[Deprecated] Stellar Performance

Description
This mod is deprecated. Don't try to play Stellaris on iGPU, its bad for your mental health.

---

Collection of opinionated performance tweaks for playing on integrated GPUs and low-end systems.
Replaces many textures, removes particles, makes nebulas and the galaxy core darker.
This mod is achievement-compatible. It does not change the game checksum, only game assets are modified.

You can enable this mod at any moment and it should have absolutely no impact on the game process. This mod makes no changes to the actual game logic like pop mechanics or any other potentially CPU-intensive parts. There are various efforts by other people to fix those, but there are lacking efforts to actually improve FPS for users with no dedicated GPU of any sort. The game is working generally fine on Intel HD graphics but when entering a nebula or facing the galactic core it does drop quite a bit.

As a matter of fact, I can understand why the game is so CPU-intensive and why fix for that is in demand, but I don't think we can talk about one unless Paradox fully rewrites their pop simulation logic. The "modding" platform Stellaris provides is more like a bunch of turing-incomplete config files with magic variables, than an actual plug-in system with some toy programming language like Lua - and it vastly limits game's potential. For now, the truth is, Stellaris must die for that to happen.

You want this mod closer to the top in the modlist. That would allow other mods to override changes to game resources introduced by this mod, which is probably what you want in most cases.

Update?

Will this still reduce vanilla graphics even if you have mods that add new kinds of stars? Trying to find anything that helps at this point. My game is forces genocide to reduce lag by year 2250. I'll never reach ACOT endgame at this point. =[

any chance this stops the massive lag spikes from ethics shifts in ai empires?

hello, was wondering if this mod fix the lag issue from sur-population ? (those who make day longer)

@dreamalot062 pretty sure pradox is aware of that they would need to rewrite it, but rewriting takes years. So stop complaining about it, it wont change anything.

I GUARANTEE no one at Paradox knows how to optimize the game. They're probably just writing code on top of code hoping it will do something to fix the game. And when something goes wrong with what they've done they write more code on top of that to fix the last problem. That's why the game runs worse than it use to when it first came out. It needs to be gutted and re done from the ground up.

Do i put this at the bottom of the mod list?

@GuyDing
The description does say it doesn't change the checksum, so it should be possible for them to use it without you using it.

I have a real high end system but my buddy has a budget rig. Can he use this mod when we play multiplayer without me also having to use it?
