I'm afraid this version is currently not being maintained, the bugfixes below may work however I'm working on an Auto-Docking ver 2.0 as we speak. This new version will be so much better so keep an eye out ;)

Regardless of the fact that the script currently does NOT work as intended; due to the use of the possibilities given by Space Engineers with the remote control and its path finding: No.

The pathfinding does its job like a brainless computer. From A to B in a straight line, no matter what lies in between.

What about collision detection ? Drone goin back to the base will avoid hills, mountains, trees, builded objects etc ?

Hello and thanks for this very very useful script.Great work!

I use the script (The Bugfix Version) exactly as described in the guide, sometimes it happens that the docking doesn't work and the ship goes on line over the connector and only maneuvers back and forth and the process is not completed.

The strange thing is that it works quite normally with another ship. (On another connector with the Same Grid/Base)

I know it´s broken atm but a quick question:
Would it only work with connectors at the bottom of the ship or can they be at the top aswell ?

@Black.icE The current workaround that @ChaosCrow has implemented is to remove the "antenna-stuff" from the script. Usage of the optional script is based on the antenna to communicate between grids.
This weans a complete rewrite of the intergrid communication in the script. not a "quick fix".

One thing more to highlite:

This was so easy to workaround, just because SPUG used a consequent an clean nomenclature in his script, very professional!

I've done a quick and dirty workaround by commenting out (with //) all lines with antenna AND SendMessage methods... or just deleted them, when they are part of a && condition.

If you're not able to do these step for whatever reason, just CTRL+C; CTRL+V "my" script into your programmable block and recompile:
NOTE: If you do so, you have to set all of your connectors again! but its working.

I heavily recommend to run the programmable block with "reset" once.... AFTER recompiling with "my" text and BEFORE setting your connector points

PS: Of course its not my script, its the great work of SPUG and i just covered some of its resent wounds with dirt. No effort at all.

Any word on this getting updated? getting a bunch of errors, and there doesn't seem to be any decent similar docking scripts.

@ariecos : Those are warnings not errors. Code will still compile with warnings. Those WILL be errors in a future update though.

Can someoen make a new script that U don't need to have it set up on the 'base' ship and it will auto dock?
