[D] Thermodynamics - Hot Meals (Continued)

@Shampooh Where did you store them to get that temperature?
Shampooh 19 hours ago
Uhhh my meals frozen inside Warehouse Storage fridges are defying physics and going several times below absolute zero [files.catbox.moe], resulting in it taking pawns like an hour to microwave them to edibility. Aside from a probable patch for the fridges, maybe a minimum/maximum possible temperature should also be added?
Maux 2 Nov @ 6:51am
Confirmed working properly again. Thank you for your swift fix!
Darknote 2 Nov @ 6:50am
Yep, it's fixed now! Thank you, @Mlie!! I had to resubscribe to the mod. But this fixed some food (bread from Medieval Overhaul, meat, etc) from perishing inside a cold room.
Mlie  [author] 2 Nov @ 6:18am
Should work better now, hopefully
Maux 2 Nov @ 12:24am
I am experiencing the same problem with robopitek. My modlist includes both Rimfridge and AdaptiveStorageFramework. Food temperature will ignore the room temp regardless of if they are stored in a room or ASF storage(not ASF fridge). This started happening after the 1.6.2 update.
robopitek 1 Nov @ 3:40pm
The thing is, it wasn't like that before, in fact it looks like food ignores temperature of the room at all.
Yup, even after moving the mod in load order and removing the mods except the ones we talked about + Hugslib and DLCs the problem persists.
Mlie  [author] 1 Nov @ 2:40pm
@robopitek If they have defined their building as a heater, it will heat the meals. My mod just asks the framework what the temperature the meal has
robopitek 1 Nov @ 2:32pm
Hey, it looks like paste on Nutrient Paste Feeder from Vanilla Paste Expanded now works as food heater https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2920385763 - my paste is at max temperature despite being in a freezer.
robopitek 1 Nov @ 1:46pm
Thank you very much :D
Mlie  [author] 1 Nov @ 1:07pm
@robopitek Should work better with all mods using the Adaptive Storage Framework now
robopitek 30 Oct @ 6:17pm
Hey, looks like there's no compatibility with [sbz] Fridge https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3486264784
#6 2 Sep @ 9:54am
@Mlie The mod that I'm using for categories is here if you want to take a look.
#6 2 Sep @ 7:22am
@Mlie Just tested and it does overwrite the categories. I looked into the xml and noticed that it creates its own categories in the xml but there is no patch to move the items to the categories so it must be doing that in code instead.
#6 2 Sep @ 7:05am
@Mlie I'll try and let you know
Mlie  [author] 31 Aug @ 9:52pm
@#6 As long as that mod is loaded after this one it should overrule it
#6 31 Aug @ 5:58pm
@Mlie: Would it be possible to get a toggle for the item category changes? I already use a mod that arranges items into clean categories and like it a lot more than what this mod does. If not no biggie, appreciate all the work you do for the community dude.
bugsbony 4 Aug @ 5:32pm
@Scentyz thanks for your comment, I was wondering why they suddenly stopped warming their food.
@Mlie: maybe add a note of this conflict with the Common Sense option "Pawns encouraged to clean before eating"

@Ghost of Draupnir Please see the Reporting Issues section described above
Can I be cheeky and ask for a compat patch between this and Campfire Stews? Something seems to break this mod's functionality.
Mlie  [author] 17 Jul @ 9:42pm
@I blame Earthshaker If you do not want to follow the error reporting steps then your issue will remain
I blame Earthshaker 17 Jul @ 2:48pm
Prolly this mod and not RimFridge, but definitely a bug related to serving pawns in bed where sometimes the delivering pawns heat nothing up, then fetches the meal from the freezer THEN delivers it. Haven't been able to tell yet if this still heats the meal up, but the delivery pawn is clearly going to the stove to magically heat nothing first... and no, I don't use Discord.
babyblue 12 Jul @ 5:37am
I love this mod. There is only one problem. VGP coffee is sometimes classified as hot drink and sometimes as cold drink. I have to check it every time I load the data or my colonists get upset because they got hot cold drink.
De Uz 24 Jun @ 3:20am
is the mood buff adjustible?

Seems like Common Sense still has some issuies with Thermodynamics, so if you have both of this mods disable "Pawns encouraged to clean before eating"

THANK YOU!!! NOW MY PAWN USES THE MICROWAVE!!!
lol 19 Jun @ 1:27am
After playing for some time — it's good, but the convoluted new categories system made the foods section too bulky
hlo120435 13 Jun @ 9:48am
i was fantasizing about this exact same mod and im so happy its actually a thing
lol 26 May @ 11:59am
Suggestion: eating hot/cold food could help pawns recover from hypothermia/hyperthermia

noticed that the items are still in the game but cant prioritize pawns to build them with a right click action. new run so needed to build some.

where I usually have 2 of the heat lamps, one for food and one as an egg incubator. When used as an egg incubator the selected eggs were showing an error message in their description so you could not track progress. Also noting so it is mentioned again the only times pawns will heat anything up is when they are serving food, otherwise all items in this mod are ignored by pawns.

i dont understand why pawns prefer to get the freezed meals over the Heatlamp meals
Mlie  [author] 26 Aug, 2024 @ 12:59pm
@Jax Should be fixed now
Maux 23 Aug, 2024 @ 11:31pm
I think I found where the bug lies: Vanilla Vehicle Expanded defines CompRefrigerator, and Thermodynamics access Rimfridge by calling AccessTools.TypeByName("CompRefrigerator"). If VVE is loaded before rimfridge, then Thermodynamics will incorrectly call upon VVE fridge. You need to load rimfridge first. Loading rimfridge before VVE solved the issue.
Maux 21 Aug, 2024 @ 5:44am
Can confirm conflict with Vanilla Vehicles Expanded with Rimfridge. The heater works just fine and VVE has CompRefrigerator.cs in their so I suspect something has to do with them changing how fridge in general works?
Dametri 7 Jul, 2024 @ 1:33am
This mod has gone cold
Jax 19 Jun, 2024 @ 2:23am
@Mlie the temperature conflict appears to be from Vanilla Vehicles Expanded
Jax 17 Jun, 2024 @ 10:31pm
@Ultimate Oddball @gazza_m_bolton I'm having the same issue. Items in RimFridge are showing as "frozen" but are also storing a temp based on the environment. Owl's Simple Fridge seems to be working correctly, so I'm using that for cold things until I figure out where the conflict is coming from.
Mlie  [author] 1 Jun, 2024 @ 2:39am
@gazza_m_bolton Anything that modifies temperature calculations. Like performance mods for example. Easiest is just to remove mods until it doesnt happen using the binary method. (Removing half each time)
gazza_m_bolton 1 Jun, 2024 @ 1:48am
@Mlie in regards to the mod-conflict error you mentioned with @Ultimate Oddball I know it is a long shot but would you know what sort of mod could cause the conflict. I'm having the same issue but not able to find what's causing it.
LZIM 28 May, 2024 @ 6:27pm
"and maybe keep them in a heat lamp storage for now." basically a requirement for this mod but it doesnt address the core issue that pawns dont use any nearby available heating source when pulling food from their inventory. Maybe when CE is back we can force pawns to not carry any forms of edible anything in their inventory.

also another dumb question not related to this mod directly but butchered corpses result in instant room temp meat.. instead of frozen meat ?
Mlie  [author] 19 May, 2024 @ 11:07am
@Ultimate Oddball
Tested with rimfridge and the temperature follows the fridge and not the room. You may have a mod-conflict
Ultimate Oddball 19 May, 2024 @ 2:05am
Great mod, thanks for making it. I think there's a conflict with "[1.5; 1.4] RimFridge: Now with Shelves!" . Foods are not getting temperature from the fridge they're in, it's taking temp from the environment around the fridge instead.
generalpuppydeer 15 May, 2024 @ 8:44am

Xavier 30 Apr, 2024 @ 7:34am
I have the same issue. My colonists with heat up the food for prisoners but not for themselves. I have to draft them, move them away from their dropped meal, and then undraft them and right click their meal to "heat up". I love the immersion of this mod but going to have to disable the negative effects for cold meals... and maybe keep them in a heat lamp storage for now.
Mlie  [author] 17 Apr, 2024 @ 12:11am
@lol Not really, the mod uses those to keep track of what foods need what temperature.
LZIM 6 Apr, 2024 @ 4:03pm
same, almost no matter what pawns will just complain about cold meals without heating anything up. they also will ignore food in storage and eat basically anything. Trying food restrictions to hot meals only to see what that does.
Nirahiel 5 Apr, 2024 @ 12:00pm
Well that still wasn't it. Even with pick up and haul and While you'r up/PUAH+ it's still not working.
Also weird part is that for prisoners my pawn will sometimes heat up a meal BEFORE picking it up from its storage .. weiiiiiird. I don't even know if a log with HugsLib would show anything.
Nirahiel 5 Apr, 2024 @ 11:07am
That wasn't it. Perhaps "pick up and haul" ? I'll try with it disabled, just as a test...
Nirahiel 5 Apr, 2024 @ 11:04am
@netist I have the issue too.. Is it perhaps because the heating device isn't in the same room as the room they're gonna eat in ? I'll try putting a stove (or a microwave, once they finish the stupid research) to see if that helps.
