ATTENTION: SPOILER AHEAD
A really outstanding level. Another masterpiece !!! Thank you so much for it. This one together with level 3 are my personal favorites so far. Apart from being quite large it is also quite difficult , which is totally to my liking. It took me quite some time to find all the secret areas. By the way when I completed it for the first time, I thought that I had found a 2nd level exit. I was so proud. :) I was also wandering why you didn't mention it in your level description. Only later did I find out that the other one is fake. Brilliant idea! Kudos.
Now I only need to complete level 4 to finish World 7.

Almost fubar'd one try of the level by trying to fool that one single-cube door right after the entrance slide. 2 blocks on the cube-plate inside the door jam it open until reset somehow the door refused to open to any method of regular opening after one try to do that. thanks god i had a green cube spare to escape that trap

You are very welcome! I'm very happy that you are enjoying my levels. I completely agree that levels, community built and especially in games, should be accessible to average players, but built so that they are encouraged to grow and learn new things. When a level is fun for an average player and still teaches new skills to an advanced player, that is a huge success!

If the attraction of lots of levels done by players, entices people to buy this game, then perhaps being able to have a chance to FINISH the level is a good thing! With alternate routes, one can pick and choose which path is possible for them. Maybe the first time thru you play an easy route, and then as your confidence and skills build, you pick the more difficult path. When those choices are there, it not only makes for enhanced replayability, as i mentioned earlier, but also a rich, more layered experience for the player. I didnt mean to write a book here...LOL. But again, thank you for your work.

I too, enjoy the concept of alternate routes. Not only because they provide more replayability, but because they allow an average player like myself, to still be able to get thru the level and SEE all the cool stuff i would miss, were there only one difficult path (that i cannot always do like other people that are better players can do). And i think if levels are MORE able to be completed by all levels of players, that is good for the sales of the game too. I am imagining that the distribution of players is probably shaped like a bell curve, with less good at one end, and extremely good at the far end and most of us in the middle.

Thanks so much! I really like alternate routes. I am so glad you are enjoying the levels! That's why I build them. :)

I did and it was great! I'm so glad i got to see the other half of the level. I know you usually give lots of ways to finish a level fairly. It was really my error in not looking well enough; again, thank you so much for your good work. :)
Mrs Ellie  [author] 7 May, 2016 @ 8:43pm
I'm sorry it was so hard! You are very welcome. Ask any time. :) I hate to make people stuck. I definitely want people to finish my levels. Did you manage to finish this one?
Mariah5861 7 May, 2016 @ 3:43pm
I've been playing your level for the last 2 hours straight, and couldnt figure it out...so THANK you for the tips!
Mrs Ellie  [author] 7 May, 2016 @ 3:26pm
Thanks so much! :) Well, you have two options. Three, really.
1. You can use a green cube to get you started out over the fans, then jump from fan to fan.
2. You can use a purple cube to jump up to the fans, I think ... not sure.
3. You can find the shortcut to the roof from a side area out back (where it is possible to jump on the wing of the save stone). Try going up. Creatively. Then take the roof over, and skip the fans entirely.
4. Find the save stone with the hazard cubes on the floor ... and reset after activating the save stone, then see what happens. Turn on the fans first though. ]
That's 4. I think those are your options ... but practicing jump timing with the fans is key. Lots of people don't like fans because they don't work the greatest in the workshop. So I apologize ... full refund of play time available on request. ;) Just kidding! Message me if you can't get it working. Have fun!

Your maps are wonderful and fun Mrs. Ellie. I've gotten all the fans going, but cant figure out how to zip across them without dying.

I did use the red cubes. I even tried to use more of them, but the ceiling is too low, so you can't reach the Force Cube afterwards. Luckily it is possible to climb the glass ramp anyway.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I really do appreciate it. :)

I agree - I don't like the glass tower that much either. I should make it shorter - it worked at first, but then it seemed to stop working. Did you try it with the two red cubes hidden in the maze under the green cube ?
And yes, the respawning thing is so counter intuitive that it was really hard to call it "real gameplay"! I guess that's what we learn in gaming. But it's a fun dynamic all the same. :)

Like in one of your previous levels, I disliked the secret under a statue which required a suicide for the respawn. It did not feel like finding a clever solution, but cheating the game.
The second area was the glass tower outside. No matter what I did, it was not possible for me to reach the top with a force cube. Obviously the two energy cubes up there were optional, so it did not bother me that much. Also, since there was another way to reach the top I could still grab them. But still, due to the fact that the force cube solution seemed so obvious and actually didn't work (Red Herring?) I again felt like cheating the game.
Doing this is fun when it isn't intended to do it, but if it is required to advance it feels a bit wrong, in my opinion. But like I said, lucky both of these areas were not required to advance and totally optional, so I was fine with it.

Ha ha! That is hilarious! :) I actually designed that door to steel the cubes after seeing the idea in another level (it is so hard to steal cubes back!). I am really glad that you enjoyed the level! Which areas didn't you like? I would really appreciate feedback - as a game dev, criticism is more appreciated than praise because it helps us do better. :) I am so glad you liked the roof!

Finally found the time to check this out. Great Level. I had a ton of fun seeking out all the secrets. I disliked two specific areas, but one was only for a secret, the other one was totally optional so no hard feelings there.

I think you made a little error there with the door, that blocks the two cubes required to lift it. They can still be takes with proper positioning.
Nonetheless, great level. I think the amount of joy I felt when I grabbed the Gravity Cube on the roof is actually unhealthy and weird.

Great job! One secret down, four to go and you made it to the end! :) I'm glad you like the level. I had a lot of fun with this one. Let me know if you need a hint to find any of the secrets.

Wow - thanks so much for your kind words! I owe much to the other level builders in the workshop and the patience of Limboh and Wassh for helping me test so I could fix things. I am really glad you enjoyed the level! It took forever ... I worked on it for several weeks, a little most days, and was really happy when it was done. I have no idea how some of the builders can make levels so fast! :)
Let me know if you want a hint on finding the secrets. There are 5, and I almost had more fun building them than the main parts of the level! I love secrets and shortcuts.
Re the bug, I'm not sure what went wrong; I sometimes get bugs right at the start and purple cubes are especially prone to bugs.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it very much.

I´m completely astonished. It´s an amazing level. From the level design to the aesthetics it is an incredible level. So professional. I can´t tell you but congratulations. How long did it take you to build it? I loved the central beacon...it´s very original and imposing. I found the secret ending (that final cube dance was awesome!) and a couple of secret-like areas, not sure if all of them.
Just one thing: at the very beginning, I found myself in the middle of the sky and dying over and over till I got all of a sudden in front of the entrance. It was a buggy start, no idea why.
Well, again congratulations for making such an amazing level!

Thanks! I learned to use colored light cubes from Sky Garden and Tower Garden. I am amazed by how beautiful they are. This level took me so long to build! I started at the end and then the middle then finally built a beginning. I'm just glad it's done ... except for when Limboh finds those unauthorized shortcuts. ;)

Wow! That looks awesome! I´ll check it out as soon as I can!
