Smarter Ai
749 Comments
private sector is dumb because it builds so much ports and plantations even though no pops
Borealis1212 20 Aug @ 5:10am
please fix the autonomous building queue that always builds railway and port
DTalha 26 Jul @ 3:00pm
In addition to Smile's comment, the AI deliberately deletes its navy.
Smile 26 Jul @ 4:36am
theyre smarter economy wise but most nations now have next to no armies bro
DTalha 25 Jul @ 3:04pm
I have some issues, Private Sector doesn't privatize the highly profitable buildings even I pass the law Laissez-Faire. Private sectors always build ports. I get it, my ports are profitable yeah but I don't need a level 207 port in Alentejo and I don't need 25k surplus convoys with only second production method. Also the private sectors doesn't invest in anything except Company Headquarters' and they only build their own buildings. Additionally, AI bankrupts more frequently than vanilla AI and bc of that some countries just get stuck at bankruptcy cycle. I would love the see them get fix.
黛玉sop 23 Jul @ 8:30am
They will form a group at the beginning and lose relations, and then they will make enemies of each other, and all the great powers are enemies of each other, and then fight and lose GDP
黛玉sop 23 Jul @ 8:29am
I tried the game many times, Britain would reduce its navy to 100 ships in 1837, a full 85 ships, in 1840 it would be reduced to 35 ships, falling to the third power, and France would also reduce its navy to 0 ships a year, the Ottomans would also reduce their navy to 0, and Prussia and Austria would reduce their navy to 0
黛玉sop 23 Jul @ 8:13am
AI has been cutting ships, in 1940 Britain only had 35 ships left, France only 30 ships left, and the United States had 0 ships, why did they reduce ships? And in 1838, why could Russia land in London, England, and how did Russia beat Britain's 185 ships?
TheGamingNot  [author] 22 Jul @ 2:44pm
anyway you can thank jieyi4012 for bringing up the trade center problem in the dc. i uploaded the fix just now
TheGamingNot  [author] 22 Jul @ 2:43pm
unless im actively working on the mod i dont bother checking comments on steam. if yall want a actual bug like the trade center being subsidized fixed join the dc and ill actually see it.

also the update that was supposed to drop shortly after 1.9 isnt gonna drop anytime soon. i quit dealing with it, constantly worked around 1 hardlocked mechanic and instantly another fucks me.

Currently i need to disable all ai money spending replacing it with my custom logic that actually works, but disabling ai money spending means ai wont manage armies.

and i dont have a fix, i can make them build armies but they wont actually create the formations so theres no point.
星月传说 22 Jul @ 1:36am
Moreover, AI Germany will continue to build railways, and AI Great Qing will borrow money to build buildings until bankruptcy (unrecognized regime+50% interest)
星月传说 22 Jul @ 12:59am
It is suggested to remove the AI default subsidies for power plants, trade centers, iron mines, coal mines, and steel mills, otherwise AI will often go bankrupt continuously
ESI 21 Jul @ 6:01am
This mod makes it so, that in the production lens, there are no buildings in the development tab
Bautos42 21 Jul @ 2:29am
I managed to find what makes the Ai subsidize trade centers. It's in Ai strategies. I deleted the part forcing the Ai to subsidize trade centers, and the problem was mostly fixed, with global GDP by 1880 more than twice as high as before. Prussia still got into a debt spiral through subsidies, so there might be other parts like subsidizing railways that need to be removed as well, but otherwise, the AI build fairly strong economies.Still, it might be best to just use Kuromi's Ai right now, which had a similar economic performance as the supposed peak performance of smarter Ai in my test, but seems to have less bugs.
Oathbreaker55 20 Jul @ 6:11pm
I was playing as austria with a friend and spain attacked modena which was my puppet but they capitulated as soon as the war started, i had the same problem with papal states they capitulated as soon as i joined their war against the ottoman empire to protect them. I hope you guys can fix this because it is too annoying
Osium 20 Jul @ 3:39pm
It's the defines I think, and the buildings folder, which looks like it defines how the AI wants to setup its buildings regarding auto expansion and subsidization.
Bautos42 20 Jul @ 1:59pm
Between the ultra aggressive AI and the constant bankruptcies, It does lead to some funny results, though. I had a Soviet Union lead by a Romanov, Brazilian East Indies and a Prussian atheist military technocracy. It seems that the Ai makes gigantic losses from subsidizing trade centers. I tried fixing it on my own, but I have no idea what causes this behavior. Probably something in defines, but there's a lot of changes in there.
Osium 20 Jul @ 7:34am
Yep. It was good at first, but now it's absolutely fucked after 20 years. North German Federation is -1m MILLION per week mostly off of 800k in subsidies. LOL.

Might poke around and just remove the economy stuff from it, because I like the other stuff.
Bautos42 20 Jul @ 6:02am
Sadly, this mod is currently completely broken. Every single Ai great power is going bankrupt repeatedly and in the long run thus performs significantly worse than the vanilla Ai. I hope this get's fixed soon, since the aggressive foreign policy is of this Ai is really fun.
Osium 18 Jul @ 6:45pm
Ok, quick thing.

I like the idea that the mod aims to have the AI play like a player, however, I noticed some issues almost immediately.

Mexico attacked Guatemala in like 1836, which led to the USA entering the war with a protectorate war goal on Mexico, which seems like a bad idea for the US because it is basically locking itself into decades of diplomacy with mexico rather than just getting its cores IMMEDIATELY.

I almost feel like, this early game violence is so chaotic, it might be best to turn smarter ai AFTER about a decade?
Just The Lord 13 Jul @ 1:28am
After some testing it appears that this mod incentivizes the AI to subsidize too many buildings like iron mines, steel and the worst offender trade centers, causing mass bankruptcy. In nations who cannot trade due to isolationism like Qing the mod makes the AI perform wonders, with as much as 10 times the construction points after 10 years compared to vanilla or Kuromi's AI mod.
belko 12 Jul @ 6:14am
How to have an notification when this mod will get updated ?
Eygon 1 Jul @ 10:30pm
There's something in ai_strategies that won't allow AI to make treaties at all besides the forced ones. As soon as i removed the whole folder my AI went from making 0 treaties to going full crazy with it. Might be something pre 1.9 that isn't updated.
TheGamingNot  [author] 28 Jun @ 10:05pm
@小糖人愛音 i dont use that mod so idk

@星月传说 they disarm early game and build up midgame, britian not fucking qing will be fixed next update

@Sam i havent touched anything related to that

@Ghost_Warrior will be fixed

@Ἀλληκτώ assuming its the same issue as 1.8, big gdp = bad performance

@PizzTurK idk

@*Pebble* cuz i want them to
uug gunga 28 Jun @ 12:23pm
Why do so many small nations make power blocs?? Sovereign Empire kind of sucks now for gaining lands as you're basically only able to invite very minor nations like Oldenburg, yet nations like Belgium, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Hanover and Sweden and such make their own power blocs, and NEVER invite anybody to them so those power blocs just rot. Very annoying as I really like this mod otherwise, it just makes Power blocs pretty boring to use.
PizzTurK 27 Jun @ 9:23am
And most importantly, how long do I have to wait before all the lag is gone?
Also, can I use this mod with shattered mods as well?
Ἀλληκτώ 26 Jun @ 3:54pm
Somehow the performance decreases so much it's unplayable even in early game
Ghost_Warrior 26 Jun @ 9:37am
The AI seems to mobilize all troops during war but often keeps many of its units, more like the majority, stationed in the HQ just waiting even when they would really be of use. And in the case of small wars that are one sided it would make sense not to mobilize everything when they can clearly win with far less.

They also seem to add unreasonable wargoals like targeting overseas states without a proper navy and don't seem to have properly sized armies according to navies to support an invasion.

Is this behavior something the mod has already influenced or you intend to look into?
Sam 26 Jun @ 5:08am
ais are perma breaking treaties and getting insane infamy from it
星月传说 25 Jun @ 8:52pm
After using this mod, the British Empire will not fight the Opium War, and AI will always disarm.
瓶澤唯152 23 Jun @ 9:19pm
搭配这个模组使用会更好吗?
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3345217364
还是说只使用你的模组就已经是最强了?
TheGamingNot  [author] 22 Jun @ 8:48am
@甄宝玉 is your mod correctly updated? they all show for me
Nika 20 Jun @ 8:37pm
Hope the mod gets updated
甄宝玉 20 Jun @ 3:53pm
这个MOD目前会导致一个bug,不能正确显示大学、发电厂、铁路、贸易中心等建筑
Dudemaster 18 Jun @ 7:09am
thx man. Looking forward to the update
TheGamingNot  [author] 18 Jun @ 6:09am
@Geass yeah no shit its still stupid the update was a simple barely tested maintenance patch
Loading... 18 Jun @ 3:15am
thank you :3
Geass 18 Jun @ 12:00am
ai is still stupid. And the tendency to build ports should be increased
TheGamingNot  [author] 17 Jun @ 6:18pm
千名者 17 Jun @ 6:13pm
terrific speed of update, thanks!
TheGamingNot  [author] 17 Jun @ 2:40pm
alright the mods updated. the update was NOT the overhaul thats been "almost" ready for half a year.

the update was a simple barely tested maintenance patch

separate autobuilder mod coming out later now that the trade mods and this one is updated
TheGamingNot  [author] 17 Jun @ 1:33pm
its bouta be. not overhauling it but im just updating this version to the latest
Loading... 17 Jun @ 12:41pm
is this updated to the newest patch?
TheGamingNot  [author] 16 Jun @ 8:36am
since the main ai still isnt better then this one ill be releasing a basic auto builder tmr as a separate mod.

the autobuilder will be able to manage government and private queues, focusing on construction goods first then moving onto whatever is profitable. and its not just a reskinned autoexpand as it can build new buildings even if theres no supply or demand (like late game tech that adds new goods).
TheGamingNot  [author] 2 Jun @ 11:36am
@ICEMANfrom111 its a ai scoring issue which i cant fix unless i want to overwrite the files even more which i wont do (i think the original problem was they made to much hardwood, one of ur mods might of flipped it). consumer goods are useless in this game compared to just feeding the construction sectors so they dont ever really build them.

@JellyOkarin will be fixed in next update
ICEMANfrom111 1 Jun @ 12:08pm
Not sure if it’s a conflict with other mods I use or it’s just ai behavioral issue, none of the AIs produce hardwood, which never happens in Kuromi or vanilla. Also ai has very good gdp but with scary high demand for consumer goods. Also Every 5 years Russia bangs her 600 Brigade-head against Germany wall trying to enslave Scandinavia so not exactly a peaceful experience. Gotta say love the fast growing but these little things are bit of a pain.
JellyOkarin 10 May @ 2:25pm
I basically have never seen UK taking treaty ports from Qing, so I think they just never invade for some reason. Can you fix that in the new diplo mod
TheGamingNot  [author] 9 May @ 10:52pm
qing prolly backs down or uk doesnt invade. could be both
JellyOkarin 9 May @ 10:29pm
AI gdp is great, but why does the opium war never kick off
TheGamingNot  [author] 6 May @ 10:51am
1836-1840 results in 15% gain now after a few more tweaks. also heres the mod https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3477037533
