I personally use this along side the ‘Search for loot improved’ mod. And have no problems with that one. In case you want to try that instead. :steamthumbsup:

The thing is though, normal cans of food can spoil if opened too but I never encounter the problem with them. I'll keep looking into it

Yes that will be the problem. Sounds like you would only need to spawn the safe versions in garbage, and allow the settings of that mod to add disease. Or disable disease from garbage and use both safe and unsafe. Whatever you prefer really.

It's happening with all cans, but I don't have any other food-related mods installed. I'll test again after a wipe in the future, as I recently removed CookZ and that mod was fucking up a lot of things - may be related.

My only other guess is that maybe the 'FoodStageChance' of dumpster dive, that often causes looted meat to be rotten, is somehow also making the opened cans of food start spoiled?

Only unknown food may do that. If it is happening with other cans, you likely have conflict with another mod. If so, join discord for support.

The new version will likely be more adjustable. With the addition of a json where you can adjust certain values. Made a start to it already, just takes a bit of time testing.

I will look into it, thank you. I want to add it as a more 'low tier' food item, but fear it is too punishing for new spawns while geared players likely wouldn't even pick it up.

Hey. This was not effected by 1.27, as my script overrides any vanilla changes. I am currently testing a change to the sickness though, more inline with vanilla. As vanilla food poisoning is still really soft, and not much of a problem. Which I don’t like. Only way to change the sickness in the mod now is with an override mod. :steamthumbsup: Join the discord if you want to discuss more.

Did this mod get broken by 1.27's Food Poisoning changes? Is there an option to make them just give the new food poisoning, instead of this variant that requires a specific combo-cure?

If you are eating wolf meat is it likely you are still getting sick. If that also adds food poisoning as part of its disease. Taking a multi vitamin won’t block the disease either. If you need more help jump in the discord :steamthumbsup:

I might have an issue with medical attention??? Eating cooked food gives me food poison? Or is that just because of wolf meat?

@meggerzthe2nd I have no tested this alongside that mod. This mod changes the food poisoning mechanic entirely. So their may be some conflicts there, you would need to try it out. :steamthumbsup:

Hi, does this mod work alongside "terjemedicine"? In your description you say that eating old food gives you food poisining, and to cure food poisoning requires tetra and multivitamins. In the terjemedicine mod, it adds new medicine, and new requirements for healing new conditions. Is it possible to add your old food to a server, but to ignore your conditions to heal food poising, and use the method from terjemedicine?

Any help is greatly appreciated

@MaccaNZ @Malau Thanks for the comments guys. I had initially only intended to make open versions, to make it seem more plausible for them to get you sick. But I could look to adding some closed versions too.

I second what MaccaNZ said. Closed old cans replacing the fresh looking vanilla cans would really add to the atmosphere.

Have you thought of adding closed cans to the mod? So we can have a mix as I love the texture looks lore realistic than brand new cans
