Hi tam585. My preference would have been to put the gear in the front and I tried. Unfortunately there isn't enough space for the gear mechanism. That's why I had to put it in the mid section. Additionally I wanted to reverse the front gears but doing so in the mid moves them too far back. So I'm stuck with what I have. If you actually look at the front gear of an F16 they are mounted more to the mid. That's how I was able to finally justify the decision for myself. 😊
In regards to flight the craft is slightly nose heavy so on take off I start applying pitch up as soon as it starts to lift (around 35m/s) and in landing I apply pitch down as soon as it touchs down to prevent any bouncing.

i would have placed the front wheel IN THE FRONT, its not fun to take of, it took like 30 tries for 1 flight and the front wheel cant support a lot of weight, i would also rotate it
