@Artiston yeah. I think I can do that.
In fact consolidating interior walls, seats, steering wheel and potentially couple variants of engines and dashboards might be a good idea. I will pencil ti's task into the work queue.
But other tasks would have to take priority. Like figuring out what changed in VVE42 recently. Making SVU armor for racing cars. Making animations for Drive 90s cars. Making animations for wrecks... Actually that last one probably can go after enhancing seats.

@Hilvon Better modeled seats and steering wheels are my suggestion, since they all seem to use the same basic texture, i think it would be pretty easy to change the models as current ones are too lowpoly.

@Shaman Rock, like I mentioned before - I am unfortunately not an expert on how to deal with that situation.
Though when I ran into a problem with a mod after manually deleting a folder and steam not automatically re-downloading it, file verification was what helped me.

Also just to double check - is your server hosted from client or is it a dedicated server elsewhere? Because if the latter is the case you might have to temporarily shit the server down and force it to update mod rater than try fixing it from your client side.

Hi @Hilvon, I've been doing this for over a week now. Once I delete the folder manually, I unsubscribe and subscribe again, the folder is no longer downloaded from Steam, and when I reinsert the copy of the deleted folder, I get the usual error message.

@Artiston I am open to suggestions what improvement you would like to see.
Unfortunatery the Zomboid engine does not appear to use general directional light, so normals only factor into shader calculations in presence of artificial lighting like lamp posts. So my ability to define parts of the interiors mere than they already are is limited by existing textures.

@Artiston - To answer your question - no. This mod does not add any skins/textures.
Vanilla skins appearing alongside VVE textures is on VVE port.

When using it alongside VVE, some cars have an extra skin that is the vanilla textures, like the taxi, it has the VVE skin but also has another skin that is the vanilla skin, does your mod add extra skins to some cars?

Hello all! Mod is updated. Again.
Just the build 42 version this time. Added animations for new racing cars.
If you are in the camp of being upset by cars spawning with headlights - there is a yet another optional submod to make cars spawn without lights - players still can install lights if they so choose.
SVU armor support for racing cars is still work in progress.

@Shaman Rock - This message indicates a mismatch of mod version between your client and server. The way to resolve it is to make sure both client and server are fully up to date. Doing that might require temporarily unsubscribing from the workshop item, and manually removing mod files so that server is forced to download updated version.
Unfortunately I have no hands on experience fixing such issues and unable to give you detailed step by step description of what to do.

Hi after update, now i have always this problem:

@Cari - normally I would try to be nice and fix the issue on my end.
But if KI5 for some ungodly reason uses vehicle IDs of functional vanilla vehicles for their smashed wrecks - I would have to ask you go bother KI5 till they stop doing that.

when this mod is activated KI5 cars that are wrecked are morphed into some unrecognizable vehicle.

@phxntom1213 ага. Спасибо за предупреждение. На Реддите тоже уже поступило предложение анимировать "открытие двери" как опускание сетки а не собственно движение двери.

Еще пошло горячее обсуждение про то что наскары не вставляют фары по умолчанию. Это тоже будет учтено при анимировании.

@rebel6301 - there might be some compatability issues with specific KI5 mods trying to replace vanilla Vehicles rather than using distinct vehicle IDs. But if you encounter such issues - let me tnow and I can tell my mod to ignore those vehicles and let KI5 handle them if their mod is active.

Also I got reports of some KI5 mods breaking the ability to not show character in the interior... still waiting to get time to investigate and hopefully fix it.

@infernal - not yet.
I did not get any preview of the update before it went public. And so didn't get the opportunity to handle the new vehicles yet.
Unfortunately between work and life, it would be a couple days before I have the opportunity to work on updating the mod. But I will do my best to make an update by Saturday evening.
Thankfully all the new cars seem to share the model. But I would also have to make sure there aren't more comercial van variants trying to sneak in.

@kanye West 21 - I am sorry you are having a problem. But that information you are giving me is not enough for me to even figure out what the problem you are experiencing even is. My guess is the passenger render disabler is not working for you. There indeed appears to be a problem whin used in combination with some other mods. But I still didn't have an opportunity to investigate what it might be and how to address it.
My current guesses is - my "disabling" of passengers being rendered is actually just preventing my mod from patching vanilla Vehicles in that regard and maintaining vanilla behaviour. If another mod patches the whole vanilla behaviour to have passengers render by default - that would indeed override my "disabler".

@sadavod - sorry, but any aspects of how headlights function is beyond the scope of this mode. The only thing I do with headlights is show a gaping hole where the light should be if the headlight is removed/destroyed.

Probably a mod like "High beams" would be something you need?

I noticed that the issue with the brightness of the car headlights at night hasn’t been fixed. The headlight lamps look very dim. Can this be resolved somehow?

Do you mean after installing a KI5 mod passengers start rendering inside vanilla vehicles too? That is indeed a strange behaviour. Please let me know what KI5 mods you are using so I can try to replicate the issue for debugging.

@Baggers, @Jedi Ranger Kendor - as mentioned in one of previous replies - there is no point in keeping the SVU compatability patch enabled if you are not using SVU. So feel free to disable the red-marked mod and still have animations work.

To disable a mod in existing save, go to "Load game" menu, select the game, then at the bottom-right click "More". In the left side panel click "Mods" and then you can modify the list of enabled mods for that save to either add SVU3 or disable compatability patch.

I've only installed the KI5 car model, and then the "disabling passengers" feature will become ineffective. Additionally, you to enable the "disabling passengers" option first, and then activate the main function for it to take effect. I'm not sure if it's due to my personal error!:spiffo:

@Starky In build 41 there were 2 versions of SVU in use. And since the mod needed to support both of them, neither could be listed as hard dependency. So you could use the mod while having either or neither enabled. Though in case you had neither enabled the mod would literally do nothing as all its code is gated behind conditional statement.
With build 42 onlu SVU3 is updated. So I specified it as hard dependency as that would help things like mod load sorter to better figure out which mod should be loaded first.

If you are experiencing this issue in B41 - I am sorry for messing this up. I will now go double check build 41 setup... In fact I have to also check if there is still compatability with SVU2 or did I buldoze it by accident.

@cperrot - Standard Vehicles Animated - Standard Vehicle Upgrades Patch is only needed if you want to use vehicle armor added by Standard Vehicle Upgrades - and based on you missing the mentioned mod you don't.
But in case you do want the ability to tune up your cars with extra armor and stuff - the workshop item you are missing is:

It will also have a bunch of dependencies of its own, but hopefully you will be able to sort it out.
Or just keep the SVU compatability patch off if you only need vehicle animations.

Same as cperrot here, mod updated and now the standard vehicle upgrade patch is red and X'ed and cannot be re-selected.

Likely because you added a dependency and as I don't use that mod V3 mod I never needed the patch in the first place.

It is safe to ignore the warning though and load your save.

@OxTailSafu - Depends on the mod. But I would expect mods that don't include animated state for door/window being open/missing to have any reason to show character in the interior so they wouldn't go out of their way to enable it.

Would that also apply for modded cars that aren't animated? Does that mean your mod would not show your character if you entered a car that wasn't animated by this mod?

@cperrot - I am not sure I understand what you mean by "game telling me mod is missing".
Does it fail to show in the mods list?

Usually a good way to ensure the latest update is downloaded is to unsubscribe and resubscribe after a minute. Verifying game files might help too.

Well, first of to clear out obvious thing out of the way - the only modded cars the passenger render disabler would affect are cars that are animated by this mod. If you use other mods that add animated cars - their rendering or hiding passengers inside interior would be up to them.
Second thing to try and see if it fixes the issue is make sure the latest version of the mod got downloaded. Steam is sometimes notoriously bad at downloading updates. Usually unsubscribing from a mod, waiting a minute for steam to do cleanup and resubscribing should do the trick.

It looks to be all vehicles, vanilla and modded. I am using various car mods, which includes k15's vehicles, fhqwhgads's Motorious Zone Vehicle Pack, as well as a few single car mods.

@Das Mexikaner - Checked the lines indicated in the log and unfortunately can't reproduce the issue. The closes to the reason I can think of is - in Build41 SVU compatability patch is not listing Standard Vehicle Upgrades core as dependency (since it is designed to work with both SVU2 and SVU3 and can't tell which one of those it has to depend on) and the bug might be caused by SVU patch trying to load before SVU3 Core is loaded and that is what is causing the issue.
Unfortunately more indepth testing of that theory would have to wait till I get back home from work. (T_T). In the meantime it would be helpful if you could check if changin the mod load order around (if you don't have a load order sorter - just deactivate VVA_SVU patch and then reactivate it - it should put it to the bottom of the list) helps.

Hm from what I'm seeing, I can still see my character while in the vehicle despite having both versions enabled at the same time. Would you recommend I put the render disabler all the way at the tops perhaps?
