

@pan.czmielu i think its the texture compression. ive tried various ways to get rid of it but you cant really. you can mitigate it but the textures will always be compressed when you import them unfortunately.

@Acc3ss Violation, I managed to create the asset I wanted thanks to your pieces of advice! I think thatt these newly created assets of mine lost some sharpness when loaded in the game. Do you know maybe what could be the cause?

Version 0.7.0 is up which adds a new display option "Show cargo". You can use it to preview trailer variations in the editor without having to manually toggle submeshes.

The coupler would have to be part of the model of (one of) the trailers.

@straha Not with the click of a button. Passenger and cargo trains both use different AI and there might be some other differences between them as well. I haven't looked into a way to create an automatic conversion process for them.

The easiest way is probably to re-import the model as a cargo train instead. If you don't have it you can ask the author nicely or try to decompile it from the game.

@pan.czmielu if you want to use an engine car as the trailer just give the train any trailer, select it in the Vehicles list and then use the "Set engine (copy)" button on it. That should replace it with the engine, which will be saved as a trailer once you save the asset.

Very helpful mod indeed! One question though...is there a way to convert a passenger train into a functional cargo train? I have a locomotive in a functional passenger train that I want to convert to a functional cargo train.

Version 0.6 is now available for game version 1.15.1. I've made a quick asset to test the basic flow of things and that worked, but I haven't run through all the mod's options. So please leave a comment if any issues still show up.

Obviously there is a conflict with EAE and new game version 1.15.1. Saving with EAE in the editor is not working any longer after the game update. Please update EAE to 1.15.1 compatible, so we can save new assembled trains!

deactivated every other mod besides harmony and extended asset editor.

as of today i cannot save anymore. i click the save button but nothing happens.
this wouldnt be a problem as i could still save with the games intended method.
but im trying to save submeshes aswell and the submesh-mask-numbers do not get saved aswell as me not being able to make multitrailer trains.

I don't know why my editor has been removed. Was skylines unhappy with my modded cargo train that they removed my ability now to click on asset creator as it says now it cant show up with 81 tiles on but its prolly more likely the AVO mod interfering maybe?

Do this mod and its dependencies need to be subscribed and activated in order to properly use the created vehicles in game or are they needed for creation/editing of the assets?
Besides, I have not found a tutorial page or video. If such exists, a link is highly appreciated.

So to ask what may be obvious to you but where is the megaphone??? I cant find asset editor anywhere when i'm in the game etc its not listed on my mods. Do i have to have Advanced vehicle options turned on to make this work etc whats its dependencies besides harmony and trailer variation mod? Where is AE in the workshop anywhere please send me a link

is there a mod so i can use more then the 64 prop limit? it really pisses me off that limit. i could make buildings better when i could use more then 64 props. 80-90 would be fine for large buildings etc. let me know please thanks !!!

I have experienced a problem with this mod when I tried to make a multi-carriage train. When I added the trailers in the asset editor, everything looked fine and all the trailers were showing. However, when I saved the asset using the save button (tried both the save buttons in this mod and in the game) and loaded up a test city, I noticed that none of the trailers spawned and only the engine/leading carriage showed. Does anyone know why this happens? I didn't have this problem with the vanilla asset editor.

Need custom order, or at least 2 car type. I need simple traincar and motorized one, but unable to use them both.
