If the automatons mod is activated at the same time as this mod their head gets removed for some reason.

Most of the male eyes are aligned the same as the female eyes, causing them to be drawn too deep into the head when facing east or west and making them look inbred.

For those asking about Red and Grey eye genes: install '[BT] EyeGenes2Lite' and load it after this mod to fix the issue.

Note that if you do this mid-save your baseline eyes will have random eye-colours; so you'll need to adjust them to black using the original NL Facial Animation afterward. On fresh saves all baseline eyes display correctly as black.

@RandomEdits Sounds like you have "Children, School And Learning " mod installed. If u have, disable it cause it WILL cause errors, sadly but it also conflicts with Biotech itself anyway.... so

I feel like it removes the point of the mod. The faces are simply too small to actually notice the faces unless you zoom really close

Alright, while not completely wrong, the main issue seems to be an incompatibility between this mod, and the experimental facial animation features. Simply disable that mod, and this one works fine.

After working through my modlist, it seems that this mod unfortunately results in an misalignment of eyes and mouths a good percentage of the time, which is especially visible when viewing a pawn from the side. They float in the air.

The following races/xenotypes from Vanilla Expanded series needs some working:
- Genie ("Elongated head" gene)
- Neanderthal ("Heavy Jaw" gene)
- Waster/Fungoid/Ekkimian ("Gaunt head" gene)
- Yttakin/Lycan ("Furskin" gene)
- Insector ("Insect skin" gene)
- All Phytokins ("Barkskin" gene)
- Saurid ("Scaleskin" gene)
- Bruxa ("Sanguine head" gene)

remove [NL] Facial Animation - Experimentals from active mods. It fixed most problems for me including the beard not aligning

Potential workaround for misaligned beards: Disable Facial Animation and this mod, use Character Editor to change your pawn's face shape to AverageNormal (male) or AverageNormal (female) for respective pawns. Re-enable Facial Animation and this mod, and the beard should be better aligned.

The misaligned beard seems to come from the fact that, underneath these facial animation mods, the pawn might actually have vanilla narrow face which is used to draw the beard, rather than the average-looking headshape from facial animation. With facial animation and this mod enabled, trying to change headshape through character editor doesn't actually change the BASE headshape, only what it appears to be drawn as.

I'm having a problem, and I can't tell if it's this, the [NL] Facial Animation mod, or either of those mods' incompatibility with Biotech and certain gene/xenotype mods. Some of the xenotypes which are supposed to have different facial features, like neanderthals' jaws and brows, or that one slug race's distinct heads, are instead showing "regular" human heads. I saw that [NL]FA had the option to disable the retextures for certain xenos, so I disabled it on the problem xenos, then for some reason the pawn creation menu was rendering the torsos on top of the heads.

experiencing issue where the re textured eyes aren't replacing the eyes but animating ontop of the default eye art. its not noticeable when the pawns face forward but when they turn left or right the eyes rest side by side on their head. Any idea how I can fix this? I have Facial + Facial Experimental + this mod

Both Faces of the Rim & Facial Stuff before it had an option to remove hats/helmets indoors, but this mod doesn't. I can't seem to find a 1.5 mod that removes hats indoors? Anyone know of one? Alternatively, maybe this could be a feature addition? Thanks

Hm seems ppl are having a problem with beards. I would expect the mod to just turn off mouth animations and leave the eye animations on if the pawn has facial hair but ig it doesn't? Either way, coming to the comment section and seeing everyone complain about a bug is a clear sign that I should just probably leave this mod alone until that gets ironed out.

So after the beard thing is known for over a month, I don't think they will fix it. Probably use their ressources on other mods right now.

@Ryan, okay I've spent like all night trying to figure out this same issue and I think I've found a temporary solution. You need to go into the "[NL] Facial Animation - WIP" mod folder and find your way to the HeadType.xml file;

filepath: steamapps\workshop\content\294100\1635901197\1.5\Defs\FaceTypeDefs\Human

then change any and all instances labeled <shader>Map/CutoutSkin</shader> to <shader>Map/Transparent</shader>

I actually just copied the whole file and pasted it to the relative folder in the "Vanilla Textures Expanded - [NL] Facial Animation" mod folder to let it overwrite the original with the load order, but you can probably just edit directly from the OG mod. I just wanted to keep the original file untouched in case of any issues, but so far everything seems fine

is there any way to remove the red hue on the skin? it becomes very noticeable on darker skin pawns and looks off when the skin doesnt match the gene body parts

I can't see anything in the debug logs for why this issue is happening, and no errors are being thrown, but as long as I have this mod loaded I have massive lag if more than 3 pawns are on screen.
I thought it might be a conflict with RedMattis's HD body mod, but there was no change when I removed that from the load order.
I turned off one setting of the facial animations at a time and even when all of them were off, there was still lag.
I may have missed something, but I am honestly unsure.
