YOU DID MAGIC IS IMPOSSIBLE I GOT 12 FPS AND NOW 40???? :missing:
Xetaxheb  [autor] 7 AGO a las 2:48
so "particle" isn't a thing
PROJECTILES are things like the magic missile/flamelash/bullets
DUST is just graphical fluff
maybe hit effects are the green stars? I can't do much about that but it shouldn't lag that much?
projectiles are what actually calculate hitboxes and have their own AI and running code
I didn't whitelist anything the terra blade should be using, but you could try clearing the whitelist entries
removing projectiles/hit effects is out of scope for this but i'll consider something when I have time

hiiii! i need help! i lag a lot with the TERRA BLADE. i noticed that what generates lag are the "green stars" that generate on an enemy when hit. please fix this there are no mods that dooo :(((((. i tried to see what projectile it was on debug mode, but it doesnt show. i got the terrablade particle and rgbfirework particle but the star itself didnt show up in the chat. pleaseee fix this thank you!
Xetaxheb  [autor] 29 JUL a las 22:32
If there are any VANILLA weapons that still give zero indicator for their projectile please leave a comment with the exact item name (and ideally its projectile id from DEBUG but I can find it) to be added to the default whitelist some time.

Updated to stable and added warning
Also implemented dust-whitelisting with some basic defaults like gem staffs, pixies, magic weapons in general (can all be deleted)
JuJu 29 JUL a las 2:56
Yeah sorry, misremembered the mod the enemy came. I managed to capture a video of it for you though! https://imgur.com/a/QOpbfLu
Three enemies had a glow issue, Tainted Slimes from Expanded Terraria, Astral Slimes from Calamity and Pixies from base games.
I'm not sure why it does this either, I think a warning that some glowing enemies may cause flashing effects with dust removal is a decent enough warning.
Xetaxheb  [autor] 28 JUL a las 19:48
Thanks for letting me know, i'll push a warning when i have a few.
Could you elaborate what a useful warning would look like to you?

I don't really have time to do much testing to hunt that down, can you also explicitly name an example mob (I'm not finding anything about "tainted slimes".. blight slimes/slime god boss or its minions?) and are you sure removing the dust causes this?

All this mod does is randomly delete the dust past certain thresholds so I'm not sure what could cause a strobing unless that's just baseline for the enemy and its impact is lessened being clouded by dust, which is fair enough to add a warning.
JuJu 28 JUL a las 1:50
Not sure if this is known or not, but remove dust caused some nasty almost strobe like effects for enemies whose glow increases then decreases. Especially enemies in mods like Calamity (those tainted slimes almost made me physically sick). I'm sure it makes sense code wise but I wish there was a disclaimer of some kind in the config for it :DSTsmallbird:

Xetaxheb  [autor] 6 MAY a las 15:27
@Nobodyewe didn't see the comment about multi not working-- i'm not sure, maybe something changed? I'm pretty sure people were using it in MP before, are you sure you can't join one with JUST this mod enabled?

But try this version out? https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2984135617 It should be client-only flagged and load fine.

Nobodyewe 14 MAR a las 17:27
work fine in singleplayer, but dont work in multiplayer, cant even open the server or join one with the mod enabled
Xetaxheb  [autor] 3 MAR a las 19:22
won't be implemented, don't want to add the overhead of checking them for performance reasons
also doesn't make sense in multiplayer without adding even more overhead or risking desync
but with that said, there's basically no situation where a projectile will be close enough to you for that to matter and also be despawned; the default despawn range is -pretty big-
FeverDreamer0 3 MAR a las 7:59
Pretty good tbh.

would like a feature where projectiles moving towards you aren't deleted but projectiles moving away from you (and too far away) are removed though.
Xetaxheb  [autor] 6 ENE a las 15:06
Ah, I see. Unfortunately the mod is working as intended, but if I have time at some point I could perhaps implement a dust whitelist for these situations.
In the meantime, you can set "Dust Mode" from "Hide All" to "Show All" (or "Hide in Boss fights") and turn ON "Reduce dust by chance".
Any setting for "1 in x" 3 or above or so should still show enough to track the projectile, but the default is 7 anyway and should look basically normal.
(Lower = better performance, higher = less dust removal aka better graphics)
As you said, the actual projectile (which apparently doesn't have its own sprite these days, just dust) still functions albeit invisible, so no actual gameplay impact here besides harder to see what you're doing.

If you come across any other (besides gem staffs) weapon/projectile that has a similar completely invisible projectile or animation with "1 in x" set to 7 (and dust:show_all and reduce_by_chance:on), please definitely let me know.
LKOL 6 ENE a las 2:54
For example, an amethyst staff and other objects made of precious stones. In fact, they work and even cause damage to enemies, but the projectiles fired by the staffs have become invisible, this also applies to some staffs from hard mode and books.
Xetaxheb  [autor] 5 ENE a las 22:25
shells? i'm not sure what you mean
can you list a specific item name (or mob/etc, and if what mod it comes from), in english?
LKOL 5 ENE a las 22:16
The magic staffs have lost their shells, how can I fix this?

Xetaxheb  [autor] 6 FEB 2024 a las 15:52
Does it not work with the latest version? Is tml just complaining about it being outdated or is there an error?
Natedogwoof 4 FEB 2024 a las 9:07
i know your probs busy with life at the moment but if you cant update is there a viable alternative somewhere? because nitrate wont add anti projectile lag.

If I remember right that was some chinese mod that did exactly as asked.

Shame it's gone now, but here seems to be another one: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3016470554
