To fix the wireframe problem go to this site - "https://atomicnetworks.co/tools/css-textures-gmod" and download the l4d2 game content file, extract it, and put all the content from the "materials" folder in the game content file into the materials folder in the workshop folder, copy this path to get there "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SourceFilmmaker\game\workshop"

I'm having the exact same wireframe problem described below. And no, importing the textures from L4D2 itself did not fix it.

I'm finding wireframes in the main building all over the place and there's a small missing texture too... Don't know what's up... It may be me missing something, but I do have the L4D content mounted...

no its a tf2 dark style map, this is similar but its not in a giant skyscraper with a view like i wanted.

I have L4D2 from dlc of sfm, but there are still so many missing pieces like the outer wall of the hotel and the floor inside. Do I need to own the game?

check garrysmod.org and you should find it. all the maps on my account came from my gmod ports.

when you open pak01_dir with GCFScape there will be two folders needed, materials, and models. copy and extract those to the usermod folder in sfm directory

It's fine. Make sure when you start up sfm that you are set to the correct directory. If you moved all the right textures and models from pak01_dir to the materials and models of the usermod folder, then its good. But, if the directory is not set to usermod, then there is issue

dont worry about it.
you will need to have the game left 4 dead or left 4 dead 2. In your steam directory for the game, there is a file called pak01_dir, you need GCFScape to open it. In that file there are folders for materials and models. Just extract those to your sfm directory (most likely where usermod directory is if that is the one you are using).

For me, thit's missing a lot of texture mapping/ polygons. How to I mount the L4D2 stuff? Sorry, I'm still new to SFM, I'm still ignorant to the technical aspects of the software.

I took the original maps from left 4 dead and left 4 dead 2, removed any of the unnecessary props like blood, bodies, broken cars, replaced some blocks so they look normal, changed the skybox and lighting, exported it and poof. clean up map!
