Incredibly clever final move. I want to say I’ve seen something based on a similar concept but probably only once, twice at the very most. I was going around in circles thinking I’d have to do something much more complicated. Until the very end it never hit me that the instant the cube is respawned, the laser is no longer redirected - it only makes sense from a game-engine perspective for it to work that way, but for some reason I was under the impression that it would continue to redirect it until it disappeared completely and I wouldn’t have time to get on the platform before the laser reactivated the catcher.
It is a bit of a solution requiring knowledge of game-engine mechanics rather than pure-logic, but it’s still a very good chamber.
Difficulty: 6.5/10
Enjoyed: 7.5/10
Me too! It's good! I think what ken.roberts is trying to say is that a fizzling laser cube (before 100% gone) will not redirect but rather block an incoming laser , thus solving a portion of this chamber. I say that trick needs a demonstration or training room. Even moreover, I don't know how I feel about this because any object that can be carried fizzles and can't be used, but this case shows usefullness for the last 1-2 seconds before it is gone.
Solution 2: Portals aim laser at catcher, cube blocks. Hit pedestal button to respawn and get on lift before the laser hits catcher
Should only have one solution.
One question: why I need portalable surface under ceil near laser?
