thankyou :)
I have subscribed to yours.
I rarely play Aperture Tag.
even though I have 1 map there under construction.
but I have added a couple of yours to the list, for when I go back there.
thankyou :)
just added a few of your maps to my list.
Ele20002
if by getting the cube over the glass.
you mean the glass at the side of the upper cube button.
I have made it higher.
if you mean the glass floor, on the same level as the upper button.
I just tested & jumping off my recording, I grabed it.
due to being on the items limit.
I had to delete a light strip, from above the 1st light bridge.
dark now.
but it might add to the effect ?
thankyou for playing & your comments.
the door past the turret has 3 buttons required to open it.
the 2 pedestal buttons & the button on the wall.
not sure where you lost the cube exactly.
I would like to know, so I could fix that.
shame you never reached the last chamber.
as it was the main puzzle chamber, with different TWTM mechanics.
if your stuck, their is a walkthrough video, just above the thumbs up / thumbs down.
The only problem was that I think I may have come across an impossible area. Mayby.
After the turret, I recorded pressing the button and went to retreve the cube. However when I placed it on the button and activated the recording, the 2 parts for the door where orange, but the door didn't open. Eventually I accidentally got the cube over the glass and lost it forever.
I'm not sure if this is a bug but if it is, you may want to try and fix it. What I did was good though :D
see change notes for details.
thankyou stormsend :)
shame you watched video, before trying the solution, in last part.
your sense of satisfaction would have probably been more, if you solved it 1st.
even though you had figured it out ?
thankyou very much for the video :)
1st chamber: you went with the cube. no problem leaving that alone.
2nd chamber: you did the portaling differently.
but you had a good solution. might stop that, if item limit alows ? as I was trying to introduce using 2 portals from the recording & 2 from live play, in combonation.
3rd chamber, past the (turret): you also pressed the pedestal button from above.
I wanted the recording to float up to the pedestal button, without the funel.
might fix this.
in last chamber turrets behind glass, were behind glass panels.
I had to replace with glass, & delete a cube droper & button, to build this.
so updates may destroy this map or not ?
thankyou daloboy for testing my map.
as it is a relatively new concept.
I explained so of the mechanic of time machine, in the comments.
perhaps they will help.
sounds like your doing well.
hint: linear
if you make any of these maps.
please send me a link, so I don't miss it.
also their is no item limit error.
when I went over the items limit, after clicking build, it put my in the other map,
I had been working on.
with very bright light distortion.
I went back to editor & deleted some items & it worked fine.
I have left these & other comments for the creator to see.
so maybe a future fix in an update ?
also I verify the integrity of the game cache before every launch of this game.
their are always files that fail, but steam then fixes it.
I mentioned this as well.
their are a lot of possibilities for this game.
I am glad I played portal 2 1st.
as this would be a lot harder, if I had not.
I give this game the thumbs up.
And it was free, for portal 2 owners :)
thankyou for your kind words.
glad my comments helped you with some of the machanics.
sounds like your nearly there.
not sure about the save system. just try it & see.
the timer gives plenty of time.
hint:
the recording can involve as much as you like.
you can play it as often as you like.
you can stop it when you like.
you can start it when you like.
happy your having fun :)
I am working on another 2.
1 is nearly finished.
the other far from it.
Maybe I'm missing something but I sure wish that timer had one more second on it. I am hoping you'll make more of these. They're more fun than I realized. I'll come back to it after I cogitate a little. btw Is it possible to save a game like in the original campain. I use F6 but I mean if you leave do you always start at the beginning?
can't reach something. record yourself crouching, then stand, stop recording.
now press play & jump on your recordings shoulders.
when chell stands, you can jump to an area, 1 tile higher.
you can stop the recording at any time.
does not sound important. but it can be essential.
if you go through fizzlers.
they won't close your recordings portals.
if you record your self going in & out of a portal.
then where one or 2 of the portals were, a flip panel makes them non portable.
press play & your recording goes into a wall, where the portal used to be & comes out of the wall, where you did, without any portals, like magic.
hope you find these T.W.T.M. machanics helpfull.
not giving the puzzle away, but some info on the machanics of the recording:
the recording can not die (imortal).
the recording will go exactly where you went.
even if the means you used, is no longer available.
eg, if in live play you walk along deployed panels.
then the panels close & then you press play.
your recording would still walk where you did.
even though it means walking in mid air.
if you press a button in live play, your recording will press it as well.
variation with grabing cubes:
if you grab a cube in live play, for the recording to do the same,
the cube needs to be in the same place, you grabed it. or very near.
but it does not have to be the same cube, as long as it is in the same place.
live play, pressing to grab a cube that is not there.
but will be there for your recording.
your recording does not grab the cube.
so cube buttons or funels help keep cubes, especially spheres, where you want your recording to grab them from.
no need to appologize.
thankyou for letting me know how you are doing.
3rd chamber is progress :)
& it is a fairly new concept (compaired to portal 2, which still makes us think).
their are also more possibilities, than you see in the campagn.
so your doing well.
I never played co-op.
I like to play at my own pace.
this allows me to do that.
