Oh thank fuck! Why doesn't Rimworld just have a brightness slider?! I'm so sick of squinting when in caves!
VitaKaninen 26 Aug @ 2:20am
Could you put a line in the about.xml to have this loaded after Realistic Lighting and Shadows? It only works if it is loaded after that mod, and RimSort loads it before.
VitaKaninen 25 Aug @ 4:05pm
Ok, thanks. I will let them know.

I think this is a bug with Better Trees, which seems to not advance properly widget position in DoPlaySettingsGlobalControls. It might work fine if it's a single icon in a row.
VitaKaninen 25 Aug @ 9:00am
There is a bug when using this mod that causes the buttons from 2 other mods to overlap.
If you only load this mod, Cleaning Priority Continued, and Better Trees, the buttons will overlap as shown below.

Hello ! Can you update the Github to 1.0.8 plz ???
TurtleShroom 5 Aug @ 9:20am
THANK YOU!

I do want to ask, though: the "Anomaly" Mod adds a very special pitch-black darkness setting. Is it possible, when THAT (and ONLY that) is in effect, this Mod does not apply. My eyesight isn't geting any better, so I want it otherwise, but it ruins the fun of the Noctolith Event if I can see everything.
Kapitan Oczywisty  [author] 29 Jul @ 12:45pm
I'm no longer playing nor have any DLC, so I'm mainly testing with Rainy Thunderstorm at night :)
Draignean 27 Jul @ 11:41am
Ah, my thanks! Through the power of genetic modification I ended up with eldritch horrors capable of piercing the darkest night with their unspeakable gaze - they hated the light and even hated darklight.

Unfortunately I forgot that I did not also have turbo-horror vision, and embarked on a biome of perpetual night, with black ground, and then proceeded to tunnel into the black rock.

Thank you for saving me from eyestrain while looking at my adorable little horrors.

It's really painful to try to find or see something in the dark...Thanks for this mod! I don't have to turn my computer screen to the brightest in the dark just to see the game clearly!
VitaKaninen 18 Jul @ 9:50am
Can you put a line in the about.xml to have this loaded after Realistic Lighting and Shadows?

Thank god this mod exists. Exploring rimworld odyssey's vaults without mobile light sources in the base game is impossible.
shawyer 11 Jul @ 9:37pm
Thank you for the update!
Kapitan Oczywisty  [author] 8 Jul @ 11:40am
In case anybody needs old settings, they can be found in "%USERPROFILE%\Appdata\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\HugsLib\ModSettings.xml" at least on Windows.
sirduck 7 Jul @ 3:33pm
thank you okay :( F o7 i get it :T i love this mod thank you <3 <3
Kapitan Oczywisty  [author] 7 Jul @ 2:48pm
Update for 1.6 is up, unfortunately settings for this mod will be lost due to removing HugsLib dependency, sorry.
shawyer 17 Jun @ 12:42pm
Love this mod, hope you're able to update for 1.6!
孤单灬漫步 19 Feb @ 8:33pm
I simply love this mod!
sirduck 20 Jan @ 5:22am
i can ask kapitan oczywisty will use only Harmony? because the Hugslib is buggy and outdated :( and the Harmony work well and updated most modders uses and most modders stopped using Hugslib
KawwaK 6 Jan @ 12:58am
I love that you let us decide how dark is good enough, not like other mods that set a fixed value. Thanks.
Blue Angel 6 Dec, 2024 @ 3:22pm
thank you huge help to find this
Careful! 21 Sep, 2024 @ 3:47am
Just had to deal with sappers in the night with rain and volcanic winter. Looking for trees 2 inches from my screen is no fun. Thanks for this!
Fuzzycoco 7 Jun, 2024 @ 4:41pm
Great mod, I enjoy being able to see the game again (I decided to live under a sun blocker w/ permanent fog).
Also I can confirm that this mod works with all the DLCs.
Thanks!
Kapitan Oczywisty  [author] 2 Jun, 2024 @ 2:59pm
Works with 1.5, and should work with Anomaly. I don't have Anomaly DLC, but I've seen videos with this mod enabled on dlc.
sirduck 1 Jun, 2024 @ 5:39am
Does it work with Anomaly and 1.5?
Kapitan Oczywisty  [author] 30 Apr, 2024 @ 5:08am
I'm glad this mod is helping people. Even though I'm not playing RW myself anymore (only watching Francis' videos), you're giving me a reason to go back and occasionally update when new version releases. Thank you for a good words and kindness!
tes4444 25 Apr, 2024 @ 1:11pm
Thank you. Thank you so very much.

I don't know why some devs get the conception that torturing players = challenging and enjoyable gameplay. I have glaucoma (optic nerve damage reduces your ability to see over time with increased eye pressure) and when a volcanic eruption event hit my colony I literally could not play without getting a massive headache from straining to see the action on the dim screen. This restored my ability to enjoy playing,
Corvantus 14 Apr, 2024 @ 6:31am
The only mod that I ever use thank you for updating it.
RojoMuerte 13 Apr, 2024 @ 4:04pm
Thank you!
Kapitan Oczywisty  [author] 13 Apr, 2024 @ 10:45am
I've added setting for a default state
Kapitan Oczywisty  [author] 13 Apr, 2024 @ 10:24am
1.5 is up, also added remembering On/Off state (per save)
bruce1234574 12 Apr, 2024 @ 7:57pm
1.5 plz
jjh2001ed 12 Apr, 2024 @ 6:02am
dose it works in 1.5?
MICHAEL! 25 Feb, 2024 @ 9:26am
So glad I found this mod. Thank you!
MercuryRiver 18 Dec, 2023 @ 4:00pm
Could we get a config setting for off by default? I'd like to only use it when I need it
Selenic Sophie 4 Dec, 2023 @ 11:08am
Thank you! No longer am I blind as a bat while playing darkness-loving xenotypes!
Beerkiller 1 Jul, 2023 @ 8:30am
OMG thank you! I get that your pawns should be affected by darkness but I still want to see the screen.
HAZRAD 19 Apr, 2023 @ 11:52am
Nice nice!
Kapitan Oczywisty  [author] 24 Feb, 2023 @ 10:55am
That was the original intention, not sure why I didn't implement persistent state, though It would probably be remembered globally (save independent).
Cricket 20 Feb, 2023 @ 5:13am
Thanks for the wonderful mod. I was wondering if it would be much work to implement that the button remembers its state throughout saves. It would be a nice feature, because I still like to see the nights and darkness but I appreciate the button when I want to look at something in particular that I can't quite see... At this moment the button is always ON by default when loading the save, and usually I only notice it after a few days when no nights are 'happening'.
Pokethulhu 27 Jan, 2023 @ 12:20pm
I ❤️ this mod! Thank You!!!
thraes 11 Jan, 2023 @ 12:58am
Every time I redo my mod list I can't remember what this mod is called and end up searching like 5 different terms before I find it. Guess that's why a favorite button exists. My eyes bleed without this mod. I am not built to squint into the darkened pixels like some xenotypes
EvyTallWoman 4 Jan, 2023 @ 6:09pm
Thanks for this! I love the look of realistic darkness, but I always put a bright overlay up during combat so I can see.
Arky 2 Nov, 2022 @ 8:18am
Thank you so much for a mod like that. I can't see shit in the dark.
Tia 22 Oct, 2022 @ 4:33pm
I know it was a case of Hugs but I still wish to express my gratitude for the mod in general. Nothing like going back to vanilla darkness at night to remind a person how helpful this is.
Kapitan Oczywisty  [author] 22 Oct, 2022 @ 11:57am
Yes, I was waiting for Hugslib
NaN 22 Oct, 2022 @ 9:54am
Are you planning on updating this to 1.4? My laptop screen is so dim and I seriously can not play during in-game nights without this mod!
Codfish107 26 Sep, 2022 @ 12:36pm
Thanks for this. This will actually make the game playable on my laptop now.
Reit the Lobotomized Protogen 21 Feb, 2022 @ 7:19am
This is a fucking life saver, you've made the game more enjoyable for myself <3
