UPDATE V2025.6 (August 2025)

NEW CREATOR FEATURES:

- TRACK SEGMENT TOOL
- drive/walk/fly additional segments of track:
- redo parts of your track
- create a pitlane
- create an alternate path in your track for 'Joker' laps or secret shortcuts
- create multiple alternate layouts for your track
- option to set a new width for the new segment
- includes a track width guide bar (can be toggled on & off)

- TOGGLE TRACK EDGES
- instantly toggle off/on edge object placement anytime while creating a track or segment:
- while passing under a low roof, low bridge or over a bridge or walled area
- while make crossing back over your track for a figure 8 or multi crossover track
- basically any time you wish to momentarily stop and start track edges from being generated


NEW EDITING FEATURES:

- SWAP DECO OBJECT MODEL
- new "Change Object Model" button allowing the selected deco object model to be swapped with a different object model:
- choose a new model from the custom or prefab list and it is instantly swapped in
- keeps the current position, rotation and scale data of the original deco object

- MEASURING TOOL
- measure the distance you travel in any direction:
- re-measure your track distance after making changes or adding new sections
- check the distance between things to help with Deco placement
- the tool shows a list of your most recent measurements (up to 20)
- includes a track width guide bar (can be toggled on & off)
- option to set a the width of the guide bar


NEW RACING FEATURES:

- ANIMATED START LIGHTS
- New "Start Lights Gantry" & "Start Lights Box" custom object models:
- each model has 5 red startlights on both sides that animate when the race start countdown feature is used
- the gantry version is a full 'over-track' gantry
- the box version is just the lights box
- you can place multiple startlight models and they will all animate in sync the race start countdown

- TELEPORT HOTKEY
- the key ( / ) remains as "Quit Race" but is now also "Teleport to Start" (when not in a race)

TWEAKED CUSTOM MODELS:

- GRANDSTAND MODELS
- all grandstand models have been tweaked with longer legs and some reshaping
- now can be double stacked to make 'grander' grandstands
- now work better on sloped ground

UI UPDATES:

- USER INTERFACE UPDATE
- the UI needed an overhaul due to so many more buttons and features
- almost every part of the UI has been tweaked

- HOTKEY CHANGES
- key ( \ ) remains as "Create New Track" but now also toggles the "Start Track Segment" and "Start Measuring"
- key ( / ) remains as "Quit Race" but is now also "Teleport to Start" (when not in a race)
- key ( = ) now toggles the new "Track Width Bar" instead of "Ground Check"
- key ( ' ) now toggles "Ground Check" instead of toggling between Build & Race modes
- toggling between Build & Race modes no longer has a hotkey

OTHER STUFF:

- TWEAKS
- object multi-select now has a 'Previous' button as well as a 'Next' button
- object multi-select now first selects the most recently placed object in the list
- object origin waypoint 'stakes' are now double the height and are slightly 'fatter'
- object origin waypoint 'mid point' object changed to avoid a TM collision bug
- the selection indicator (blue arrow) is now double the height
- setting Deco objects to 'Trigger' has been disallowed as it can cause performance problems and game crashes


- BUG FIXES
- button visual issue with the Finish's "Show/Hide" buttons when reverse track or un-reverse track was used
- using delete key in multi-select broke the Undo feature
- delete key was not blocked in edit screens
- Start/Finish/Checkpoint cosmetics failed to detect Deco underneath them when track was initially loaded
- Typed or pasted track loading failed after a track had been loaded via a button
- Typed or pasted deco loading was broken
- Deco created before a track was created or loaded failed to save with track
- Checkpoint depth setting had no effect

NEW FEATURES:

- DECO EDITOR UPGRADE
 - Deco placement & editing is now available BEFORE a track is created or loaded
  - Eg. place bridges, buildings, hills, trees, etc. then create a track over/under, around or through those objects
  - as before, Deco placement & editing can still be done after a track is created or loaded
 - Save & Load Deco Files
  - Deco can now be saved to separate Deco files for re-loading later or for sharing (even if it's already part of a track)
  - Track Deco is still always saved with a track but can now also be saved separately
  - Deco files can only load if there is no Deco currently in the game world
  - Track loading is disabled if Deco is currently in the game world

- REALTIME SPLIT DELTAS
 - the 'delta' time to a player's personal best lap (PB) and the current session's fastest lap (FL) are now on display and updated at each checkpoint (and the finish line)
 - this allows a player to see whether they are up or down on their PB and the FL during a lap
 - also includes coloured up/down arrows for checking deltas at a glance

- MANUALLY ADD A TARGET LAP TIME WITH SPLITS
 - ability to type in a lap time and splits to act as a target lap (fastest lap)
  - useful when players want to try to beat a PB or FL from an earlier session
  - NOTE: players will need to keep a record of laptimes and splits if they want to use them in a later session

OTHER CHANGES:

- addition of bold, italic and colour text elements in editor UI
- general bug fixes & tweaks

NEW FEATURES:

- REVERSE DIRECTION MODE
-- with the click of a button any track can be instantly run in the reverse direction
-- the same button will instantly un-reverse the track again
-- you can save the reversed version as a new track if you wish

- RACING HUD FIX
-- new button and hotkey added to bring back the Racing HUD when it disappears (caused by TM subtle messages bug)
-- the hotkey is the "back quote" (`) which on a US keyboard is the same key as the tilde key (~)

- DELETE KEY
-- while editing edge objects, deco objects, or arrow objects the delete key (Del) can now be used to delete the currently selected object

FIXES & OTHER CHANGES:

- PIT LANE SYSTEM
-- when a driver pits the current lap no longer ends at the pit-in trigger but instead ends at the pit-out trigger
-- as this makes an out-lap potentially much shorter than a normal lap the "pit transit time" is added to the out-lap time

- MISC
-- tweaks to text input fields to make them easier to use
-- general bug fixes
