Will this still reduce vanilla graphics even if you have mods that add new kinds of stars? Trying to find anything that helps at this point. My game is forces genocide to reduce lag by year 2250. I'll never reach ACOT endgame at this point. =[

@dreamalot062 pretty sure pradox is aware of that they would need to rewrite it, but rewriting takes years. So stop complaining about it, it wont change anything.

I GUARANTEE no one at Paradox knows how to optimize the game. They're probably just writing code on top of code hoping it will do something to fix the game. And when something goes wrong with what they've done they write more code on top of that to fix the last problem. That's why the game runs worse than it use to when it first came out. It needs to be gutted and re done from the ground up.

@Rogueone "You want this mod closer to the top in the modlist. That would allow other mods to override changes to game resources introduced by this mod, which is probably what you want in most cases."

The description does say it doesn't change the checksum, so it should be possible for them to use it without you using it.

@tardis_42: I just published a new version that should address the issue with situation log trackers, as well as make this mod compatible with achievements by avoiding modifying dust rotation parameters which cause game checksum to be modified.

@T145, @Malikto, @Jeese&Bortor: I made description much more clear about the purpose of this mod, which is specifically to improve FPS during the game pause without introducing changes to the actual game mechanics (as I have little ideas how to make a meaningful impact there given tools we have).

My play style mostly revolves around doing things on pause and then resuming the game until I need to introduce further changes. So while I see that late-game lag when days change, I do not find these as offensive as having low FPS when entering systems in a nebula regardless of the galaxy size.

If you are CPU-bound, which is fairly uncommon nowadays anyway, you should really consider having smaller galaxy and/or tuning pop reproduction parameters. These are in the base game, you should try compressing the growth function by lowering logistic growth ceiling and raising growth requirement scaling parameters in the new game screen.

just reading the description of this i notice people commenting asking if this is going to help you with a decent pc sadly no this seems to just be a graphics reskin type of mod your cpu is going to be bottlenecking you if you're oin a decent gaming pc to go a tiny bit deeper a better cpu will allow the game to run better single core performance is crucial to running this game in lategame

@Mailkto: Yes, though it shouldn't be as necessary. Most lag is from the CPU due to handling pops as far as I'm aware.

Really helpful mod, but unfortunately seems to block situation log trackers from showing up on the galaxy map. Any chance you can fix that?
