Perhaps I was trying to be less forceful, because I certainly notice its absence

In agreement with Shinoskay. This is a key tool in designing natural looking colonies. Without this my colonies feel too well planned, which they are, but they don't look like real towns. This shows me where traders come in, and also highlights what obstacles change the direction the travel. I hadn't realized how much I relied on this until updating 1.6. Please update ASAP.

this is NOT a niche mod, it performs a critical role in the colony.

One, it creates a clear view of where pawns frequently travel. This can allow critical planning for paving and trapping.

Two, it can also be used to smoothen stone without extra laboring. Easily improving the beauty inside a base and making travel faster where there is stone.

Three. its an exceptional story tool where you can have a realistic sense of foot pathing and dirt compacting and stone erosion from travel. one of my favorite aspects of this mod. Thinking about rocky surfaces smoothening, and dirt compacting, because of frequent travel makes me happy.

There is now a mod in 1.6 that showcases how to do path prioritizing for 1.6 in a performant way: https://github.com/llunak/rimworld-pathfindingavoidance

Hopefully this allows you to update to update the mod to 1.6 when you have the time.

This mod does not work on 1.6

There's a bit of a bug where the game decides to form dirt paths - on solid stone! Or wooden flooring. Or pretty much any flooring, really.

is it safe to remove mid game?????

There's a bug where desire paths create packed dirt ... from sand !

Love this mod just wish you could turn it off for animals so they dont trample their whole enclosure. No idea if thats possible but would be cool

i'm personally OK with the position of the two stuck sliders in settings, but yes, they are stuck.

It would also be handy if the slider resolution was increased for the smoothing stone slider. Unless I want to go find the config file and manually enter a figure and then reboot Rimworld, I'm stuck with 2467 instead of a flat 2500. Really only a problem for autists like me.

any news on fixing the issue mentioned by @simplephysics?
SimplePhysics 22 Jun, 2024 @ 10:04am
Hmm, follow up: it seems this version of the mod has the same problem that NPS has, and in the mod settings, I can't move the slider for the "snow path clearing speed". Changing the value in the config manually also crashes the game after launch, so it seems I'm up a creek on this one. :KSad:

Thank you for this update! The version included in "Nature's Pretty Sweet" is OP in cold biomes because it instantly tramples all snow layers... so thank you for this version's revival!

Ah yes, traders may trample my corn once more
