Description
Features
- This mod adds 15 re-textured and modified food items to the game.
- Some versions are safe to eat, and others will get you sick.
- Server owners have full control over the chance, via their types file.
- Closed cans will always be safe to eat once opened.
- Eating unsafe items will give the player food poisoning.
- Server owners can also control different settings of the food poisoning.
- Unsafe items are also harder to digest, and fill the players stomachs more quickly,
- Rotten fruit and veg will also give the player this sickness. No more eating rotten veg without consequences. ;)
- Compatible with Namalsk Survival

Food Poisoning

- This mod now uses the vanilla version of food poisoning with only a couple small changes.
- Max agent count is 1000.
- The greater the agent count in the player, the more intense the symptoms become.
- Server owners can now configure settings of the disease within a json file:

- Example json files can be found in the mod folder, with vanilla and hardcore examples.
- Default setup is vanilla.
- The player will also experience fever symptoms while sick. [Screen blurring, water loss]

Server Owners
- Class names are included in a txt file within the mod folder.
- The JSON file will be created within your profiles/config folder once the mod has been loaded, and server is started.
- Types template for Chernarus has been added to the mod folder.

I personally use this along side the ‘Search for loot improved’ mod. And have no problems with that one. In case you want to try that instead. :steamthumbsup:

The thing is though, normal cans of food can spoil if opened too but I never encounter the problem with them. I'll keep looking into it

Yes that will be the problem. Sounds like you would only need to spawn the safe versions in garbage, and allow the settings of that mod to add disease. Or disable disease from garbage and use both safe and unsafe. Whatever you prefer really.

It's happening with all cans, but I don't have any other food-related mods installed. I'll test again after a wipe in the future, as I recently removed CookZ and that mod was fucking up a lot of things - may be related.

My only other guess is that maybe the 'FoodStageChance' of dumpster dive, that often causes looted meat to be rotten, is somehow also making the opened cans of food start spoiled?

Only unknown food may do that. If it is happening with other cans, you likely have conflict with another mod. If so, join discord for support.

I find that the regular opened cans, not unsafe versions, still make me ill. Is this intentional?

The new version will likely be more adjustable. With the addition of a json where you can adjust certain values. Made a start to it already, just takes a bit of time testing.
