Yeah, I'd love to learn about OSB, like, I know a lot of stuff that OSB brings and that I simply love, but the only thing that stops me from doing that is time (because I would need to learn a lot of OSB code, I think, and it would end up being a lot of work), and also one of my principles for mods, which is not to force players to install any dependencies. Of course I can think more about this in the future, especially when I can finally take a break from regular work to really understand how OSB really works. Anyway, it's something that's on the agenda, and if I manage to do it I'll let you know! Thank you very much for the comments and for being so kind as to read the posts here, it means a lot to me =)
OSB is a life savour as it fixes crashes and improves FPS i remember playing my collection of mods and having starbound stutter every 3 minutes with OSB its pritty much gone i also say if you ever do consider OSB making a patch for it would save the hassle of having to add each race mod a person requests one at a timei know OSB has a discord you oculd as them for help idk but thank you for this mod again another mod that just fixes stuff now we have a option to BYOS so we can have the normal upgrade system or the BYOS system
these mods seem to follow the [Cumulative Patch] system doesn't matter what mod you have installed they will support it and they don't even need to update there mods to support newer mods

First: I'm pretty bad at coding, like, I probably only know the most simple way to do most of stuff, and I feel like oSB would require a little more talent/study about coding, that's why I keep away from it (even if I just love the things it add).
Second: I have some "patterns" about my mods, for example "never make a mod that is not safe to uninstall" and "never ask the player to download more than one file" is one of them, so, because of that conflict I kinda avoid oSB.
The idea is pretty amazing tho, and maybe at the future I can change my mind when I understand how to work with the oSB, but for now, I probably will prefer add race by race indeed. Thanks for the comment =)
Also, I have no idea which Reddit post this was from, but I'm really happy it came out at such perfect timing. I also liked that you understood the concept of it being an option for those who don't want to use the more conventional BYOS methods, and I even tried to add some extra details, just to make it a viable and interesting option.
But seriously, if you want any patches for other races, just send their names here and it will be added. I'll test how these patches would be made today to get everything ready. Thanks a lot for the comment =)
I wouldnt need each race to have different ships-thats as you say player choice and easily done by one self. It would be nice to have a selection to choose from like FU and addons offers, but it is not inheritly needed rlly-could also be just an addon for people.
Other than that im suprised how early this got out, feels like 2-4 weeks ive read about this in reddit?
There's also the fact that I planned to make it in a way that veteran and new players could enjoy the mod, and even those who would like to stick with the default ship for a while and then upgrade to the custom ship can also enjoy the mod. All of this causes some problems when we think about an upgradable ship.
I would really, really, really love to design new ships for players who don't want to build, but also don't like the vanilla one, and I'm thinking about ways to do that, but I'm pretty sure the Modules in a Box, or some system like that would work waaaay better than an upgradable system. I'll take a look at that, and will try to improve the mod, thanks for the comment! =)
Maybe I could even support new races with custom ships. At the moment, I just took a structure that I built and thought would work for most players, and I only modified the items related to the races within that structure, like the pilot's chair, hatches, SAIL, and things like that, but I definitely think about making a prettier and different ship for each species in the future. The only reason I didn't do this is that, somehow, I felt that it would break a little bit of the main purpose of the mod, which would be to allow each player to build the way they want.
I'm pretty sure it work nicely with other BYOS mods. One important thing to mention is that my mod upgrades the ship to Level 10. I've seen other mods that increase it to higher levels, like 40, 69, 99, and things like that, so probably if you use another mod that increases it to these levels, the Alpha Ship settings will be overridden, but in general it should work. Another detail is that the way I made the oxygen and gravity system involves the player much more than the world of the ship, this way it is more modular and you can remove/install it at any time and in a compatible way =)
BYO capsule has to replace the ship with essentially 9 million copy-pastes, once per species supported, and I'd really prefer a better solution short of trying to figure out if I can't pull an oSB style patch out of my ass
