Would it be possible to add coloring to the building itself? So instead of having white floors, we can color the floor lamp itself.

I wrote Land On Anything, and it all started because shuttles could not land on decals. The vanilla shuttle code only allowed them to land on empty tiles and power lines, which was obviously not great when combined with the many modded items they should be able to land on (underground pipes, decals, floor lights, etc) especially as you can build the shuttle on top of those things. My fix was to use the same placeworker code that is used to build the shuttle to decide if a cell is OK to land on.

So if you want to land your shuttle on lights grab Land on Anything, and you can turn off all the features other than the shuttle landing patch if you don't want them.

Just an FYI for anyone who wanted to use this mod to make custom landing pads for shuttles,
the mod Land On Anything works a treat with this mod.

The floor lights are not "ground tiles", except that one square floor lamp tile. I'm not 100% sure but I would assume the shuttle cannot land on "furniture", which is what the floor lamps are.

Maybe someone has made a mod that allows for the shuttles to land on "furniture" objects.

Really fun mod, I loved making a designs with the lights however for some reason the new shuttles from Odessey will not land on top of a tile with the lights on.

Is this something I have done wrong or just a game limitation for now?

The ends of the [path] plus texture (north, east, south, west) have no border. That is the only difference. It is very small and hard to see.

Hello, dear author, I have a question that I don't understand and I need to ask you.

This is about the differences between floor light (plus) and FL Path (plus).

Because there is no Chinese translation for FL Path (plus) and its description, I used a translator to translate these descriptions, but the answers provided by the translator were very confusing.

Or, are they merely small differences in the texture, with no other differences in any other aspects?

[Path] Plus (with a slight texture difference compared to the normal shape), this is an introduction to the mod. My opinion was derived from this.

Updated for 1.6! Also by some stroke of momentary genius I kept the mod in working order for 1.5 and 1.4 versions. :2016popsicle:

@Sanakara When I initially made the FloorLights mod it indeed had invisible wires. If I remember correctly, my method of hiding the wires was to use an empty texture for the wire, but at some point that didn't work anymore.

Ah sorry, did not see, that the author directed already to a solution with another mod. Anyway... that is the first time with floor lamps that I see the wires, was it different with the original mod?

I have right now visible wires with the floor lamps. As far as I can remember, they did not had wires usually, at least visible. That is not supposed to be, right? Anybody any suggestion to change that as it should be? unfortunately there are no mod options for FL2.

@larry.rathbun As far as I understand it, the ones with "Path" in the name can be arranged in a kind of line — of medium width, centered — that forms a path. Sort of like something meant to indicate the way. This was mentioned in the comments a few pages down. :HKIndustry:

I figured it out, Designator Shapes has bindings to rotate the shapes using the same keys, I changed the bindings in that and now I can rotate the lights again.

By single element I mean no empty space, the light is contiguous, any of them that are separated, like the two strips, or the small squares in two, or three corners rotate fine, but none of the single section ones do, I have no clue why, it must be some kind of conflict with my mod list.

@LumberingTroll I'm not sure what you mean by "single element", but yes you should be able to rotate all the shapes. Do note that since the game rotates things 90 degrees at a time it looks like some of the shapes do not rotate. I did do a quick test and saw no issues when I tried rotating each shape.

Should I be able to rotate the light shapes? I seem to only be able to rotate some of them and not others, in particular anything that is a single element can't be rotated, but anything that is more than one, can.

It looks like the power usage of these is not affected by the advanced lighting tech, which is supposed to halve them.

thanks for checking! I sorted out my mods and found out that I had to disable rotate keys for Designator Shapes so that the Floor Lamps would rotate

Alrighty, it is now possible to drag build the lamps! I also added 5 new shapes for making a consistent path. I hope that reduces the risk of getting lost. :)

Sorry but I'm not sure what mod you're talking about. The "Square Floor Lamp" is in the "Floors" tab because it is an actualy floor instead of a furniture.

I have a mod, didn't remember which mod. That patch all light source into "Lights" tab, except for Floor Light(small inverse corner) have it own tab "Lamps". And Square Floor Lamp is still in the "Floor" tab.

Could you patch it, pls.

@Spectre Unfortunately that is how the color picker works in the game (I think); It just changes the light color but doesn't modify the object texture.
